The original concept was supposed to be a modern re-incarnation of the AE86. Lightweight, two doors, rear drive.
Then the FHI buy-in happened, then the target demographic shifted.
So now we have this thing, which I reckon is no longer anything like what the original concept was supposed to be, and instead is aimed squarely at the 370Z.
Which is also why I believe they trademarked 'FR-S', because the final production car won't be anything like an 86, so won't be referenced in its name.
