  1. I see what you want to do. the answer is maybe it can be done, you wont be able to swap the lower control arm though.
  2. I don't know what wagon you have but R31 and KE55 have the same stud pattern. Commodore rear brakes are no better than R31 ones so I'd leave them. Just find a suitable disc and caliper and adapt to the KE55 strut. Or if youre fussy and want the hub locating section the same diameter fornt and rear and have your wheels fitting hub centric on the hub them get some R31 front struts as these fit onto some Corolla steering arms.
  3. Yes and no. Why bother to rebuild when they handle it well. Yes it is 10.0:1, I just guessed as I knew it was in the 10's. It is a bit of a high c/r to start with but if theyre keen on doing it go for it. I personally would run 6spi max until you can afford some 9.0 forged pistons.
  4. Holden V8 LS1 engines have 10.5 c/r and when they turbo them and run 8psi they seem to last well and put out 400+rwkw and becasue of the high c/r they have alot better throttle response and torque. Just make sure you have an excellent aftermarket EMS and get it tuned spot on.
  5. I think so. The 'sports' version are just powdercoated.......
  6. Ok. VT calipers flex under hard braking thats the main reason why some companies use AU ones. Ring John at Cebco brakes or Matt at Race Brakes Sydney and they will tell you. Going from a 19.05mm master cylinder to 1" would probably be ok as its a big jump up in size but there are still better calipers about.
  7. lol It needs to be a 4A-c unfortunately.....
  8. People are starting to realise AU calipers are better than crap VTs. I wonder what size calipers pistons AUII calipers have.....
  9. Does anyone in Tassie have a good AE82 4A-C engine?? Ring John on 6354 2166
  10. I wouldnt use VT calipers...you need a massive master cylinder to fill them with fluid! Id suggest RX7 or VB-VS Commodore calipers and Mini discs. These discs only need drilling to 4x100 and a bit chamfered of the hole and they bolt on.
  11. I think he works at a Mitsubishi dealership. Go a 28 spline diff, some V8 Fords are 4 pinion 28 spline, VL turbos and V8 are too, and all VN Commodores onwards. Factory LSD's are crap and not worth the hassle. Just get a 28 spline axle non LSD Skyline diff and fit the Lokka into it. OR you can get them separate: get a Pintara/Skyline housing/ brakes Get 28 spline Skyline axles VN, VP, VR or VS 28 spline diff centre Lokka diff
  12. A Prado 5VZ-FE would be good........ 3.4L V6 EFI
  13. A Steve Knight in Adelaide used to race a 4G63 Sigma in IPRA class with a supra box behind it. Contact: Steve Knight Adelaide, Australia (08) 8325 1197 Sounds like a great conversion, one I had never thought of... A 3.7 or 3.9 28 spline Skyline diff would be ideal, just fit a Lokka centre from http://www.4wdsystems.com.au/html/lokka.htm and away you go! You can always change to a 4.1 Pintara centre if needed.
  14. does that pushrod go on an angle towards the pedal? About 10 years ago I did a conversion and I thought i had the pushrod come straight out and a long bolt went off to the RHS and attach to the pedal? I can't remember.... :)
  15. thanks. I am a Toyota parts interpreter. I had a customer try and tell me he is missing a dowell which locates the bottom of his idler pulley bracket but I can't find it on the EPC and the bearings don't come with it. I was just trying to see if anyone else had heard of it.
  16. Hi guys, I need to see if anyone can look at their 4A-GE timing belt idler bearing and see if there is a dowell on the bottom of the bracket to help it locate. The dowell fits into the block apparently. Or can someone take a close up pic of one please that would be sweet. cheers.
  17. Using S13 gear on Toyotas gives you massive bump steer problems. For a good brake converison, use series 4 or 5 RX7 calipers and some new Mini discs. VT calipers will be hopeless unless you have a massive master cylinder to fill the 2 BIG pistons. These also should be used with 28mm wide discs, you might get away with using 26mm but no less.
  18. excellent! now I need the 2 more measurements. I wonder how much narrower the KE10 diff is?
  19. KE70, AE71 sedans /wagons have a 43? mm strut OD AE86 and AE71 panel vans have the 51mm OD strut. not sure about KE70 vans
  20. Does anyone have a KE10, KE20 or KE30 diff layng round? Can you measure these for me please?

  22. Awesome car! I love it! :y: Funny thing is, it's exactly what I want to build! :D

  25. I can't see how just swapping calipers of the same design (single piston sliding) while keeping the same disc is an upgrade thats all! Yeah i'll write up an article and post it up for sure.
