Hello All, Spring is upon us and it's the perfect time to polish those chrome bumpers and shine those vinyl roofs. Would like to offer an invitation to any and all, but specifically to those that have cars with chrome bumpers to attend a morning hills drive on Sunday the 13th of October. Details: Time: Departs at 10:30am, but I'll be there from 9:00am to meet and greet. Place: Burnside village South East Carpark, accessed of Portrush Rd (See image below if unsure.) Pace: I'll be driving my 1966 Corona with no seatbelts, so not too fast Who is welcome: Everybody, but especially those with chromed up cars. Route: Will be through the hills towards Lobethal, Maps provided on the day which will include the final destination, if you lose the group. Please post up if you're able to attend. Regards Jordan

Hmm, Should I bring the fire breathing, avgas burining, striped out TA22 Sports Sedan or the overrated 1966 RT40 corona with 50,000kms on the clock. Both from SA, so I can only take 1... Jordan

Henry (KE20ME) in his KE10 and I, in my RT40 made the full run. Was a great day albeit rather unsafe as there are no seat belts in my Corona. There were some amazing cars out, though there is a definite lack of Japanese metal at the event. Make sure you get your entries in early next year, to bolster the count. Jordan

I've got a shed in Goolwa (well Hindmarsh Island) which has +12 car bays. -If you want to stash a car there it'll be $100 per month per car ;) -There is 10,000L of rain water on site that is drinkable(tested.) -It's in the Fresh water zone, 50m from the boat ramp -Has 4 m ceilings, with 3m high doors. -It's locked up -Site is powered. And it's that lack of rules that I love about Sports Sedans. Be warned however: if you've got a 4L you're in class S1 against 6L Chev's and turbo 13 and 20B's. That's why I've gone <2.0L turbo (using a highly strung CA18DET) that puts me in class S2, maximum NA engines of 3500cc, no turbo rotaries (well a 10A doesn't count.) Also Wheel arch flares cannot exceed 100mm in width. Dam :( Best of luck though, it'll be a wild ride. Jordan

Hello All, After the enjoyment of my last little Sunday morning cruise in November 2010, I think it's time for another. As with the last it won’t be a thrash through the Adelaide Hills (as the RT40 doesn't like that.) It'll simply be an enjoyment of autumn in the Adelaide Hills on a Sunday Morning with a bunch of classic Toyotas (all makes and models welcome.) No Doubt we'll finish at a bakery somewhere, probably Balhanna, or maybe the Norton Summit Hotel. Hope to get a few photos along the way ;) Key facts: Meet place: Burnside village, upper South East Car park. Same as last time Time: I'll be there at 7:30am, but the show will get rolling at 9:00am Date: Sunday, March 13. Finish: Expect to be home by lunch time. Thanks to those that turned up. We also had the opportunity to perv on some very tidy lotus 7 replicas running simply the tidiest 4AGE-20V RWD conversions getting around. We also saw the NSX club (among a few others) dust off their rides, must have been over 20 NSX's :o. I know it was early, but it did get quiet warm later in the day and that's why it was an early'ish start. The hills were in stunning spring colours and it finished at the Birdwood motor museum which has a fantastic bakery next to it. Thanks again to those that attended, and I'll see you all next year in March/April for the next Sunday morning cruise. Reason for the early start is to try and beat some of the heat as most classic toyotas aren't graced with air conditioning. Will be great to see as many as possible. Jordan

Hello All, I've just bought another old RT40 corona, and what better way to celebrate than go for a scenic drive in the Adelaide Hills on a Sunday morning. Meet point will be the South East car park of Burnside Village. As this is a "Classic Toyota Cruize" the pace will be mild. did you just simply turbo the NA motor? because if you did I think you'll find that the pistons are much higher in compression, the rods are much weaker, and that you don't have under piston oil squirter's. My recomendation is to pick up a busted CA18DET and rebuild that with forged pistons (get them for the states for ~$650, see dragonautomotive.com wiseco pistons) 150RWkW on 13PSi is a little down for a CA, try raising the rev limit to 8000 or 8500. Mine made 150RWkW on 10PSi @8000RPM with stock injectors, AFM and a GTiR T28. with a GT28RS and 440cc injectors you should be looking at +200RWkW numbers. Cheers Jordan
