The most likely thing as already pointed out is injectors, if the motor has been sitting for more than 6 months it is likely they are seized. I had this exact problem several times. It cost me $20 each toget them cleaned, the guy will also test them before he cleans them to tell you weather it was the injectors or not.

 

Yep i also used the ta22 brake master, probably steal the whole pedal box out of the celica too, as it will help you to get the pivot point just right.

alright ill check the injectors tomorrow see whats going on there.

 

i also need a gear stick if anyones got one they don't need.

 

finding a celica in this area is going to be a pain, ill have to keep my eyes open. are the later model ones any good or is it best if its a ta22, i thought they had a cable clutch, as my old box is suposed to be out of a ta22?

You probably don't need the ta22 one, its just the closest thing, use what you want really, just see what you recon looks close, and modify it.

 

As far as the gearstick goes, my gearbox has broke fifth and reverse so far, and I'm going to the drags in 10 days, so you might get lucky..........

 

How have you managed to break 5th and not 3rd! Reverse is understandable its not designed to take a thrashing.

 

Ive got a couple of spare shifters under the house. Short shifters FTW though. Mines a genuine Tomei.

Fifth died at powercruise. I was on the back straight racing an old ht holden, i hadnt lost a race all day and the damn ht launched off the line like a drag car. I chased it to well over 200clicks and once i hit 7grand in 4th i snapped it into 5th........and that was the end of 5th. :hmm: Id like to think i was catching him, but i wasnt, damn that car was fast!Reverse didnt really break, it just wont come out with the gearstick, all the other gears crunch hard, especially secound cos thats the one i used to use in burnout comps(before the turbo).

fifth in my pulsar died aswell, the owner of the box before me did it, don't know how he did it though :)

 

on a better note, i got the CA started today, it was something to do with the aac valve thing on the manifold

 

i was fiddling around with it, and got a few fires, but didnt know why, so i pulled some shit off it, then forgot to put it back on and it started. then i pluged the soleniod back on and it didn't.

 

so don't know whats wrong with the soleniod but it starts now and I'm happier than a pig in shit. :hmm:

 

 

neiboughs must love me. theres no exhuast at all and then there was me screaming in joy when it did start (also alot of swearing and carrying on when it wouln't work) hehe

no not really, just some fiddly things, like running the ecu wires into the cab.

 

had too work so not much got done, got two days off now so ill be working on it tomorrow

 

will post some pics up tomorrow aswell

started to modify my extractors today, as they don't fit as the steering arm thing is in the way.

 

pain in the but as i'm trying to get them as cose as i can to the original length

thanks, i was a bit overwelmed (spelling?) to start off with, but i just stood back and thought, just pull it out and see how we go

yeah i'm using xt130 corona struts, with pugeot rotors and most likely silvia calipers.

 

getting them choped down and thinking i may get them coverted to adjustable ride height at the same time. maybe

cheers for the info guys..yeah i just bought a ke55 and looking to put a ca18 in it later on next year just saving up for cash but my mate has a ke30 with a v8 injected in it he put celica struts in but needed bigger discs but yeah just got sum info of this dude at toymods corona strut upgrade coil over set up and he's going with that set up except hes puting au falcon brakes and discs anyway pozman I'm loving ur work glad ur posting most of it up gives me an idea of what I'm in for. nissan feeling i seen ur sr20 rolla man what a beast that thing must crack!
