  1. Tas! Going to drive it in the drift series next year maybe? Sounds like a good plan you have mate
  2. Sweet Holy Jesus, that sounds so freaking insane! So jealous! Well done mate :)
  3. Hey, which bit is the sender? The part of the termostat, or just the wiring? EDIT: just did the research, didn't think there'd be much info on such a part. Thanks :) I might get a new sender, I'll see if Repco has them. If not I'll just swap it over. Thanks mate!
  4. Okay so the head in the 3k is cracked :( so we've put in the 4k, using the manifolds and carb from the 3k as my exhaust wouldn't fit up to the manifold (when I get extractors and exhaust I'll swap it all over), and got it started and managed to baby it home, but having a few troubles. ~ although when it goes well it goes SO well and has SO much more torque (feels like normal car woo) 60% of the time when I accelerate it starts to splutter about 2500 - 3000rpm, sometimes I can push through it, others it just dies and makes almost zero noise until BANG backfire. The accelerator and choke cables are now on different angles as the rocker cover mounting for them is in a different position now and aren't aiming straight to the carb anymore, that could affect it? ~ The alternator wont charge the battery, as the one plug has three metal bits (name escapes me) and the other only has 1, but they connected up so we thought we'd try anyway. Didn't work haha. ~ The temp guage wire had to be extended because the male part was on the right side of the thermostat housing on the 4k instead of the left, so we extended it by soldering in some speaker wire, but the temp is either cold as a rock or above the highest point, even when the engine is cold and not running. Any help? Cheers, Toby
  5. I have that high beam problem in my ke26, and sometimes I swear it dims them too! Sometimes
  6. Haha yeah I forgot about those! I'll have to wait for some nice weather and some free time (uni exams start Saturday!) then I'll get some up :) Went to look at a 4k out of a 55 today, everything fan to fly, except for fan haha. Looked a little grotty, but didn't use oil or water and never skipped a beat apparently! Going to give it a clean up then drop it in :) maybe work it a little while it's out, putting a cam in will be a lot easier when it's out, and getting some compression going! But yeah paying $100 :) pretty happy
  7. Dude.. Why? Go buy some shit heap and do that to it, don't ruin it. This HAS to be a troll
  8. Yeah it's all fixed now. Had a massive wtf moment when I noticed my mate had connected the accelerator cable to the choke on the carby.. Pretty funny really haha
  9. All good now, my mate attached the accelerator cable to the same part as the choke haha, so silly
  10. No we didn't, I don't have that much experience but my mate does, and he didn't mention it. By hand it revs so well now though, it used to take a while to pick up revs just in neutral, but now it's way more responsive. The accelerator pedal is kinda loose and flappy too, not springing back much etc, I'm thinking the accelerator cable just needs adjusting, I just don't know how to do it.
  11. Just changed the head gasket, oil, all that on my 3k, but after putting it all back together, there's a lot of space when I'm pushing down the accelerator before it starts to rev, and once it started to rev it only has about 30-40mm left, and when its 'foot to the floor' it doesn't rev as high as it used to and splutters and dies. The part of the cable that is in that folded rubber sheath thing seemed kind of slack, but I'm pretty sure we didn't muck around with anything other than disconnecting the accelerator cable and choke cable from the carb. :'( Any ideas please?
  12. Okay so haven't posted here in a while, here's what's been happening! Done about 3000 miles in 6 months He's been to Launceston and back in a massive storm on Christmas night, where the dodgily put in windscreen was leaking torrents through both corners! Got that fixed for free. Went to Falls Festival, got so many looks and comments :) but when I wasn't at the campsite, got planked on by someone over 100kgs, putting 2 dents in the grooves across the roof, and a kind of longish dent/crease across the curve in the roof above the rail. :( Can you suck them out? Put on a new front bumper, though it's not perfectly straight and giving me the willies. We mounted a Kenwood headunit in the glovebox, with 2 Alpine Type R 6x9s in boxes in the boot, which I have since sold for $200, they didn't have the sound I wanted. Not enough quality over the WHOLE dynamic range and too much kick. Looking for a new solution, thinking of making a small setup in a custom card in the tailgate but we'll see :). Drove him for a while, all good, then started having heating problems because the thermostat got clogged with rusty water, then the temp started fluctuating like mad. Got it looked at and he slightly blew a head gasket. With Uni assignments over, had some time with a mate to fix him up, so what we did was: ~ New headgasket ~ New airfilter ~ New oil ~ Cleaned a lot of snotty crappy oil out of the rocker cover ~ New thermostat and gasket ~ New manifold gasket ~ Flushed cooling system a few times then new coolant ~ Topped up brake fluid (almost empty haha) So we got him all started and he started, idled and revved but there were two problems ~ A lot of white 'smoke', though it was dark and cold tonight. Thought maybe it was water in the exhaust as the manifold sat off for a while and its been wet lately.. Hopefully, going to wait until daytime tomorrow and let it idle for 15 minutes or so and watch. ~ More of a problem, there's a lot of space when I'm pushing down the accelerator before it starts to rev, and once it started to rev it only has about 30-40mm left, and when its 'full throttle' it doesn't rev as high as it used to and splutters and dies. The part of the cable that is in that folded rubber sheath thing seemed kind of slack, but I'm pretty sure we didn't muck around with anything, just disconnected the accelerator cable and choke cable from the carb. :'( Any ideas please?
  13. Looks pretty clean and straight mate, very good for a free car :) Has it been lowered? Looks like it has chopped springs! Turboing takes a lot of work, there's a thread or two on here about it if you have a look. Maybe getting a cam, skimmed head, headers etc would be easier for a decent gain, unless you just want a turbo of course :) Thought about a supercharger?
  14. Haha this thing is such a rat, love those wheels! The front stance is sick. I want to make a ke70 wet weather warrior so bad, this is inspiration hahaha
  15. I just read this from the start, now you're starting again! Those what's are lush with that stretch! I'd rather them than starsharks, but if by mk2s you mean longchamps, I'd rather those! what's and longchamps are the sex  How much would you want the for the wats? Can't wait to see what you do next, a te27 is a dream for me, hurry please! Toby.
  16. That's awesome that it's done that many miles! I like to think about what that car has seen :) Bad luck about the crash mate, hope you get what you're entitled to
  17. Love it! So clean! Welcome to Rollaclub mate You sticking with the 3k? I find mine a little hard to keep up with normal traffic!
  18. Check this, Saturday's Carsguide "Toyota Stout 1975, custom pick up, runs well, GC, rego, $3000. 62611368" Please someone from rollaclub buy this, or at least enquire! I would if I wasn't a poor uni student! Maybe it's custom in the way F trucks came 'custom' from factory

    Hello

Saw a dirty but original early Ke25 in Cygnet a few times a couple of weeks ago, whoever drives it seems to drive it to the main street/strip quite a bit, chances are if you went there on a Saturday or Sunday around lunch it would be there. But it depends how far away you live I guess. Also there's a little servo there and a Mechanic who might be able to point you in the right direction?
  20. Love the roof racks especially! Are they staying on?
  21. Yeah I didn't think I'd have too much of a problem. What about a 5k if I was to find one? Surely they only came in corolla's in the US, but it's still a k series and not much of a power or size difference, I reckon insurance companies wouldn't be so lenient.. But a mod plate is hardly worth it
  22. And Jono.C, George passed pits not 4 months ago :) Should be fine, plus the owner of where I go is a mate of my mums
  23. Oh okay no wonder I hadn't heard that before ha! Well I just posted on their wall to see if they have any or may come into any :)
  24. Was just told by a mate that a few mates took the head from a 21r or something (late rwd celica engine) to Goringes and they sandblasted it and skimmed it for $80! Sounds good, will give them a call and get a quote
