Thanks Trev, I didnt realise there was a punch out section. The tops are rare as! I came flying around a corner and hit a rough patch and the top of the dash simply disintegrated. Was quite funny, my son and I pissed ourselves laughing.

I am fixing up a AE82 Seca hatch for my daughter. I am after a dash mat with the hole for the clock, and also the plastic top of the cluster. Last one fell to bits on a rough dirt road. Had nothing to do with my spedd........ Smelly PS Afraid the KE70 has gone.

A friend with benefits has not replaced her timing belt in a while. Does she know how long? Of course not LOL! So exactly how hard is it to change the timing belt? I have done it on 4cyl Volvos a few times but not on an east west motor. Any advice appreciated and yes I have FAQed. Smelly

I have an 82 and the fuel gauge is dodgy and usually shows empty. Off the scale empty. But when it gets low, and has about 10 litres left in it, it shows as down in the last quarter of the gauge. Any clues guys? Paul

I was at super cheap at Q town looking for a dash mat for the kE70. No joy. But I found two for KE 30/35. Pulled them off and lay them on the display unit below the dash mats just in case any one was after a new one. Paul

Use the proper gasket, they are pretty cheap. Mind you getting the bolt undone on the front of the middle exhaust is a bitch. Come from underneath, use a universal on the socket and and extension...... Plus a lot of gasket goo is not suitable for exhaust temps. And it would be a messy shitty job to do. PM

You might want to research steering arm lengths as non P/S ones are often slightly longer to give you more mechanical advantage. This is the case on quite a few cars. If you put P/S on long steering arms it might get too light and turn scary........ PM

Hi all, Picked up a tacho dash and swapped over fine, with all bits working except the LCD clock doesnt light up. The old clock worked fine. Is there another fuse I should be looking for? I am guessing the clock may well be u/s. Or is there something simple I am overlooking. If not, I guess I can replace it with an aftermarket one but would like original if possible. Cheers PM

Still, you didn't lose the whole car- an alarm helps heaps if you're nearby, and a kill switch slows them down a minute until they find it or re-route it. The steering bar things just say "Hey I'm difficult, try the car next door without one..." A mate of mine used a steering lock in his car. He never had a key for it so it was never locked but it was never even broken into for loose change.
