I have got alot of mixed suggestions so thought I might ask you guys and girls what capacity can you bore a 3k block out too. Some people said 2.2l some said 1.4l so any info would be appreciated thanks in advance Jarrod.

I didn't think 2.2l was possible, I did think 1.5l or 1.6l might be possible though.

1.4 is as far as you'll get (even then why bother?). Why can't you just use a 5K or 7K??

ther was a fella on here a while ago who had a 3k that he said was out to 1500, he said it was used in a rally car before he got it, he ended up selling the motor anyway, brendo's car has a 3k that aparently 1300cc, goes pretty well

I'm not a crack addict or into racing. Just looking at ways to get abit more go out of the engine I've got due to I haven't got alot of money at the moment and I need to do something with the car. I also don't know old corolla's due to the fact I have nothing to do with them at work or anywhere else.

Staright boreing your limited to about 80mm. If you want a further increase you need to stroke the crank. i.e 4K crank. my engiine is 78(will confirm later)mm pistons 4K crank and is 1360cc. low 1400's is achievable, but for how long I don't know. A datsun L14 motor I have seen at 2.3 litres. That's the biggest one I know you can do.

why don't you just buy a 4k or a 5k, they will basically bolt straight in and will be faster than your 3k without having to spend loads of money?

Because if he's building a PRC rally car he may have to keep the 3K? That was my reason.
