The original concept was supposed to be a modern re-incarnation of the AE86. Lightweight, two doors, rear drive. Then the FHI buy-in happened, then the target demographic shifted. So now we have this thing, which I reckon is no longer anything like what the original concept was supposed to be, and instead is aimed squarely at the 370Z. Which is also why I believe they trademarked 'FR-S', because the final production car won't be anything like an 86, so won't be referenced in its name.

This is the new Supra. ( I reckon ) This is why they re-applied to extend copyright on the name. I mean look at it... All the signature design elements are there. Specfically the side windows and front gaurds. It reeks of JZA80. And its effing huge. The smaller FR coupe will be the 'new ae86'

Reminds me of a car which isn't light and powered by a rev happy 4 cyl. This thing is competition for the Zed. Don't want. There are rumours of a smaller FR coupe in the works though...

NA used to have its advantages, but I'm firmly of the belief technology has overcome those differences. For instance, my JZX100 with VVTi and single turbo develops peak torque @1500rpm and holds a steady linear power curve all the way to 8 grand. No throttle delay at any point, no lag whatsoever. Mash pedal, scenery disappears. This is why I can't drive 4AGE anymore. They're old, slow and only generate their measly 100kw at ludicrous rpm.
