Rb20 In A Ke70: You Guys Recon Its Possible?
Jordan replied to ke70_sa's topic in General Mechanical
Got a CA18DET in my TA22, stripped out, lights up 4th in a striaght line with 195's stretched onto 8's. hey if anybody's got a 125hp 4k, that's nuts, I want in. Back on topic, I'd stay clear of th RB, more moving parts, larger, heavyer..... Look towards a CA18DET, they are getting real cheap and make good power, SR if you can stomach the tractor noise they try to pass off as an exhaust. Ont the Toyota front, 3SGTE (need RWD conversion, not overly difficult,) 3TGTE or 1G. or even a 4AGZE, look possibly at a 4A-GTE conversion It's up to you, hell even a 13b conversion or BP18 out of an MX5 Cheers jordan -
I've got 15x8 Challengers. they have a -9 offset (and are also avalaiable in 15x10, ok that's a bit out there but hey.) the 15x8's "will" fit under your guards, with 50 profile rubber and tyres no wider than 205. I've got them on my TA22 (and they look hot) with 195/50R15's and the back is fine but guard rubbing is a problem, as the car is quite low. Cheers Jordan

I think you'll find that a 5K has the same stroke with a lager bore;) on the stroking a 4k don't bother, buy a 5 or 7 K or jsut get a 2TG or 4AGE which will crap on both of them. Cheers Jordan

Jordan replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in The Event Archive
If this happens again next year, I'll make the effort to not be (I use the word as nicly as possible :)) Stuck here on the west coast of Tassie. Would love to do a great ocean road Odyssey. JOrdan -
good work on putting a CA18 into a KE55, I'f got one in my celica (TA22, or should I say CAA22) goes great, just need to fix up the handeling. Cheers Jordan
-
I'll make the start, but if it goes into the hills the mighty 2Speed corona may struggle. Might have a rolla by then, but not sure. Cheers Jordan

for ultimate easy to can run a suck through set up, no intercooler. Sigma turbo carbies work well. Jordan

twin solex's cam on the 1588CC 2TG. They should be fine as a pair, jsut get them tuned properly. Jordan

the series 4/5 RX7 motor is good for about 140-150kw at the treads stock with fuel cut removed, pod filter and exhaust. Will also have more torque than your 12a bridge' and be less peaky. good move jordan
-
Nice build up. gotta love the sound of the Solex's. Jordan

I know the 2TG cam in the Jap TE2X levins, but what needs to be done to get one in a KE20, notes gearbox would be a T50. Cheers Jordan

Cheers, I'm almost finished the readme file, so hoefully that'll make it even easier to use. Jordan

follow this link to download the excel file: http://www.savefile.com/files/286632 (sorry if it dowloads a little slow) Yellow is user input, all other cells contain the calculations. For locating compressor maps try: http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbotech.html however the final release will include a host of compressor maps in the zip file. Lastly if your using the program in a serious mannor be honest and the answers calculated will be accurate or slightly conservative. There is a problem with the torque curve, with values are around half of what they should be. Other than that it's almost finished. Cheers Jordan P.S: I'm currently worknig on a "readme" user guide file to occampany this.

keep it as a cruzer, the interior is overrated, and uber comfortable. Not sure what I'll have as a hills'e car. either work on my TA22, buy another GT4 or buy something already done. That's a decission I'll be making in March when I get back from Tassie. This one's just for driving from A-B with no fuss from the cops, and for cruzing down to the bay on a Friday night. Jordan

I bought this car from Nick in Nuriopta in SA's, the pics seem to have dissapeared but here's the thread link: (Cheers KJ for posting it up) http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=9118 here it is now: Photo taken atop Cradle Mt. on Wednesday the 15th of Novemeber on my way to Queenstown, tasmania. Just for the record: 1968 Toyota Corona RT40 sedan seating for 6 now black with fender mirrors 52,500mils on the clock 2speed toyoglide automatic transmission, coupled to the 1500cc 2R engine The engine Didn't miss a beat on the 1000+km journey, just was a little slow up the mountains, and has a top speed of ~120km/h on the flat. The only issue was that as I was driving from St. Kilda to the docks on tuesday the front left brake shoes faild. However in Devenport in Tassie the local brake man had 2 sets of shoes to fit. Got to be lucky sometime. Cheers Jordan

take my 2speed 1698 corona there, it gets to 100km an hour... eventually Jordan

Adelaide Jap had one not long ago engine, box, loom and ecu for under $4500. While that's expencive, you get a fair bit for your $$'s invested. Jordan However should you want an earlier modle 3SG(T)E I've got one in a GT4 that's for sale (the whole car is for sale so you wont be missing anything.) car is drivable, engine bay and gear box are un damaged. whole car with new front brakes is $3000 ono. email on [email protected]

here's a picky note the blacktop sits vertical, so no slant. note stock intake and exhaust. Jordan :jamie: Spelling Fairy says: Also note the spelling of vertical, stock and exhaust

don't bother much with a 12a, they're all older than 1988, and have all been thrashed. (Hey it's a rota, they all get thashed) 13b-6ports that came in the NA FC3S RX7 (series 4 and 5) are not bad if you're not going to be porting it. If you are however, get a turbo block (4 port) and have it rebuilt with NA rotars (higher comp) with an extend or bridge port. A single 48mm IDA weber and the thing will sound tuff as nuts. Out of a good bridge port you can be looking at 130kw+ at the rear wheels. Keep in mind though that the wilder the port the worse the low end ride. BP's wont idle much below 1300/1500RPM andmay buck and kick a little while cruzing at low speed. jordan

From wikipedia.org with relation to the blacktop 3SGE BEAMS engine "In 1998 a second version was released with dual VVT-i (variable timing on both the intake and exhaust cams), titanium valves and a slightly higher compression ratio. This engine powered the Altezza RS200 (IS200 in Aus with crappy 1G-FE) and produced around 206 bhp (154kW)." NOTE: It's a RWD engine also the had a lovely 6-speed box behind them. me thinks if you're doing a 3SGe conversion into a rolla it would be easier to use one of these motors. especially since they have much more stick than the earlier ones Jordan
