  1. ke15 isnt full chassie, but it makes no difference with bolt ons for strength anyway, as long as you don't do doors no idea if there legal or not
  2. A&D, i've had dealings (nice way of putting it) with him, you sure about that advice??
  3. jim? toyota mods? what drugs you on (and why arnt you sharing bastard) he gives me enough shit for mods, it will be a cold day in hell before he does one, can't even get him on that hearse job, because its a mod, and cos dead people have been in it dead people, brain dead rolla freaks.... mmm think weve hit on something here
  4. mines a track car, 1 deg camber, perfect, don't care about tyre wear yes put the rack on a 30 x/member, but don't think you should try and mate it to the original column and have you considered just shortening the original 30 eng mount brackets, the 71 has a shorter step where it mounts the chassie rail, using the brackets of it will raise your motor causing trans tunnel, bonnet or firewall clearance issues
  5. why the f@$k do i bother answering questions and why do people ask them, you have some half baked idea what you want to do, the fact that someones answered your question and told you what to expect, your still going to do it your way, good luck, it wont work, the angle is wrong between 30 column and the 70/71 rack, it needs to be recessed 100mm or the angle will bind bad mood, deal with it
  6. i'll do it, $77 an hour, long as it takes, but i can only fit it in during quiet times so no clue when i can get it back to you
  7. ive fitted the ae71/ke70 x/member to my 30, bit of cutting and drilling to get it on the chassi rails, use the 30 sway bar and drag links, getting the collom in is a fair prick of a job, the pedals fowl on the base of it a bit, and the 30 indicator wont fit so you have to wire in a 70 one, not tohard but with the differences in the looms, hazzard light switch will activate ign mad camber on the front too! good for corners, crap on rubber
  8. ke20/te27 will be the car its decided! the ke1x is just to hard to get bits for, the ke3x is to big heavy and ,yes, lacks the history, had a talk to some guys from bates/toyota rally last nignt, picked up a worked motor, having the shell already stripped on the rotisory i know its a good starting shell, looks like a few months of hard work coming up bugger the money side of targa, yes its lots, no i don't like spending it, but you can't spend your life missing out on fun because of dollar signs, set a goal, work at it, money will happen if your serious
  9. i spend most of my time avoiding the powers that be, NSW RTA is so corrupt the bribes would send me broke in a month
  10. your just not putting out for the right people  have to admit, i'd never try it not with local councils, state level maybe, as long as its not near them, they'll ok about anything for a buck
  11. this one, all set to start welding no coupe photos in the computer yet, i hate computers, you can't hit them with hammers to fix them
  12. if your REALLY good at filling out forms and sitting through meetings, good chance of getting QLD gov. to foot the bill, they seem much more open minded about motorsports and the publicity it brings in than the seat polishing public servant pricks that run this shitty little town, they shut down the gmc here because for 1 week a year it took 15 min longer to get a park spot in town, ok, it cost 3 mil to put on, but they made a fortune out of it, and for almost a year the rest of the country actualy thought humans lived here, not just wankers my rant over so I'm weighing up 2 options, the 20 (have 2), seam it, cage it, 2t, rules not exactly clear, any clue how a 30 wheel track/ stud paturn would fair? provided i use the right offset wheels its stock but compleatly not option 2, 30 hard top coupe ( have 2 of them as well) same shopping list more or less, but WAY heavier, again i run 70 diff and x member in them, fwd rims keep the wheels in but the traction better, just don't like those fat rims sticking out there, stuffs the bearings and makes the steering twitchy (unlike mine that just lets go without warning  )
  13. 10 was roughly what I'm happy to waste, i can right most of it off on tax, more than that may get me in trouble with mr tax man, but the 30/4age thing is the hassle, i like my 30's !! even if i drag out one of the 20's its lots of starting from scratch r&d wise, best i go through the rule books, got some 30/55 coupes may have more chance, i've never heard of the 37, guessing 1600 30/55 coupe, i'll look into that to any idea how strict they are on mods? 4 wheel disc, rack and pinion steer, the twin cam will obviously be a little problem volunteering not much of an option, to hard to get out of work, havent had a holiday in years, this is kind of my big idea to get away for a bit and have something to do, no family holidays to plan so may as well do something involving speed, cars, burning fuel, danger, and sightseeing all in one!!
  14. i've got the little ke30 up and running seems quite good apart from killing front tyres every 250 kms  but thats probably got something to do with the driver, not the car anyway, has anyone tried entering targa tazzi or classic ad. ? the rollas don't seem to popular with the selectors, any way to get mine picked over the escort/1600/usual stuff they let in? don't plan to go for a year or two, but will bash up another rolla for the job so if theres anything that would need to be included, guess nows the time to find out
  15. banjo or salsburry? could be the same as ae86 (?) lsd if its banjo and being import, the one i have here hasnt the tags and is disc so can't realy give any info sorry
  16. got the race car so started collecting about a year? or so ago not that mad on rollas, just kind of kept getting them going to stick with the ke3x , to many different parts to do every model, but the 70/71 has as a few parts i use so they keep sneeking in to the yard
  17. same bearing bolt holes on the backing plates are a different size, apart from that stubs are the same
  18. ok, so the collection now includes 2x ke20 1x ke30 sedan 1x ke35 coupe 2x ke55 sedan round headlamp 1x ke55 coupe square headlamp 1x ke 70 sedan 1x ae71 sedan not counting hilux, hiace, 2x navara, xr6, and 2x dodge/desoto and some motor bikes can't remember anymore parked anywhere
  19. yes wider by about 50mm per side, yes bolt straight in, use a 30/55 handbrake cable, the bracket on the floor is in a different spot, but the cable will be a little stretched
  20. tods out of town and I'm going to the farm with the kids, so looks like we're all out
  21. so not like your driving, no flogging going on there, although dead may be apropriate, couple of times i thought we better check your pulse make sure guy behind the wheel was functioning
  22. but you can't beat a classic !!
  23. 88, i think i stuffed it with the weights
  24. and the oldest one ( driver included yes) is fastest!! (not counting the blue rolla, its the wrong colour, and faster than me)
