sounds like a retarded question but my mum called me the other day asking if I could explain this strange stuff coming out of her exhaust, I put it off until today so i could have a look and i have no idea.

 

she said she pulled out about 10m of it and apparently my old man pulled out a bunch too!

Glass packed muffler. Time for a new one.

 

EDIT: Uses glass fibre as a baffle, looks like maybe the interior steel that holds the glass in has deteriorated or broken causing the glass packing to come out.

I can only imagine what must run through someones mind when that starts coming out the exhaust and they don't know anything about cars.

That missing blonde girl is in my fuel tank!!!!

It could be sugar in your fuel heating up and forming Cotton Candy in the exhaust manifold.

Try eating some( at least 1-2lb) and get back to me.
