  1. Wow those welds look alright hey! Mine are ugly. Once in awhile I get a good weld, the rest of the time it's just all over the shop.
  2. I think all of them are non-replaceable unis. Mine are non replaceable too (front half is AE86, rear half is RA23), and it's a real PITA. I've heard of people machining out the original unis and replacing them with something else, or something along those lines. I don't know the details, but would be interested in finding out.
  3. I'd love to learn how to TIG weld. I can sort of MIG weld, but I'm really crap at it.
  4. Tiger: Have done some small jobs with fibreglass, but just repair jobs. I'd like to learn how to actually make stuff.
  5. Oh so cool, they have ACE courses at TAFE :) ACE course, 5 weeks, $231
  6. It's a shiny thing.
  7. Danthuyer: They are pretty quick aren't they? We had a few of them at one of the driver training sessions, and they were easily as quick (if not faster) than the Skylines etc around the small autocross setup we had. Very nimble little things.
  8. I'm considering learning how to fibreglass properly (I've patched my front spoiler several times and done other simple jobs like that but never anything full on), so have been wandering around the Internet (remember: if it's on the Internet, then it must be true) looking for advice and tips and stuff. Came across this page, thought it was interesting. Anyone else here done any firbreglassing work?
  9. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :) :D :D :) :D
  10. Operating temperature? Who knows, I don't :) Besides, it's the temperature of the oil and water that matter, not what temperature it is under your bonnet. The only time the under bonnet temperatures matter is in regards to air intake, in which case the cooler the better. But it's easier just to put a cold air induction set up in.
  11. Oh well, I guess that makes it all better then :)
  12. I just noticed the sticker on the window of that 200sx, WHY ON EARTH would anyone stick a sticker that says "Cool Style" on their car??? That is so... Lame. Oh well, to each their own I guess... On the other hand, if it said something like "I was once a treehouse... " :)
  13. Oh no, we wouldn't dream of kissing his toes either (who knows where they've been!). But that doesn't mean we are not RLP :)
  14. *gasp* you mean Subaru have converted you from an RLP (Rob Loving Person) to a non-RLP??? That's shocking!!! Who would have ever thought that Subaru could do something so evil...
  15. Take extra note of the happiness involved in Reason #1 :)
  16. Mel: Here are a few reasons to start you on your process of healing :) Reason #1 Reason #2 Reason #3 Reason #4
  17. For all the tremendously awesome cars (Porsches, Evos, etc etc) at Targa and other such events, one of my favourite is still: It's such a shame that I don't like big ugly V8's, and that these cars never really handled very well from factory. The one in the above photos is a very well sorted car though, about $200K spent on it :) And gawd it's PHAT. *edit* And hey look, it has no flares even!
  18. I think all need to work together to convert Mel to a Rob Loving Person :)
  19. Rollie the KE30 had the same sort of vent on the bonnet. Apparently helped a lot with cooling, but then again Rollie also ran a 4AGE which would probably produce more heat than a 3K. Engines should run at operating temperature, no less and no more. You only need more bonnet vents and stuff if you're having cooling problems. If you don't, then leave it be, spend your money elsewhere. My bonnet is painted black, I ran out of white paint. Carbon fibre bonnets aren't really legal in Australia.
  20. I think the first time I saw a KE1x (Dougs car actually), I was a little... surprised? I wasn't quite sure what to think of it actually. It was really cool, and it was so small and all that, but it was so different to the "corolla" that I was used to. Didn't help that I was used to post-90's cars either, even my own 1981 Corolla seemed "old". It didn't take long for me to warm up to the KE1x though, now I recon Dougs sprinter is one of the coolest cars out there, and everytime I see a KE1x around it's like "hey that's so cool" :) I like the styling of KE2x's, especially what Toyota did with the TE27. I don't mind the KE3x, I only really like the 2 door sedans and the coupes really. Don't think much of the 4 door sedan at all. I don't really like what they did with the KE55, and have never really had anything for the KE70's or later (sorry Teddy). I think generally I'm a big fan of the "old school muscle", which generally equates to dish wheels, flares, and stuff like that. Mustangs, old Celicas, things like that. Old Corollas are kinda like that, just... different.
  21. Mmm, it's close to raisin toast time again :)
  22. "bolts straight in" HAHAHAHAHA :)
  23. YAAAAAAY IT'S ROB!!! ROB IS COOL
  24. My car is actually log booked as a group 3J car. :)
  25. That looks pretty mean.
