  2. 4.5 hours labor, motor or box out its the same, supply clutch kit, machine flywheel, $470 may need it overnight if the flywheel can't get done right off
  3. the panard rod can make the LH side rear sit higher, because its mounted to the body and the diff on fixed points when you lower the car it tries to push the diff out to the left, because the diff can only go so far sideways it will jack up a little very common in VB to VK comodores but with those big slushy bushes they have you usualy get the tyre to rub on the guard LHS before they jack up, adjustable panard rods fix the comodores, no idea about yours, havent tried NickZ, your is probably a saged spring, no panard rods there!
  4. had that hapen on an old mustang i was working on in a single car tin garage, stiff drink and a change of shorts, not a problem! they havent made that tyre in YEARS, just old rubber failing, if you had driven on it you would have been hearing a massive thump thump noise as the bubble got bigger with heat

  7. factory option, hit the wreckers, has to be a van and has to be a k series, you may need shifter to suit i don't think the 4 speed shifter will work
  8. never run a motor when flushing, its pointless, a water pump is more of an agitator than a pump, your guarden hose is 3 times as powerfull all your doing is blowing out scale from inside the block you reverse flush the radiator and heater core because that scale is sitting over or on top of the core fins, if its in the core you need to run a radiator flush through first, then water (instructions on the pack) or pull the tanks off and run wire through the cores, no you can't do this at home! hell of a week, stuff the spell check, live with it

  10. water doesnt compress so I'm a little hesitant to spray it anywhere it may get into a cylinder, i've been stuck with a few rebuilds thanks to a cyl full of water and a rod with nowhere to go but sideways! but hey, it works i guess

    i don't think my sights are set to high, someone i find attractive and talks to me not at me, smart so we can actualy talk, independant, I'm not her keeper! and shes not mine the only rule is no one on the side as for anyone thinking I'm succesfull, hell no! not to look at, by fridays i've got the stubble and grease stains of any mechanic, but i scrub up well looks like i'll be seeing the kids xmas eve/morning (shes out drinking and needed a sitter i guess) then who knows, maybe in another month
  12. struck this one a few times in a few threads so here it is for anyone doing a search the k motors have all that carb and manifold hanging all the way out there on the side of the motor, this streches the studs and makes them work loose (very simple so far, yes?) when your car starts running rough or missing, get a tin of WD40, carbi clean, or airostart spray it all over the INLET manifold where it joins the head (flamable liquid people, no hot exausts please) if your idle goes up, you have a leak and the motors drawing the whatever you sprayed through the leak instead of the air that was making it miss if the idle stays the same, the problems somewhere else
  13. look like early lancer/colt factory mags, worth $150 ish id guess, but it all depends on who wants them!
  14. never done a 50, but just for the hell of it..... ae71 s/w diff bolts straight in to a 30/55, its 100mm wider face to face and the one i have is a 3.9 ratio ran behind a 4a 5sp factory
  15. ok, heres how the mechanics do it 1. take the wire of the sender, earth it anywhere, senders work on neg charge if your guage moves, senders stuffed 2. if the guage doesnt move, earth the back of the guage, if it moves, you have a brake in the wireing or board on the back of the speedo 3. if it doesnt move when earthed, guage is stuffed 30 and 55 tanks are different but will fit, but i don't see much point in replacing a large container because you have an electrical problem, bit like replacing your motor because it needs an oil change, gets the job done but not needed and lots of work (you can get the senders out through the parcel shelf depending on how hard it is to pull that out, if you have speakers and stuff sometimes its to much work)
  16. and use your '55 backing plates and drums, bolt straight on to the '30, bigger, wont mess up your brake bias like the little 30's will (unless you have an early '55 same drum size, use antone you want)
  17. I'm sure i used ke 30 mounts to put a 4k into a ke10, motor fitted fine, but that was 10 years ago so i may be remembering the wrong car

    "cooking for one" classes at CIT? haha i agree, I'm not in a position to meet people, i don't drink so the pub options out, all the friends are home with wifes and kids so nobody to go out with, i live under the hood of some car or another 16 hours a day, and go bush weekends i'll just keep plodding along for now, complaining loudly the whole time, when i find an outlet that suits me where i can get out and meet someone, well, things might change

    I'm in a bad mood, thats an understatement, I'm in a angry, violent, destructive mood, I'm storming around pacing and chain smoking looking at shit i just want to break I'm f@$king sick of it all, I'm ok to look at, I'm fit enough, I'm smart as hell, i work like a horse, i've got a successfull business, money, cars a nice home bikes friends a good personality friendly and a realy bright future I'm f@$kING SICK OF NOT HAVING ANYONE TO SHARE IT ALL WITH what the f@$k else do women f@$king want, i got everything i was supposed to to be a good provider, a caring partner, a good lover, and an easy listener if i have to go through another rejection, knock back, or any other getting f@$ked around by some gold digger I'm going to see just how fast my car realy is and how quickly it can come to a complete stop with help don't go giving me shit about easy way out, chin up it will get better, don't post this shit on rollaclub etc etc, i lost my FAMILY, I'm at work 24 hours a day because i have nothing else to do, nowhere else to be, and nobody to stand beside me I'm alone and sick of it and i want it to stop, i don't know why i wrote this here, maybe just to type it, maybe to share the shit thats driving me mental, maybe so i could stand in one spot for 5 minuits before the frustrations got me fired up to far go on tell me what the f@$k a woman wants, i'll f@$king get that to and still be alone and those of you who know me, a rare insite of a mellow guy getting pushed to far to many times
