  1. Has map sensor, got a brand new one but made no difference. Will suggest tps and vaccine leak to him on Monday
  2. Cool I'll have a look this afternoon when I go check on the car, yeah fair point, he is good, but spends most of his time on fiats, lancias, alfas etc. cheers for the advice
  3. Hi all, have an issue with the rolla, will start and idle, but as soon as you put any revs on it, it gets " chocked" and almost does. Has new plugs, new fuel filter, exhaust isn't blocked, tried a new map sensor, new air filter, just won't go past 2k. Left me stranded on my way to work yesterday. Couldn't even drive it onto a car trailer as I said it chocked itself one you aply power. My mechanic doesn't seem to think its the fuel pump, but he has no idea what the problem is. Help please?!!
  4. hey, Well I'm no expert, but I do read a magazine called retro cars which is a uk mag. they always seem to have all sorts of vauxhalls an opels etc and there seem to be lots of conversion kits available to make lots of the ff motors fit fr set ups, opel manta's vauxall chevette's ( our gemini) seem to be commonly used as the gearbox with these new engines in a rwd conv. So possibly a gemini box? or see if you can pick up a copy of "retro cars" an shoot them an email an they will gladly help. good luck mate, sounds like an awesome idea!
  5. managed to find this pic an got it into an album, but can't figure out how to put it up here so I'll just post the link lol http://www.rollaclub.com/board/gallery/album/754-our-family/
  6. Oh nice to know I'm not the only wagonthusiast lol :2thumbs: hey that sounds like an absoloutly PERFECT plan!!!
  7. yeah I'd stay far far away from that horrible monstrosity!! half crusty old british nightmare half awesome corolla lol (my apologies to any fans of the jaguar lol)
  8. oh awesome! can't wait to hear what the importer has to say!! Auto is fine by me, an like you say a 6 speed conversion shouldn't be too hard ;) I actually saw one on the net that had a full ae-111 trueno front end on it! lol it looked real nice. Hell YES!!! that is exactly what I want, then I'm going to serch high and low to find as many ae10* jdm options to put in and on it lol, is it strange I want a wagon like that so bad?
  9. Yeah been looking at trade me, some nice examples on there. True caldina's a very nice and probably faster and handle better, but I know of a few caldina's in the local area, and I just want to be as different as possible lol. thinking I may have to contact some importers in Melbourne or Sydney and see what they think
  10. This sounds alot like what I was saying to my wife in the bob jane t-mart store before we got ours wheels lol. I want to run about 2 deg negitive camber at the front an1 or 1.5 at the rear for handeling purposes (thats my main aim.. Handeling) but untill the ft-86 is released, the ae92 is classed as my wifes car so I can't change her wheels lol. Was just wondering if there is a way around my problem with the silly big wheels on it such as the pillow ball top mounts for the struts, Yes this is far from my first budget run about, I've had about 30 corolla's over the years and have put quite a bit of money into the seca, mainly in the handeling an some tasty jdm interior parts
  11. hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help me, I'm trying to find out any info on the ae-101 bz touring wagon and also if it is possible to import one into australia or even if someone knows of any already here? not a real common car I guess and many would simply say "why bother?" but I love to be different, love corolla's, have a family, but also enjoy driving an these lil beasts have 20 valve 4A-GE's in then so it sound like a pretty good mix to me ;) but is it possible here in Australia or do I need to move to a different country lol
  12. hi all, Well I have an ae-93 sx seca with 17" rims on it, 7.5" wide i believe. And I have a different problem... I can't run ANY negative camber (which really sucks!!) because the rims will touch on the strutts, but the rear wheels scrub badly on the guards around every corner or over any bump, and thats with just me in the car!! My front wheels also rub on my whiteline adjustable sway bar at almost full lock :bash: can i get those adjustable strut top plates for my car to cure my camber and guard issues? also here is a link to a pic of my car as I'm computer illiterate an can't figure out how to put it up here lol http://www.rollaclub.com/board/gallery/image/8199-med-gallery-13236-765-1133344jpg/
  13. Oh cool, thanks for the info  I'll try that first thing tomorrow and let you know how I go
  14. Idle speed when warm is around 900-1000 rpm. Ahh well it doesn't sound like the wax pellet is my issue then :hmm:
  15. yeah it does have one an it's hooked uo, It has genie extractors that had the thingy ( very technical term that lol  ) for the sensor to bolt onto. Someone told me once that they have a wax pellet in the throttle body and that can fail over time or some such thing, or is that nonsense?
  16. to the best of my knowledge yes it does have the oxygen sensor in the exhaust and yes the cold start injector is hooked up, don't know if this helps or means my problem will be more expensive and difficult to fix lol :laff:
  17. Hi all, just wondering if someone can help me out, first of all I did do a search but couldn't find an answer to my specific question but I apologize if i just didn't search quite the right thing. So, I have a 1989 Toyota Corolla seca sx with the 100kw 4A-ge, 270,000kms, pod filter, extractors and full 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 inch exhaust. Now my problem is that it will not idle when it's cold, ever. It will always stall until it starts to warm up, even my rather tired ke-70 with 678,000kms will start first turn and idle nicely, just wondering what I should do as I thought these cars had an idle up feature for cold starts??
  18. Thanks for that info yrreda25  Yeah it was just what someone told me once that they had the section for the transfer, but i saw something last night that said early 20v's don't have it but late ones do, i have no idea lol haven't as yet got the tape measure out, only had a quick look over a few beers the other night, and had a top gear "how hard can it be" moment lol so i started doing research. Didn't think the tunnel would be much if any different, as all the bits inside are interchangeable. Yeah i was hoping to use my existing rear struts with some custom work to mount them, or use the whole section of the 4x4 floor ( both wheel wells an the bit in between) but that could be a lot harder. Yeah I spoke to a transport engineer today actually an he said it should be no problems if done to a decent standard. I'm in Hobart Tasmania. Would be interested in those bits, but I'm guessing shipping could be an issue :fuzz:
  19. hmmm, one thing i have just looked at is the fact that the wagon has a 4 or 5 link rear suspension whereas mine has strut type suspension, however surely this can be overcome? maybe? Didn't an American president say once "not because it is easy, but because it is hard"? lol i just like being different. And some e9 corolla sedans had 4x4
  20. hey all, now, I'm no expert, far from it. But i currently have a 1989 ae-92 corolla seca, and my mate has an ae-95r 4x4 wagon, we've looked at both, and from what we can tell, if you drill out the spot welds for the plate the 4 control arms bolt to and remove it, possibly swap the fuel tanks over and get a custom exhaust, his 4x4 driveline should fit in my fwd car. they are both corolla/sprinter e9 chassis after all. Can't think at the moment if the floor in the front seat area on his car has a lump in it for clearance for something but i have a big hammer lol  only other thing could be that i was told once that earlier 4a-ge's need a bit machined out of them for the transfer case or some such thing, but the later 20v 4a-ge's come with this cast into them as the later sprinter carib wagons came with the 20v engine, mind you jdm ae95r sprinter caribs had 4a-ge's in some of them too.... :hmm: any idea's on this info? just going on measurements from a toyota manual, a bit of a visual check, pics on the net an word of mouth so if anyone can set me straight please do BEFORE i go buy myself an ae-95 an start making a mess lol
  21. Hey thanks for that guy's :) at least i know it can be done, and i got some good info cheers
  22. Hi all, just a bit of a strange question i guess, is it possible, or worth while, putting a 2zzge and 6spd box into a 1989 AE-92 corolla seca? vehicle currently has a small port 4A-GE , it's original engine. Just an idea one of my mates put to me today. Any info/thoughts/opinions appreciated
  23. thats one tasty ae95! hopefully my car looks that tough one day
