focus218 Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 Hey guys, I was just wandering if anyone has a solution for the cheap made rear tail lights for the KE70. I bought a few months back a pair from ebay and now the colors have faded out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-E70-TE72-1979-80-81-REAR-TAIL-LIGHTS-LAMP/132739016963?hash=item1ee7dca903:g:cRQAAOSw8GtZWPeW:rk:13:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/PAIR-TOYOTA-COROLLA-E70-KE70-TE71-REAR-TAIL-LIGHT-HOUSING-LAMPS-RH-LH-1980-1981/123009582810?hash=item1ca3f146da:g:S6AAAOSwSB1aoXXo:rk:23:pf:0&LH_ItemCondition=3 Is there a way I keep the bright original color? Banjo Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 Hi Michalis, Plenty of videos on the internet, on how to do this, but is a lot of work to get it right. A quick way is to remove the orange & red plastic lenses, & clean them thoroughly inside & out, then paint them on the inside with special spray paints for plastics, for plastic tail-lights. A bit of research should find it for you. I did it like that, years & years ago, & it worked fine. Cheers Banjo. Quote
parrot Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) If they have faded that quick, I would wonder if anything will help? Pwrhaps worth chatting to Toyota Heritage. They have a range of lenses made I gather to a higher standard, and there must be a market with all the 70 series getting around. See if Gary will do a run of them. They presumably wouldn’t be so cheap, but there is a reason these are so cheap Edited November 28, 2018 by parrot Quote
ke70dave Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 I bought some knock off side indicators for my ke70 back in the day. They faded and cracked within 1 year. just cheap shit. Better off finding some decent OEM ones. They will be 40yrs old and a good chance they will still not be significantly faded. 1 Quote
