Put fuel in the carby (only a small bit) and then start it and see if it will stay running with the choke out or foot on pedal slightly. I had same prob, turns out the mechanical pump had crapped itself. Just go get a new one, or even better put a electric one in the boot :)

Didnt mean it in a bad way, was meaning "good luck" in the grinding, sanding, bogging painting fun of it!! haha if you do that id say they wouldnt even notice it, I'm sure cars get panels welded in all the time, and even front sections replaced.

That might be NSW, but i know as of june or july this year the inspection rules have changed in Tassy. They actually have to hoist the car up and manually check brakes, suspension components ect. Only reason i know is i went to the place that will be doing my inspection and ask what they check, whats legal and whats not ect.. Towe, Just grind it smooth, thing layer of bog, sand, and then put deadener over it... good luck :)

i just bolted it on, and ran it.. used less fuel then my stock 4k one cause it was busted... so it was a win for me..

Prolla not, that a standard carby on a 1.6l gemini. When you take stock Asian carb off the k motor, there is a plate between that and the manifold. a hose is connected to it from the tappet cover. you need 2 of those plates for the nikki to fit as I'm pretty sure the throttle linkages hit the manifold

i had a rebuilt Nikki carb off a gemini on a 4k before... ran pretty well. just had to use 2 plates that sit between manifold and carby

Thats the one Med Man... Chuck me a PM Trav... work something out. What the coils worth? I got it about 2 years ago complete with dizzy (pricey) with hopes of putting it in my Old hilux with a 18r in it. but sold ute.

I got a coil that came off a RA60 celica, had Electric Dizzy. Not sure if that coil would suit you, but ill check to see if its a HEC later and ill pm you if you interested. Just pay postage and she yours. Dan

The young bloke i can get used too, he seems more relaxed at what he does, though the bush bash on the 3rd ep looked fun!!!
