  1. don'tforget that Series 4 RX7 injectors are a drop in replacement, RB20 AFMs are easy to wire up and the ECU's remap great. Cheers jordan
  2. These are my new pistons that with the 1mm TODA Head gasket will raise my compression ratio to a little over 12:1 Cheers Jordan
  3. well if you keep the standard locks all a potential theif needs to do is look at the carthe right way and it'll open. Jordan
  4. 3S GTE will bolt up to the Y series bell housing :D Jordan
  5. Dude, GT20 way too small. use a GTiR T28 for something cheap that'll get you 180RWkW no worries, but wont be too restrictive on the exhaust side because of the 0.86 T2 rear housing. If you've got some spare cash look to a GT30R with 0.63 T3 rear housing. but expect to pop and old astron pretty quick with one of them. GT20's are good for 1.3L 4K's not 2.6L astrons unless you watn boost at idel and then it to be all out of ideas by 3000RPM. Cheers Jordan
  6. the wheels are major gay. but thats ok since your from sydney, and wheel sizes begin at 17" for you chaps  with width stopping at 6.5" seriously though, no larger than a 15 on a k-series. the car will handel better (less rotating mass, less unsprung mass.) You also have to have the car jacked up so high so that the wheels will fit under the guards. Get some dish, it's an old school car so use old skool rims. this is my TA22 You be the judge jordan
  7. any idea how much curry the old war horse makes? Cheers Jordan
  8. Now lets just look at what you've said: swapping cranks/rods/pistons between blocks is common place so that ok :D However when you change to a longer stroke crank (in this case the L20) you increse the stroke, which is the whoe idea. Jordan P.S: spending money on a L20 is like spending money on a toyota R series engine (-RG virsions excluded, we're talking iron, non-crossflow heads here, stuff like the 2R, 4R, 18R.) It sounds like a good idea, it even feels like a good idea, and when people tell you not to it makes you want to do it all the more. However as all have found out, unless your class racing (and you're not) it is a bad idea. Especially when you have to go to the effort of swapping one into a different chassie.
  9. that's why I used it, petrol safe. A mante I have attempted to fix an exhaust with it. was a little too close to the engine (in the manifold) worked brillinetly for minutes, then started o smell funny. Eventually we were back to square1 no suprise really. Cheers Jordan
  10. how do you want the rust repaired. If you want it welded up then any crash repairer, but be warned it wont be cheap. if you want you're welcome to bring it round and I'll show you how to clean and cut the rust out, apply the protective coatings, bog up and sand to the correct finish. Cheers jordan
  11. hope you've got $8000 spare. buy that KE20 with an FJ20 for $6800 on car sales and fiddle with the suspension. If you're keen to go ahed though: The 1G will fit in with no firewall mods, this is desiable especially if you plan to drive it on the road. Other engines worht considering are the CA18DET, good for 180RWkW with a T28, RB injectors/AFM and a metal head gasket. If you're going rings and the rest it's be very reliable. SR's are good but need injectors and afm to get there as well, head gasket and a freshen up never hurt anyone. both stock ECU's will remap very well. Could use a late model GZE block and big port head, give it a freshen up (the stock pistons are amazing) buy an ebay exhaust manifold and strap on a T28, once agian good for about 180RWkW but will be a little more laggy. The problem with 6Cylinders is there is 6 or 24 of everythig, rather than 4 or 16 (8 in some) of everyting. They also tend to be heavier. $ for $ the CA18 with a T28 / RB20DET AFM/ FC3S RX7 500 or 550cc injectors / metal head gasket and a remap is hard to beat. Cheers Jordan
  12. Hey Trev, looking sharp. I'm doing a bigport NA swap into my RT40 corona, using twin solex PPH40's (bought a part finished project off MAtt (RKE_11)) I'm keeping a diary and will post up everything I've done once it's in and finished. also using Wiseco 12:1 pistons :D This is the head as it currently stands (Linkages by Rodger, though ones for webers are different. Pitty you weren't looking when these came up for auction. use "kneadIT, Auto Fix" to fill the injector ports, Look here to see how I've done it. You'll need to buy a low pressure high volume electric fuel pump, cost ~$80 or value can be found on ebay. I'm using one of those 'megajolt' built it yourself ignition computers running wasted spark, I'll let you know how it flys. Word is a 4K dizzy with some love works? Cheers jordan
  13. don't bother with supercharging a CA18. for the power you'll get and the effort required just strap on a turbo Cheers Jordan
  14. had a toyoglide in my rt40, know all about slow. Cheers Jordan
  15. the RB20 AFM is 3" in diameter, and is much better at measureing airflow above 150RWkW. just need to fiddle with the wires to get it wored up correctly Jordan
  16. Repping the ToyoGlide. Cheers Jordan
  17. looking super tidy, what motor and carbs? Cheers Jordan
  18. remps are good expecially if you get your ecu remapped on a Dyno. RB20 AFM's are also a great upgrade for $100. Cheers Jordan
  19. I've never had bad luck with the 2TG, my old one loved the spankings it got up past 8000. Driven plenty of others no trouble at all. Guess you can't help bad luck Jordan
  20. -If you've got an engine crane, it's always good to dummy up the motor overthe standard cross member. -If you don't have an engine crane, nows a great time to buy one. -Cutsom mounts are the way to go, it should't sit too high, is you mount the engin correctly. -If you've got the cash go hilux straight off the back, get it cut and shut to the correct length, if not the stoko diff should hold up ok to 4AG power levels -You need to do the same to your tail shaft with a T50 yoke and whatever diff you end up using. -Have a look at Darvos' thread. Cheers Jordan
  21. Jordan

    Ke30

that's a whole lot of torque. it's going to be a serious tyre sredder. be great to see the dyno sheets Jordan
  22. I'm yet to have tailshaft made up to fit the 4AGE conversion. I'll be running 13x7" kidney mags with 205/60R13 rubber, however the stoko's and hubbies will make an apperance for shows and poser cruzes. If it's too low or too stiff, I can always play musical leaves to get a happy medium, only takes an hour or so to pull them aout and reinstall. Cheers Jordan
