Perth's Longest Cold Snap In History

Hi all.

In case you didn't notice this is the longest period of minimums below 5'C Perth has ever experienced. We have had a couple of mornings dropping to -3'C out in Gosnells.

On one of these freezing nights we had to leave our beloved Mumbleweed out of the garage... here's some pics of what she looked like in the morning.





We actually heard the ice crack when we opened the doors


Then last night we had a storm... wind managed to knock over my spare KE20 windscreen

Man that safety glass goes everywhere!

Dowerin Motorkhana

Howdy all, sorry I missed the cruise

Seeing as my car wasn't ready I considered watching a Motorkhana to be a better offer

I forgot the good camera and the video camera... but got a couple of pics on my phone.
Was a great day!

We had an AE86 from franzonline.net competing, an awesome AWD 323, a white GTI Swift, a tidy red Brumby ute, a super quick blue Datsun rally car, an MX5 rally car, an MG Miget (looked so cute and small when sliding around the corners), and a hand full of falcadores that had no hope on the nice twisty tracks.


First course was a dirt track with some nice corners in between bollards. Almost every car either got lost or looped it round at one time or other, but most guys got at least two good runs. The awd 323 was absolutely amazing.

The second course was arround buildings on tarmack and gravel. After everyone had ha a couple of runs we ended up with two clear contests... quickest time between all the smaller cars, and biggest burnout of the line between the two falcons and commodore.

After a while a few of us could see where this was heading

The 2009 V8 SS commodore lined up for what I think was his 3rd run. Did a resonable burnout off the line but missed second and couldn't get the car in gear. After coming to a complete stop he finally managed to get it in gear and took off, clearly a little upset with himself.
Coming around the second last corner he lost the back end but decided to keep the boot in and have some fun with it... After 3 or 4 fishtails he met up with a gum tree on the side of the road. This was a good 50-100 meters from the corner wher the fun started, so he'd managed to build up a decent amount of speed.








The car is most likely a write off... engine and gearbox are stuffed, front wheels are hard up against the back of the wheel arches, and both front airbags went off.

The driver is ok, was winded and in a lot of shock straight after but was discharged that night. I think the biggest injury was to his pride.

I hope he comes back next year... but I doubt he will.

After all that I have no idea who won... was definately entertaining

Sold - Ke55 - Manual, 4k, 4 Door Tidy Original Car

Hi all, I'm posting this up for my Brother-in-law AJ (he did my panel and paint). KE55 Manual 4 door car.
This car has lived its whole life in the town of Dowerin and is in very original condition. Nothing has been modified, still has original tape deck.
The dash is in great nick, as are the seats as far as I'm aware.

I have been trying to get hold of this car since I first saw it.... unfortunately the wife has banned me from buying any more Rolla's


Condition: Approx 165000km Reasonable condition, some rust in guards (see pics)

The car is currently in Dowerin, but will be brought down to Gosnells if anyone is seriously interested in viewing.
