It's pretty easy, fairly straightforward, and there's people to give you some tips before you start (but get there early)

So far it seems that the common ones seem to be Mud Maps and Route Charts. And for Touring Road Events like Queensland Challenge there's also Tulips and stuff.

 

Assemble McDonalds car park, Wynnum Road , Cannon Hill

before 7:00pm 3rd Friday Night of each month

 

Approx 2 hours in and around the SE Queensland area.

Finish is an eating establishment with refreshments available.

or do they give us a place to get to, and the nav's have to create a map?

AFAIK with the night nav runs it's usually a mud map and/or route chart. Mind you I've only ever done 1 so...

 

I don't think they ever get you to actually plot a course...
