parrot Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 So for those of you complaining about the price you pay for AE86 bits, have a think about this. TE27 2TG Levin's/Trueno came without any chrome trim pieces. This includes the front and rear screen seals which do not have any moulding inserts, so the seals are specific to these models. A genuine NOS Front screen seal sold on yahoo last night for $900, whilst the rear sold for $670. The same buyer purchased both. Quote
ke70dave Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 You gotta be keen! Though brand new aftermarket screens are ~300. So double isn't so far for genuine....triple though..... Quote
bruce Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 wow, costly. Though good that old corollas are becoming more valued. These Te27 badges are pretty pricey: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1973-1974-Toyota-Corolla-Levin-TE27-1600-DOCH-GT-2T-G-2T-GR-2T-GU-/300936039899?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46112f8ddb Quote
Trev Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 Read it again Dave, it was for the rubber, not the screen. Quote
parrot Posted July 21, 2013 Author Report Posted July 21, 2013 Yes I saw that set of badges and laughed very hard indeed. It's one thing asking, another getting it. I watch the various TE27 items in japan very closely, and some of the prices being paid over there now are eye watering. The speedo & 3 gauge clusters, long consoles have always gone for high prices, but now it's all the more run of the mill stuff as people seek to retain originality. Another pair of Toyota NOS front and rear screen seals recently sold for $225 each also on Yahoo. So as always, its about watching for opportunities. Quote
