Medicine_Man Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Got this computer that came into work today from a produce store, They said that it wouldn't start. Opened the case and have a look at the inside of the machine($*#*($%(*^@()!@@!!!! People seriously need to get their machines serviced on a regular basis but they usually end up bringing it in when it stops working.. Quote
Redwarf Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Hey Justin, it's almost as bad as mine was, isn't it?? :( Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 29, 2006 Author Report Posted May 29, 2006 It was bad, but not like this, This one took at least 5 minutes to dust out with the air compressor, The other 2 machines I have done in the past that came anywhere near this were, (1) Dental clinic machine - Full of tooth dust. (2) Plasterboard place - Full of plasterboard dust. Quote
Xany Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 ewwwww. yuck.....how did that thing NOT blow up!....lol Quote
Tiger Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I just vacuumed my comp out.. it wasn't anywhere near that bad!!! :( Quote
Trev Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 And that is why i do mine every 2 - 3 weeks. Quote
Clown Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 geez i thought my old computer was dusty :( Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 You can buy little vacuums...I think u can even get USB powered ones... And you can also buy cans of air...which as stupid as that sounds...works really well Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 30, 2006 Author Report Posted May 30, 2006 Best way is with an air compressor, vacuums are useless, compressed air in a can is alright if its not mega dusty.. Quote
Trev Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 And I'm sure that medicine man did this but i will just warn every1 else to have a GOOD water seperator on their air compressor to avoid moisture. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 30, 2006 Author Report Posted May 30, 2006 I've heard of people putting mainboards in their dishwasher to clean them before and they still work after. I think computers have more issues on the sunshine coast with corosion from salt spray than with a bit of moisture from an air compressor.. Quote
Trev Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Well I'm never letting anyone put a drop of water near my $3000+ computer and its what the computer shop sez so i would rather be safe than sorry just thought id pass on some advice, no harm. Quote
