  1. ok I've discussed it with work, and it looks like everyone wants to go..therefore we'll probably close the shop early...but if we do it's likely that I will be bringing 5 more people with me... would that be ok? I'll have more details tomorrow and confirm it all....
  2. do you guys have bunnings over there? I had to tow something, and I hired a ute for a massive $38 ... just a suggestion...
  3. yep, most probably me  Lesley ;)
  4. YAY!!!!! MONDAY September 29th any idea what time???
  5. the OMG what happened today... kinda my fault.... I was going around a two lane round-a-bout I was on the inside, and there was a bus on the outside, but it was behind me, the guy in front of my kind of stopped half way round the round-a-bout and I stopped behind him, meanwhile, the bus overtook me on the outside, so I was driving slowly (not overtaking a turnng heavy vehicle and all that) and he took the round-a-bout tight, and came 3/4's into my lane, so I hopped on the brakes and let him go... I wasn't really paying attention, but I wasn't expecting to be overtaken by a bus... I kind of freaked out a bit, and then wondered if i was my fault, because if I was at the start of the round-a-bout and the bus was beside me, I would have waited, but because I entered the round about first, and then got cut off by the bus... well I wasn't sure... I felt awful, so I continued on, the bus stopped and I got around it... When I got to the next bit where the bus stopped, I got on the bus and was ready for him to go off at me I apologised... and you know what he said? He said "I didn't see your little car there, don't worry about it!" So my OMG for today was, I was expecting to get yelled at and I didn't! :y:
  6. Well said Redwarf :o :y: *begin rant* Tonight a group of friends went out to the movies, we passed a couple of cruises the "holden boys" (being stupid) and some rotors, *nice* cars - they were just sitting there checking out the rides.... :bash: Anyhoo... movie finished and we were heading home, there are some traffic lights and you turn right to go to the city...I was behind my friend (we took two cars) and he took off quickly, but didn't lose traction, didn't breach the speed limit, just zipped around the corner, with me right behind him...out of nowhere (well from behind us) came a police car with his lights flashing, we both pulled into the left hand lane to let him pass and he didn't, so I slowed down, thinking he was pulling me over, he pulled in front of me and CUT ME OFF!!! and then sat right up the bumper of my friend, there were "no stopping" signs all along the left lane, and as he's on his P's he thought he shouldn't stop there and was looking for a side street to pull into...there wasn't one, and he was doing about 40 with the police right behind him with lights and siren going...THEN the policeman changed lanes, sped up, pulled in front of him and locked it up, my friend had to stop quickly...THEN the policeman reamed him out for not stopping sooner!!! my gripe is this: first he cut me off, then he tailgated, then he pulled in front of my friend and made him do an emergency stop and THEN yelled at him for not stopping in a clearly marked "NO STOPPING" zone.... He ended up letting my friend off as there were numerous calls in about people doing donuts in the car park... *end rant*
  7. that's heartbreaking....I hope they can get some prints and catch the theiving mother f*ckers that did that to your pride and joy..... :)
  8. oh dude, that's bad, keep us upated.... hope you get it back safe and sound.
  9. I'm at a loss for words..... Actually, I'm not.... I can't believe how stupid you've been...you're very lucky you haven't lost your licence...have you learnt any lessons at all??? Have you modified your behaviour at all? Sorry for this to sound like a lecture, but that's what it is...if you lose your licence, you have to go back to a bike or the bus, or rely on mates, you lose your independence. Running from the cops is just stupid, they will always catch you. Now that you're "known" you should take it easy, keep your licence clean and pray to god you don't get caught doing anything stupid. You obviously are still learning, 1st week of your P's and all, take it easy, you don't want to die on the roads.
  10. lol I thought by me saying "busted!!!" you'd then say something like, "hey, I'm from rollaclub" :y: it was funny my husband was worried about people scoping it out... I always have a chat with people and let them have a look, he says I'm too trusting, that one day someone will knock me out and steal my car.... Lesley :y:
  11. that's insane!
  12. I was a bit perplexed.... I mean, you went to all the trouble of walking over and checking it out, and when I came over, I thought you would have said something like you were from rolla club or something.... :y: nice to meet you BTW! If you wanted a closer look, you should have said something :)
  13. don't you hate it when you spend a whole day cleaning your car, get carried away and do your partners car...they look fantastic... and then it fricken buckets down?! I truly wansn't expecting rain...stupid rain!

  15. ok, I found some video from 2007 before I had the work done, on the dyno - with the old sound and I took a video today with the new sound (it's crappy video!) it's at 23 seconds if you want to fast forward!!) and this is what it sounds like now.. Lesley :)
  16. oh, I had a new clutch fitted a couple of weeks ago... an exedy heavy duty organic (apparently 40% more heavy duty than heavy duty!) ... it used to go brooom pssshhhttt then it went brooom psh psh psh (flutter) and now it goes broooom pow pow pow (imagine space cowboys!) ... I'll have to get audio happening.... Lesley :)
  17. ok off the top of my head ... 17x7" GMAX Energy Rims with Yokahama Directional tyres 2 1/4" exhaust system with twin tips new CAI with pod filter turbo timer whiteline brace "mirror " tinted windows Megavox 8800RX head unit JBL Front Splits Sound Stream 4 Channel Amp Sound Steam 6x9 Tarantulas Slightly lowered with King springs and McPherson shocks Complete Rebuild of engine in 2007 New (and bigger) IHI Turbo (now kicking in at about 3200RPM instead of the old one which was just under 2000 RPM Next week I'll be getting the new brakes and rotors In the next couple of months I'll be having more paintwork done List of things I want to do... maybe lower it a tiny bit more new shadow chrome tail lights (which are a bitch to find) new silicone hosing in the engine bay new hose clamps through-out the engine bay new exhaust from the manifold to just behind the cat, but that's a bit tricky because I have to then put in a boost gauge and something else I can't remember.... For show's I have a custom built boot enclosure with a JBL GTi Amp and 12" JBL GTi sub woofers, but I want to get a new one made up... uh, that's all I can think of at the moment....
  18. Sound, Exterior, Interior or Engine bay??! Next week I'm getting new brakes and rotors, EBC Green Stuff and RBA Slotted rotors, picks of those bad boys next weekend!

  20. As everyone must know by now, I love my car... and I post bits and pieces up, but I'm going to consolidate it into one thread... It's a 2001 AE112R Sportivo Turbo (Limited Edition) Aztec Gold I recently put in new JBL splits in the front, and I have a new amp (I'll get pics of those). Today's post is basically a show off thing.... *lol* I've spent ALL DAY cleaning the car and I used a new wax today, the Meguires NXT Gen Tech Wax 2, man, it's SOOOOO easy to put on and take off... here are some after pics: Lesley :)
  21. I had time to kill today, so I swung over to my insurance offices and spoke to them about my clear coat lifting and they suggested I put in a claim for stone chips, which will do my bonnet, my bumper and the front apron, and maybe even my windshield! I had no idea you could claim stonechips! I also bought new wax (Meguiars Next Gen 2 Tech Wax) and cleaning cloths, and other stuff and the beastie is getting a full detail tomorrow! I even bought some "Nanokote" to help repel the brake dust etc.,etc,! OH YEAH! I also stopped into a jewellery shop today, and looked at some rings (our anniversary is coming up and this time I don't want car stuff!) and found this REALLY, REALLY, REALLY nice ring, that I had to have..... *for the girls, VS1, I-K clarity, princess cut .47ct solitare with 2x princess cut and 1 x bagette like this kinda, [][_][][ ][][_][] * and it was on sale for $900, I asked to look at the valuation - $4000 and asked them why so cheap? they had made a mistake on the ticket price, and then said, that if I wanted it, they'd honor the $900 price!!!!! hmmmm dumb question! So I rang hubby and told him I knew what I wanted for our anniversaty present and he said "oh, thats fantastic, get it, then I don't have to worry about what to get you" *OMG* so I bought it... :) Lesley :D
  22. Today, I rocked up at the brake place to get my new rotors and pads fitted (which I ordered three weeks ago, and have paid a 90% deposit) only to be told that all the parts haven't arrived...everything except the rear pads had arrived and they rescheduled me to next week :) lesley :D
  23. HEY! I take offence at that remark.... some of "us" can drive! Lesley :)
  24. As a parent, I want my kids in a safe car...when my daughter turned 15 we started talking about cars, and did she want to do a rebuild, so it was ready for when she got her licence, thereby knowing that all the work, she had a hand in, and therefore it was more personal and would take more care of it...we started looking for a fastback celica (which was really, really impossible to find) and the project stalled. When she turned 17, we started talking about alternatives... she didn't know, but I'd narrowed it down to either: A Mitsubishi Lancer, and a Honda CRX, both under 5K. We wanted her to have a reliable car, which looked cool, that had potential to be kitted up when she'd had more experience driving... I would NEVER, EVER buy a young adult, P plater, anything high powered. Lesley :D
  25. and investigate public liability insurance....
