  1. nah its just sitting on there for now the top spins to where ever so just have to spin the carby around when i bolt everything on for good
  2. I also think that the auto was the best idea as the standard manuals arnt going to be reliable enough with boost to use as a work car, as this car is purely a delivery vehicle for my car parts business. i also think it will help the diff survive longer than a manual so saves me having to upgrade that. The only thing I'm worried about is how well it will run with the camshaft as it really is massive but i think i can live with that for the sound :). also the auto only cost me $1000 for full rebuild, extra clutches, manual valve body and convertor i have the contacts, would normally be a $2000 gearbox heres a couple of more pictures. I'm also chasing a ke55 auto speedo cable if anyone has something?
  3. its a gilroys gearbox and convertor, the convertor should be around 3500rpm and has a full manual valve body and heaps more clutches than standard so should be good
  4. motor and gearbox is in, will be interesting to see how the convertor works. not to many people have done a histall convertor for a 1.3 with boost and large camshaft lol
  5. Getting closer should have gearbox back this week and can put the engine in and start to make pipework for turbo
  6. i would not recommend the gas strut conversion this is the second van that i have removed some from and both had bent hinges, when closed the gas struts are still putting pressure on the tail gate and over time bend the hinges and you have a gap at the top of the tail gate and roof.
  7. the struts were already on the car and don't work very well but if i end up keeping them and make it wirk will put pics up
  8. ive got the square headlights and brackets thats it no grille
  9. trimatic is good for 300-400hp just needs some more clutches and a valve body
  10. yeh it is tidy inside paint is getting a bit sad. do you have the KE18 still? i saw it there looks a little different from when i had it
  11. I spent alot of time this week on the van, all new shocks, springs, brake pads, rotors, drums, cylinders, ball joints and steering, bushes, wheel bearings. The best part of owing your own parts shop is parts are cheap    . Also cleaned underneath while everything was out and gave it a coat of black. looks much better.
  12. i couldnt help myself so i bought an eflex sensor, i also cleaned up the engine bay so thought black intake and turbo was the go and will be making some stainless cooler pipes.
  13. Spent some time today stripping the yellow van getting it ready for some boost, also thinking about possibly selling the 5k with weber and extractors and 5 speed out of it if anyone is chasing one.
  14. the idea with the trimatic is that its alot stronger than a 5 speed corolla box so would be alot more reliable with the power but still undecided
  15. you knew i couldnt stay away
  16. yep its got rust thats why I'm going to use the yellow one
  17. its got no engine or box in it, its pretty much a parts car these days
  18. nope still got the hilux you want to buy it :)
  19. I'm trying to keep the white one original so was thinking about building the yellow one as my work van, i have a 4k with big camshaft and a trimatic in the shed, slotted rotors, xt130 corona control arms, brand new weber and turbo hat, intercooler, 1jz turbo so it will be getting all of that to start with. I will also possibly be selling the 5k and 5 speed out of it if anyone is interested, comes complete with weber 32/36 and extractors.
  20. Thought it was about time to get back on here and put some pictures of the ke36's that ive been collecting. The white one i bought from Vic and drove 1700 kms home in one hit it loved it, had 45000kms original when i got it 3 months ago and now has around 54000kms as ive been using it as my parts delivery van for my car parts business. The black one has been around for a few years i built it about 3 years ago and its been slightly molested with the owners inbetween, the yelow one is 5k and 5speed with weber carby. and the blue one is just for parts,
  21. haha nice work
  22. doing both can get most parts for standard and performance applications. Check out my ebay store Jzparts, or like me on facebook Goleby's Parts.
  23. lol, ive been busy starting my own car parts business so funds had to go to it, plus i have been buying all the ke36 panelvans i can find :) I'm keen to get the new computer in over the next month and jam some boost into it
