  1. 80klm is possible. there was a dude in tassie that lost his license years ago from drink driving or something. he perfected the tiny donk on his mountain bike thing to get him to and from work. the cops clocked him doing 80 through a 60 zone so he got deeper in the poo. this is what you need thou......street cred. http://motorbicycling.com/f15/my-victa-167cc-turbo-bmx-3556.html#post36891 copy and paste if it don't work

  3. looking good mate. those rims will look good on it.
  4. just a general discussion on an engine conversion you may have done and wether you think it was worth itin the end. its the cost/ effort and hassles versus every day performance over the original. state what you had and what you went to and the big differences. i have a question to the ones that have gone from 4afc or what ever it is in 91 corolla hatch to 20v.is it a massive gain in drivability and power/torque. i know this sounds like a retarded Q but hear me out. i had a fx-gt rolla with the tvis 4ag in it and it was useless in every day driving like between lights etc but once it hit 3500rpm it would pull off the speedo when the others would drop off. the gt i believe had a close ratio 5speed. my mate at the time had a stock rolla and put the 20v in and i wasnt that impressed and thought my gearbox must help more than i thought. the current crap little 4a carby yawn motor has nice bottom pull and is all right and i would nearly say give my old rolla a run for its money upto 110klm. i always thought if i was to do a conversion it would be the gze not the 20v but i have the temptation of a 20v in front of me but don't consider the change worth it unless its gunna haul heaps harder.............thoughts every one.
  5. what gives you that impession. :rolls: i do like the look thou. the latest is going to be red with black rims as a change.

  7. hey all i like to keep busy i guess. prefer having a project than using something is the problem too. the wife loves paseos and decided instead of blowing money on my cars we buy them and do them up. i treated myself to a corolla thou to help my sanity. how it came Shot at 2011-02-12 how it finished Shot at 2011-03-18 how it came Shot at 2011-02-12 how it finished Shot at 2011-05-30 how it came Shot at 2011-04-28 how it finished Shot at 2011-07-11 this ones now started Shot at 2011-08-06
  8. the boat shed has plently of car parks around and getting some good tucker to kick back with is the best.its the start of what i consider as the esplanade cruise too. id be interested in doing even a one of trip like this. i will admit i prob wouldnt be as keen to do mixed make meet as i can do that at boost cruising and going to meets with alot of people and cars gets boring. its like going to a car show just wondering around looking until ya get bored. ;)
  9. just throwing this idea out there. we could have a rotating meet spot. one sth side one nth side but just alternate from week to week. try to get more people together in there area and if ya up for a good cruise then ya can do the opposite side of town thing as well. the locals will need to decide of the nicest spot for there side of town with good lighting ,food at hand etc and maybe a good cruise area to finish off the meet. being a north fella id say prob redcliffe scarborough food joint. at the end of the meet we could all do a cruise along the esplanade out over the hornibrook and head home. i live at caboolture so thats the long way home but id do that for yas. :)
  10. i think the only chance you have of meeting 1k is do all the prep work then hand it to a back yarder and supply the paint. dark grey is that metallic. if so your looking at clear as well as a more expensive paint. i prepped a mates escort. every thing pulled apart, primed and sanded. i got him to hire a booth and the dude that owned it at a shop said he would spray it for 280. that job was under the 1k mark but the offer was never extended again. ive always sprayed my own cars. did use acryllic but now use 2k as i think its better. i did once hand a ute to a spray shop as i worked flat out and didnt have the time. again totally stripped primed and ready. they supplied paint and booth and it was 1500. the big issue is your asking profesional shops to do something dodgie for under 1k. as a minimum most would quote 2 days to strip all essential bits, tape, prime sand then add the cost of the spray booth and paint. so 16hr @ 77= 1200 odd plus booth and paint. usually some shops don't use any unkown paint as it could cause more probs. 2days prep from go to whoa is pushing it as these shops put there name on a car and don't want it coming back with faults. let us know how ya go. it pays to shop around alot. also alot of fellas that work behind the counter at the paint stores are painters, used to be painters or are well set up to do back yarders so there worth asking.
  11. how much rust does it have mate. is it poke ya fingers though type thing or just a few little bubbles. where abouts are ya. theres different options for different problems.
