  1. found the key to disneyland!! hahaha
  2. Yeah ill be racing! theres a group of 13 (so far) of us going up!! let me know if you want to jump in with us and ill arrange it :) Also gonna try these if its dry just for lols :P
  3. Theres not really much change, I'm not letting go of the 82.. That one is staying for as long as possible!! The problem is that I don't want to hack the thing up and then not be able to drive it every day. AE9x have a better suspension geometry and are interchangeable with even better AE10x and AE11x suspension bits, not to mention that there is heaps of aftermarket support compared to the 82 where everything has been either customised to fit or custom made!! This way i can have my cake and eat it... Win-win for both cars!! :)
  4. As much as I want to, there's a few other reasons why I'm going this way, you'll see. I promise you blokes wont be disappointed. :P
  5. Its a touch too heavy, and Penrite doesnt make the best oils to say the least... Try going to western oil in sunshine and ask for 5L of Syngear 75w-90. Ive never had any issues with gearboxes since! Other than that, how does it feel? does it go any harder?
  6. Coilovers can be comfy if you get the right spring rate. You should be able to fit those wheels with camber and some pumping of the guard. 13x7 +0 with a 175 tyre?
  7. To clarify and simplify what has already been said AE82 fits AE82. Anything else does not.
  8. Could be as simple as it needing a better quality oil, I know that has always been the case with my Corollas haha, what are you using in it?
  9. Happy New Year!! Plans have changed, so say hello to the new dedicated track hack! Got big plans for the thing, hopefully ill be trolling even faster cars out there once this is done and on a budget too! ;) Sadly this means the last track day for the 82 will be in march, after it will be retiring solely to daily duties. The car has reached that point where i can't take it much further without big funds... :(
  10. I know of a few 82's with locked diffs, 2 are welded and one has a spool afaik. You have a lot to play around with on the alignments on 82s. If its an oval speedway you can run individual camber and toe on every corner until you're happy. You can add or remove camber via camber bolts and toe has adjustment built in to the rear sub frame by the use of eccentric bolts I've seen a couple 82 speedway cars on my105 a while back, it might be worth finding a couple and checking them out and picking the owners brains as far as setup goes. Very interesting that they're restricting exhaust and not the intake... what's the logic behind that as I'm sure that it wouldn't be healthy for any engine
  11. Gonna need new rails for any non-ae82 seats mate. If you want to spend more you can get rails for recaros or brides from japan.
  12. This.BBS would only be for daily use if i was to get a set. it would be silly to track on them as they weigh a fair bit more than the 6ULs. No flares on this car, i like the look of the stock guards too much :)
  13. Came across a couple of pics :D And my favourite... Also tried on a mates set of very wide BBS wheels Got a few big things planned for the car in the new year, and hopefully its back out on the track in march :)
  14. Not much of an update. Been busy with school and what not so the car has been a bit neglected... But I tried on the gemini wheels again with my spacers, turns out theyre the same hubcentric bore as my 6UL's, not to mention they fit perfectly in the guards now. I'm currently only running them on the rear and whenever i even think of making a turn they scrub :P The suspension has settled a bit now so i can't do this trick anymore... which means theres very little rear wheel gap now :D Also the interior is back in... And i deleted my rear wiper because it was blowing my fuses and i couldnt drive without wipers lol illl give the bolt a quick rust-convert and paint once i have time ;)
  15. Mine has always done this, even more so now with the exhaust on.
  16. I kinda did this to my AE102 for a laugh... left the exhaust unbolted and dangling. people got scared.... fun times.
  17. Nobody wants to be my winton buddy sadface.jpg
  18. booooo! lol
  19. No. needs to be this! (that does sound awesome though :P ) Ive seen an old KE coupe do a 1:36 with a beams in it... surely a 1:4x is achievable with a tickled 4K and lots of suspension and brake work ;)
  20. Cmon man.. thats not the right attitude!! Once you get the rally trophy you should focues on winton.. I wanna see a 1:4x.xxx ;)
  21. Long track mate ;) I might give the other tracks a go once I hit my goal at winton
  22. Needs less rally suspension and moar winton. :P
  23. Thanks dude! Theyre a very fun car arent they? Should post up a ride thread for yours! For some events you just have to know the right people at the right time... for others you just sign up to tampered motorsport days via their facebook and emails. If you look around there are a few other groups holding track days aswell. As far as suspension goes, not much really. Adjustable rear sway bar, coilovers (10/8k springs) and a rear strut brace... It doesnt have to be fancy, just getting it all to work in harmony is the trick.
  24. Ah yeah I know that maroon MX5, its a very tidy car... Thats true, everyone likes their setup to be a bit different, I know that I'm still not happy with mine, but its just wheel alignment issues which are easily sorted once I find the parts...
  25. probs not. LOL I want to get under 1:40 at winton with a relatively stock smallport... even if it needs to be done on full slicks! :P I like the setup of events at winton, there is heaps of track time and its cheaper than the track days ive seen at the other tracks. I like the location and the technical nature of the circuit. Its about skill and suspension setups rather than having power.
