Find a dodgy-lookin A-rab and he'll do it for you....

or a tow-truck driver!

Failing that, the preferred method is a flat spring-steel blade like a steel ruler with a notch cut out of it. If you slide it down by the door lock it can hook the arm attached to the exterior door lock and unlock it.

Blue packing tape.

Pry the top of the door open with a wedge of wood, fold the blue packing tape in half and put a bit of bluetac inside the fold.

Insert the packing tape in through the gap at the top of the door.

Slide it down then hook it over the lock button.

Pull it sideways so the bluetac grips the lock then as you pull sideways, yank it up.

Or:

If you have some welding wire.

Bend the wire in a hook and cut the tip so its a sharp point.

Do basically the above steps but hook the lock button,.

This method may screw your paint.

Find someone with a similar-vintage Toyota and try their key. I locked the keys in the KE55 at uni one day, tried all sorts of tricks that failed (I didn't want to break anything though) until the guy who owned the SV21 parked next to me went to leave, tried his key in the lock and it worked perfectly....

Most 80s lock barrels are so shagged by now that you can almost turn them with a screwdriver.
