  1. Hello All, Spring is upon us and it's the perfect time to polish those chrome bumpers and shine those vinyl roofs. Would like to offer an invitation to any and all, but specifically to those that have cars with chrome bumpers to attend a morning hills drive on Sunday the 13th of October. Details: Time: Departs at 10:30am, but I'll be there from 9:00am to meet and greet. Place: Burnside village South East Carpark, accessed of Portrush Rd (See image below if unsure.) Pace: I'll be driving my 1966 Corona with no seatbelts, so not too fast Who is welcome: Everybody, but especially those with chromed up cars. Route: Will be through the hills towards Lobethal, Maps provided on the day which will include the final destination, if you lose the group. Please post up if you're able to attend. Regards Jordan
  2. Hmm, Should I bring the fire breathing, avgas burining, striped out TA22 Sports Sedan or the overrated 1966 RT40 corona with 50,000kms on the clock. Both from SA, so I can only take 1... Jordan
  3. Dam-it.I'm up at the mine site that weekend. Hopefully next year. JA
  4. Henry (KE20ME) in his KE10 and I, in my RT40 made the full run. Was a great day albeit rather unsafe as there are no seat belts in my Corona. There were some amazing cars out, though there is a definite lack of Japanese metal at the event. Make sure you get your entries in early next year, to bolster the count. Jordan
  5. My RT40 turquoise green Shovel nose Corona (RT40.) will be part of the main bunch. See you there Jordan
  6. I've got a shed in Goolwa (well Hindmarsh Island) which has +12 car bays. -If you want to stash a car there it'll be $100 per month per car ;) -There is 10,000L of rain water on site that is drinkable(tested.) -It's in the Fresh water zone, 50m from the boat ramp -Has 4 m ceilings, with 3m high doors. -It's locked up -Site is powered. Rules are that you clean up your mess  The plan is to have a hoist, welder and pneumatics in there by December. email is: [email protected] or call 0411 968-914. Cheers Jordan
  7. And it's that lack of rules that I love about Sports Sedans. Be warned however: if you've got a 4L you're in class S1 against 6L Chev's and turbo 13 and 20B's. That's why I've gone <2.0L turbo (using a highly strung CA18DET) that puts me in class S2, maximum NA engines of 3500cc, no turbo rotaries (well a 10A doesn't count.) Also Wheel arch flares cannot exceed 100mm in width. Dam :( Best of luck though, it'll be a wild ride. Jordan
  8. Hello All, After the enjoyment of my last little Sunday morning cruise in November 2010, I think it's time for another. As with the last it won’t be a thrash through the Adelaide Hills (as the RT40 doesn't like that.) It'll simply be an enjoyment of autumn in the Adelaide Hills on a Sunday Morning with a bunch of classic Toyotas (all makes and models welcome.) No Doubt we'll finish at a bakery somewhere, probably Balhanna, or maybe the Norton Summit Hotel. Hope to get a few photos along the way ;) Key facts: Meet place: Burnside village, upper South East Car park. Same as last time Time: I'll be there at 7:30am, but the show will get rolling at 9:00am Date: Sunday, March 13. Finish: Expect to be home by lunch time. I know it's early, but autumn is such a great time in the Adelaide Hills and it pays to get out early. See you there Jordan
  9. why oh why can't you be in Perth. I'm looking for a shitter as a run around.
  10. Engine calculator spreadsheet Follow the readme below and comments for best results Importantly the Read-me file so that it's not such a jumble. Cheers Jordan
  11. Thanks to those that turned up. We also had the opportunity to perv on some very tidy lotus 7 replicas running simply the tidiest 4AGE-20V RWD conversions getting around. We also saw the NSX club (among a few others) dust off their rides, must have been over 20 NSX's :o. I know it was early, but it did get quiet warm later in the day and that's why it was an early'ish start. The hills were in stunning spring colours and it finished at the Birdwood motor museum which has a fantastic bakery next to it. Thanks again to those that attended, and I'll see you all next year in March/April for the next Sunday morning cruise. Jordan P.S: Your 33 year old leaf springs have nothing on my 44 year old rear leafs and lack of any seat belts ;)
  12. Reason for the early start is to try and beat some of the heat as most classic toyotas aren't graced with air conditioning. Will be great to see as many as possible. Jordan
  13. Hello All, I've just bought another old RT40 corona, and what better way to celebrate than go for a scenic drive in the Adelaide Hills on a Sunday morning. Meet point will be the South East car park of Burnside Village. As this is a "Classic Toyota Cruize" the pace will be mild. A drive to enjoy classic cars, a feed at the Birdwood pub washed down with a cleansing ale. See you all Sunday morning. Jordan P.S: Cruize route map provided.
  14. The 2T is a hemi, head design is real simple. get and orange, cut it in half. Jordan
  15. did you just simply turbo the NA motor? because if you did I think you'll find that the pistons are much higher in compression, the rods are much weaker, and that you don't have under piston oil squirter's. My recomendation is to pick up a busted CA18DET and rebuild that with forged pistons (get them for the states for ~$650, see dragonautomotive.com wiseco pistons) 150RWkW on 13PSi is a little down for a CA, try raising the rev limit to 8000 or 8500. Mine made 150RWkW on 10PSi @8000RPM with stock injectors, AFM and a GTiR T28. with a GT28RS and 440cc injectors you should be looking at +200RWkW numbers. Cheers Jordan
  16. Well yes the CT20b (ST205 turbo) is "better" than the CT26 off the ST185, but only in that it's slightly larger. Keep in mind that a CT26 will still net +170RwkW, as they are known to make 170AWkW. and for $320 for a brand new turbo, dam, I'm tempted. looks like a lot of fun Jordan
  17. ok, the reason I suggested that was that there is also a corresponding minor fall in boost pressure, and it's not uncommon to see a ever so slight dip in power at that point. No doubt you'll keep us posted Jordan
  18. Looks great, and I bet is a real laugh to drive :D The flat spot in your dyno curve is likely to be the point where the wastegate is opening. It's nothing seriously worth worring about. Cheers Jordan
  19. The car only cost $450, and was port wine in colour. Yeah they are Keihin slides ;) Cheers Jordan
  20. I'm rather confident that it'll be unique, as I've never seen a 20V on carbies before, let alone slide carbies. I'm always on the lookout for RT40 parts, especially bumpers, hub caps, dash pad, pannels. let me know what you've got and in what condition. email is: [email protected] Cheers Jordan
  21. I've decided to go in a different direction with this car and just bought a new engine for the old girl. it's a 4A-GE 20V, running 45mm slide carburetors, stainless extractors and waste spark electronic ignition. All the RWD conversion stuff has been done and comes with a TODA clutch and flywheel package. Should make the old girl get up and go. Cheers Jordan
  22. I'd come sunday, but I'm out at Mallala racing. Cheers Jordan
  23. Hello SA faithful, I'm coming back to Adelaide this weekend so it's another good excuse to organise a meetup. Start point will be here (same as last time,) (just before you get to St. Bernards Rd as you're headding out of town along magill RD) at: 6:30PM for a 7:30 get go. There will be a map and pace notes provided (well at least wirtten directions) provided on the night, (sorry about last time.) The cruise should take about 90 minutes in the hills, it will be quick, and we'll finish up at the "Summit" hotel for a relaxing dinner/drink before going our seperate ways. There will be 2 or 3 catch up points designated along the route. Cheers Jordan
  24. I can't believe you got the external wastegate on your ebay manifold, in a KE30!!! I had to remodle the strut tower in my TA22 to get the high mount set up to work. Looking very good Jordan
  25. Hello, and might I say good luck. Some advice: -Toss the T25 in favour of almost anything else. T28 off a GTiR is a blast. look even to a new garrett unit (GT2871R is my pic and will fit in the stock location, GT2876R or larger requires a highmount as I found out.) -The tape measure is your friend when it comes to radiators. Measure the hole then go the the wrecking yards. Old volvo's, and hyundi's are a good place to start, but keep an open mind and just keep measuring, eventually you'll find the perfect fit. -I've got a reflashed computer and RB20AFM you can have for $250. (the reflased computer worked fine on a 180SX, but I have wiring issues in my car.) -Get friendly with your angle grinder, dremil and or di-grinder. you'll be doing plenty of cutting. If you've got any questions I've basically rebuilt the car twice, even after buying it as a perfectly running car, feel free to ask. email is '[email protected]' Cheers Jordan
