I was wondering if any 1 has any ideas on what sort of 5sp i should put into my ke35 i just got it and i want 2 put a 5sp in so she is a little more zippy

heya bud, welcome to the site hope you enjoy your time with us. As far as your gearbox question, proably something standard like a 5 speed from a ke55 ect or the t50 boxes are fairly popular

You'll need a k to t bellhousing if you want a t50.

only realy two options. k50 out of a five speed corolla or a t50 out of a celica. but with the t50 you will need a bell housing to go from t-k and goodluck finding one of those. just go with a k50

What do you mean by zippy?

 

1st - 4th ratios are the same in k40s and k50s

 

a k50 is just a k40 with an overdrive.

You could also do a 5 speed from a KE70, but the shifter hole would have to be moved closer to you.

A 5 speed from a KE70 has exactly the same ratios as a KE55 5 speed, so what would the advantage be there?

Less kays on the newer KE70 K50 i guess.....

Besides that id just go with a ke55 K50!
