  1. depending on how you look at the stats tho. see your looking at the fact of how many younger drivers crash compared to old people, which is true, they are better in that sense. but when you find the stats that show the amount of Kilometers young people do per accident and the amount of kilometers that older people do per accident, youll see that the results are reversed. I'm talking crap either it is true, its just that younger drivers drive so much more so obviously we are at a far greater risk. the more you do something that has a risk the higher your chances are that youll suffer in a accident.
  2. yeh come down man, show alot of these hardened torana bogans what a real corolla can do. if you go there I'm most certain to actually show up for the day. makes me sick that they didnt include drags this time even tho they said they were going to try, and they were also going to have it over the weekend. i guess that will have to happen next year hopefully when the court case for AIR (Adelaide International Raceway) is resolved. Bob jane needs to die already, he is being a stubborn old bastard
  3. i like the fact that I'm on my full licence, that makes me more comfortable. i live in adelaide also, i do know the laws of which your talking about but it wont work by someone dobbing you in. police will still need to catch you in the act. but what can happen is if 3 or 4 people report your numberplate within say halfhour or hour (a decent amount of time to make cops think your still "hooning" around) then they will keep an eye out and if they find you they will pull you over and enquire, and they wont be able to fine you for what was reported but i can guarantee a regency defect. there is nothing wrong with hooning robert. unless your just saying residential areas which i agree with because i like to have a good sleep, but having a friendly race south road late at night when no ones out never hurt anyone. except the retards that manage to lose control on a straight line some how. i swear, the way some people die on the roads i have no idea how they get in those positions, there have been so many cases where the road is dead straight, i reckon it is a retard attempting to drift and losing it due to understeer. thats my theory. i think cops need to focus less on street racing and more on old people that drive to bloody slow, and not stay left unless overtaking. that shit causes more accidents. feel free to argue
  4. www.google.com that is the best place for info. the question you are asking is also extremely vague.
  5. hahah thats actually pretty gold man. never thought of that. i still like the desert eagle idea. i have a bit of a thing for guns. if you live in adelaide go to marksman in the city you pay $65 and you get to fire 3 clips from a 9mm, 1 clip from a 45, and 12 from a revolver and 6 from the 44 magnum. first time i went i was surprisingly accurate, teddy (the guy who owns it) thought i had shot befor. so awesome tho, 44 magnum could tare limbs off.
  6. when your presented with a threatening situation there is only one solution, which is to dethreaten the situation. next investment should go towards a 9mm or desert eagle, best problem solver youll ever come across. seriously the guy wont do anything about it. i had a party a while back and a group of retards rolled up in there dada and fubu trying to come in, so one of my mates started on them, and they kept saying yeh your all f@$ked etc etc. we were just like what ever, but my mate kept wanting to fight, these guys were like 16-17 thinking they were tuff (it was my 20th) and they kept saying we were f@$ked and this was months ago, haven heard from them since. they can try all they want tho. goodluck to them
  7. as someone else mentioned, it could make the motor run lean. and obviously the huge problem with that is blowing shit up in the engine. even if you had larger injectors you still need the computer to control the amount of fuel going into motor. so you would end up having alot of problems. good thinking. if you wanted cheap thrills you could always install nitrous. the only thing with that though is youll need to always refill. nitrous isnt like what alot of people think it is, which is the misconception from fast and furious and gay movies like that. nitrous is pretty much a turbo without the lag. just depends how much horsepower nitrous kit you want. you could just get a standard motor and run it but it is similar to having a turbo on the car, and if you get too large of a nitrous kit you will blow something up. but no reason why you can't have 100 hp nitrous kit on any car. you wont need to change shit. internally wise and some people will think.
  8. you could always custom make tramp bars, but that can be a little costly, since you require certain joins and so on. but still wouldnt cost that much. depends on your budget. caibs how much did your hilux diff cost? and what are you putting it into? if you got a full diff conversion done to fit to your car how much did that cost. I'm due to get my diff conversion done soon so just want to see some prices, although I'm thinking of going borgwarner rather than hilux. Cheers
  9. yeh i can back up your claim caibs. my rolla project initially started off with putting a L20 from the bluebirds then i realised "this is gonna be wak" so i scrapped it, then thought about 4agze they were not that expensive, then i realised i wanted more power so i looked at SR20DET the only problem there was it was pricey but then i also thought, if i do it right the first time then it should be good to go. i was contemplating a ca18 and going for cheap thrills but i despise those motors, in my opinion they are the second worst motor that nissan made next to the CA20. so ive gone SR and havent turned back, yes there is more work physically and more messing around but if you have the time and the money its worth spending that little bit more to get something that whole lot better. I'm not saying go sr but if your relatively mechanical minded its always good to challenge yourself. although i do need to admit the most experience i had with cars before i got my sr was servicing my own cars, oil, pads, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs etc. and besides that it was only what i read and researched about. and i also have a mate thats heaps handy with shit in this area. in the end it comes down to what you personally want to do. sorry about long post. hope its useful.
  10. yeh irokin i don't think id wait for 50 posts it would get too hard, because the time you wish to find out information is the time you can post anything unless its in someone elses thread and then people will probably get a bit angry with the topic change. and there is also the point you mentioned about people will just write irrelevant crap to get there 50 posts. thats just how i see it though. hopefully people just learn and not ask dumb and repetitive questions, but doubt that will happen as there are alot of people that are lazy and want the simple option. your idea about giving people a ranking of negative and positive is a fairly good idea. but idealy its up to you admin and moderators. Good luck
  11. where abouts does everyone live in South Australia anyway? seems like most of you live north? I'm a down south person. maybe a cruise should be organised a decent sized cruise. the only problem with the city is pigz :( ! i can't really talk much though because i wont be able to cruise anytime soon. all i have is my standard paddock bashing ke70. my SR one is still in construction, but ill keep an eye out for december cruises
  12. hey guys, i see where all of you guys are coming from, even though ive only been using this forum for the past couple of months i always search google and the forums for relevant topics and then if cannot find anything ill post the topic, (i don't think ive been one of those repetitive posters, but if i have let me know). Another suggestion is maybe setting up a voting system? have like a thumbs up icon and thumbs down so before people even go into the thread they can see if its going to be bad or good since other members may have already rated it, and if its got too much thumbs down then either have moderators delete. i also saw the other suggestion of 50 posts before creating threads, i do see both sides to this story but i also see it being very inefficient. because there are some of us (myself included) that do as much researching as possible and then resort to asking questions here when desired. i don't think i have had 50 posts yet but ive still managed to start threads which were unique, so in the end i would not approve of taking that approach. another option is to suspend people, if they have posted say for example 2 or 3 threads and they are utter crap like will a 4age 20v fit in my kexx or AExx. then you could suspend them from posting new threads for a week. i see my ideas requiring alot of computing effort tho on the moderators behalf. but it could help solve the issue. this was my 2 cents worth for today. :(
  13. yeh i will be working my way into it though. I'm in no rush. thats why I'm getting the car running stock first, make sure everything is good. no point putting large amounts of power through when it could have a severe problem. I'm still gonna see how it goes. itll make one hell of an interesting car tho.
  14. they should set up an obsticle course with them, similar to those water fountain things you see in vegas that shoot up in certain patterns on a giant square grid. just keep driving and hope the part your driving over wont be the ones that pop up. That truck may have failed the test miserably, they need to perform one under australian standars: Traffic Pole Vs Kingswood i think id put my money on the kingswood coming out on this one. :y:
  15. yeh but if you think about it why would they not be the same? because if garrett were making it for hks, then the licence expired, why would they change the production line and a few little things to make a slightly gayer turbo? it doesnt make sense, it would be more costly for the company. forgive me if i don't believe it but it just doesnt seem like a big company would do that, it would cost more when they could keep the same production line going. unless they were comparing it to a different GT2871R because garrett make 2 or 3 different versions on there catalogue. and they do carry a difference, but that was because licence hadnt expired with hks. and now that it has they produce the GT-RS version. honestly in the end i don't really care. and this is from what ive read up and found. i could be wrong, but its pointless having this argument because hypothetically even if there is a difference it would be practically nothing as you said. but I'm not interested in making enemies. good to hear that you have a good idea what your talking about though, it makes a good conversation :D .
  16. well as i said earlier, Garrett make turbos for HKS, not a copy, garrett made it for them contract expired, which is why garrett made it and sell it for less. and if you don't believe do some research (not being arrogant or anything, just saying, cause I'm certain HKS don't make their turbos) Havent gotten to fuel pump stage yet. I'm taking it small steps so, my main concerns at the moment is struts and making my gearbox mount, as you can see ive already made the engine mounts so hopefully this weekend the gearbox mount will be done then i can go ahead and start doing some real stuff
  17. yeh that was the 2871R that i came across, if i were to go for it that would be the one id buy, they used to be distributed by HKS at a stupidly high price, but garrett made that turbo for HKS since they didnt make there own, and the contract ran out on it, so Garrett is now making that exact turbo now and cheaper, i can get it from www.horsepowerinabox.com for 1950 with actuator. but i can get 3071R for same price with more power at 20 pound boost. ill get there first then decide what I'm gonna do. the exhaust manifold i have now i got from a mate of mine who will sell it to me if i want it. so I'm gonna see what happens. at the moment its looking like gt30. yeh the only thing though nick is that its not my daily, i have a stock 4k-c ke70 for my daily. no way would i ever be tempted to take it out in the wet. it is fairly fast tho. my mate has a 1985 blue bird wagon with sr in it that makes 350rwkW and ive been in that and it goes hard as f##k. mine wont go that hard but it will be fairly unit. you are thinking like i am tho, I'm gonna get the car running first (stock) make sure no problems etc. i havent had the motor running so, for all i know it could be pinging (hope bloody not), but I'm not a retard to slap on that much power and hope brakes and everything work, that would be dumb. once its done it wont just be for street, would like to run it at drags aswell. also i just bought Power FC for the sr20 so that should be substantial.
  18. nuh car is being built to own people on the street. I'm not much into drifto. I'm more of a straight line kind of person. i look forward to seeing reactions on the street tho. i can already picture the commodore P platers trying to line me up. itll be insane. although i am having a bit of a dilema, see i know i said above I'm gonna get gt3071 turbo, but i was contemplating goin with the gt2871R so i wont have to change manifold and it would still be good for about 250rwkW. i think I'm leaning more to GT30 though. its hard to say no to more power. ill also get it engineered, its expensive over here in adelaide tho, but i don't see why it wont pass, just gotta pass a few tests its engineerable to weld on cross member so I'm doing everything by the book at the moment.
  19. yeh me and a few mates were saying to put a faster acting hydraulic ram beneath it, so when a car drives by you turn it on so it shoots up, all the person see's is there motor come out through the bonnet
  20. oh yeh definately look forward to destruction. here are a few plans for the short future some of you may look forward to seeing: GT3071R turbo, already got the manifold for it. Larger injectors around 700cc LSD Borg Warner diff conversion these are the main things I'm going to be doing, so far I'm just messing around with the struts and doing a brake conversion, in the end ill be aiming for around 300rwkW, but ill settle for a little under between 260-300 will make me a happy man. itll be hard to put the power to the ground but that doesnt really bother me. car will still look tuff. any questions feel free to ask.
  21. atleast if you open up a business tho you know what to invest your money into. have that set up around the perimeter and you can sleep at night knowing no one will ramraid your shop
  22. yeh thanks teddy, i had to do what i could to prevent it goin to a wrecker, it was just sheer luck that when i was looking for ke70's that this lady had it out the front of her house. its also lucky that my grandma lived next door otherwise i would have missed it. good to go tho now. gearbox mount is to be made this weekend then motor is good to go for supporting itself that is. ill keep this thread informed
  23. i came across this video, on you tube. never seen a pole so well designed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZZayp59WRk The replays shown are crazy, this clip will make you think twice about hitting poles, if your a pole hitting person.
  24. I also have my intercooler now, so i have quiet a bit of work to do. here are some pics. 600x300x76
