Hey all, finished moving my leaf springs in 10mm today, a friend has changed the offset of some 14x7 ra40 celica rims and tacked them together so i can trial fit. It took a bit of messing around but i finally have them in place. Slick are 24.5 x 8 x 14, the buldge is the widest part at 258 mm wide, i should be able to get a 255 street tyre on the rear now too :D

I have about 3 mm clearance to the leaf springs now, do you think i should change the offset by 4mm more and slightly scallop the springs? i am un decided of whether they still stick out to far? as it sits i should be able to roll the lips and not get any tire scrub, opinions please? last thing i want is a car that looks like the precise automatics corolla :P

unless you're running a panhard bar, i'd say that's not enough clearance to compensate for side to side diff movement. then again, if you're not cornering on a dragstrip or running 255s on the street, then you should be fine

i'd be inclined to roll the guards a little bit, tho i know you don't like to modify your nice straight corolla body. i don't think you'd want to place much more lateral loading on the leaf mounts and shackles, but then again i've never moved leaves so i'm not sure how much they can take

all the rotor boys reckon you can run a 9" slick on a stock ke20 with the right offset rim. change the wheels first, then the body, then look into moving leaves more. perhaps with some bracing you could move the leaves in alot more?

looks f@$kin tough tho :P and yeah, the precise autos 25 is a bit stupid looking

Jamie - No panhard bar but i have everyhing pretty tight, the slicks are obviously only for straight line stuff and i will probably upgrade to 225's toyo ra1's for the street. I am happy that the 10mm shims won't cause to much extra loading on the bolts holding the springs in, would not like to go any further though and moving the hangers is not an option.

I am off to the wreckers next week to find some econovan 4.5" rims for the front.

Grimwolge - My jatco and convertor arrives next friday. Putting a tial 44m external gate on so i can control boost better as before with the nitrous on i was getting a 21 psi spike that would cause the microtech to shut down (20 psi max base unit) so i have never had a pass with the 50 gas kit on. So this time out i will have an auto, transbrake, slicks, better boost control and the nice cooling effect of n20

Previously the car managed an 11.2 @ 126 on street tyres in full street trim with a manual, you could say i am a tad keen to get this thing back to the track if it doesn't break in half it should achieve my goal. :P

p.s Jamie - its Tailshaft Loop, rollcage, harness and something else if you run faster than 10.99

Would the "Something Else" be a chute to slow you down?

*EDIT* I almost forgot :P . One word, Awesome!!
