Seen a nice yellow KE70 wagon around a couple of times.

Alternator went on my way home from Sydney and limped into Campbelltown. Had it replaced plus cost of a motel room. Is it possible to replace the diodes or regulator, and keep it as a spare? Thanks PM

2 times AE82 Secas. All parts except engines coz they got REAL hot.

Hi Derek And welcome. I find my wagon tends to skip across the dirt and slides a bit. Hard to get lots of power down for decent power slides. On the tar though she surprises a lot of people, esp Subby owners :-) PM

So I Have To Buy A Long 8Mm Socket?
Rolla Newbie replied to BenH_Ke70's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
FWIW I use Blackwoods for really obscure tools. I want into the shop in Darwin, asked for a 1/4drive, extra long 5/8 socket. "Own an FJ?" he asked. He was spot on, it is used to remove the bold from the bottom on the A pillar. He reckons only early Holden users buy that socket. ++ to Blackwoods -

My 4age Definetly Needs Backpressure I Think
Rolla Newbie replied to ca18det_ae86's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
Sorry guys but I am a little stunned about one of the comments saying that the exhaust makes little difference. They are crucial, otherwise there would be no industry and magick needs to be used. Without back pressure you are going to burn out exhaust valves in no time at all. Go see a specialist or a performance tuner. Do you want fuel economy, driveability, or all out performance? But be warned, witchcraft will be invoked :-) And it makes a huge difference and can make is sound bloody awesome as a nice little by-line. Smelly -
Hi guys I am after a FRH guard and a drivers front door for the AE82, preferably in white. Any one got anything? Paul
-
Make sure that it is compatible. They are wired differently for a reason. You don't want to blow the ECU.
-
Thinking doing something just a little different.... Going AWD but using a Tercel and a 4AGE but could be interesting. But still bloody ugly. Need to work out front cross-member, possible AE71 as the 3A was in the Tercel. And no central diff could casue problems. Just an random thought train.

Now that I am out of KE70s I am after some 15" steel wheels to suit an AE82. I have some good tyres but the rims are 4x108, and not 4x100. Or alloysw if anyone has some. Cheers Paul

Overheating / Temp Sender Dramas...
Rolla Newbie replied to jackbyo's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Probaly a dumb question, but have you had the actual gauge checked, not just the sender? Another test is to put the heater on and check the air coming out and see how hot it is. If burning, there is a hassle, if not, I would get an a sensor and gauge kit. Smelly -
Hi all AE82 4AC starts beautifully even in winter in Canberra. Idles ok when warming up. But after a good run and it is nice and warm the idle runs fast. Is there any densor I can whip off to see if it is faulty? Still learning these cars.... Smelly

Buy a pair of matching locks from SuperAutoOne. My last pair were about $65. An easy quick and reasonable cheap fix. Smelly

Set of 4 alloy Toyota wheels for a KE70, the factory alloys. Two with tyres, two without. Any interest? Offer? Beer is negotiable :-) Paul

Thanks guys, tried Trevs trick and hey work. Will see how she goes in summer. And yes it is good to see a smart failsafe for once.
-
Thanks Trev, will try that tonight. Paul

A comfortable seat. A few beers. Some rubber gloves. Some thinners. And patience. Some more beers. Once it is all off, wash the car and get some polish on the paint ASAP. Then sit back, look at the good job, and reward yourself with a beer. If there are any left......

Hi all, I am new to the world of FWD, having had KE70s for years. I have noticed that sometimes the temp gauge in my AE82 slowly creeps up to about 5/8. Seems normal, but I want to check before summer gets here. How do I test that the thermo fan is working ok? Is there something I can short out, or measure to see if it is kicking in? I know the other fan is for the A/C, but am learning on this beasty. Cheers Paul
