  1. I know it is a W series box but not exactly sure what model. I found it at the tip to use just for dummy fit. I will still be using the corolla pedals, but will be converting to hydraulic clutch. The bell housing I bought came with the clutch fork on the driver side so all I have to do is custom fit the rest. I got news too guys, not heaps flash but it is another thing. I just sandblasted my brake calipers and painted them gloss black, they look much better. I also purchased a caliper overhaul kit so the brakes will be practically new when I install them into the car. Heres some pics. Sandblasted Painted Oh, and brand new braided brake lines
  2. It's a nice colour ay. really bright. suits my rolla though. Just found another color. The new holden commodores it's like a middle metallic blue really nice! *nods* keep posting. woops. used boyfriends account by accident. sorry.
  3. Hey hey, so the newest news is so far that I have only purchased and installed myself a whiteline front swaybar. It has made a huge difference and the handling has literally put me on a different planet, I am absolutely loving it. I have begun making myself an oil catch can from aluminium so far so good and I am quite happy with the turnout so far. Pics soon.
  4. Hey, thanks heaps Mick that is truly appreciated man. That is awesome help and I can't wait to do it now and just move on. Thanks heaps again and again and again ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
  5. Pics would be awesome. Thanks heaps Mick, you have just made my day. Now I can get back on track. YAY YAY YAY. :) :) :bash: :( :bash:
  6. I am at Tahmoor. Near Picton. It sucks so much though that I spent so much money on this and now I can't really do anything. Thats the bad news but the good news is as follows. I just got my cam covers powder coated and they look HOT ! ! ! I ground back the paint on the writnig and polished it so the writing would stand out. Heres some pics, and then next on the list is custom inlet manifold take 2.
  7. Thanks for the info guys. Its bloody useful but at the same time quite depressing. Looks like I got a fair bit of work ahead of me and plenty more stuffing round as always. :bash: Plans are that once I finish the front end I will work on my inlet plenum and custom extractors. Once all that is done I will be slowly working back from there. Rebuild gearbox, custom tailshaft, diff, and then last but not least (and the most fun ofcourse) WIRING. So I will keep you guys all up to date and again I thank you all for the very helpful info. Shouldn't be too long now my friends, I aint holding back. :( :) :) :bash: :bash:
  8. Yeah, I just figured that out :hmm: , was thinking of getting camber adjustable tops, hopefully that will fix the problem. :jamie:
  9. Hello everyone, hope you all doing well after Christmas, New Years and the recent Australia Day. What a long weekend, I love it. Anyway, I got a chance to do some more work on my car finally and I am just doing a lot of shopping for it too. Gotta pamper the car too hey! :hmm: Any way, the RA65 struts that I purchased aren't an exact fit. All I had to do was modify the steering lock on the lower control arm so guess what, I DID. Turned out rather well, just gotta get it on the ground to see if it operates well. Heres some pics. The standard one. The standard one is on the left and the custom one is on the right. The custom one.
  10. Hopefully it will be ok, but thanks for the heads up, will check on that now. It aint making me stop the conversion though coause like I said I will be able to make a better inlet plenum now. I have a fair bit in store for the diff, but that won't be known to anyone until complete.
  11. Hey dude. That is just plain dedication to the old rollas. That is all I have ever owned too. Me first one was a 1981 KE55, then a 1981 KE70 Wagon, and now my current KE55. Coundn't ask for a better car, the old rollas RULE.
  12. Hey guys, got some bad news. I just discovered that the 86kw 4age that I bought has blown piston rings. THAT SUCKS. :lolcry: anyway I was planning on rebuilding the engine from scratch until I got a quote for it. So I have just recently purchased a 100kw 4age from sss. Guess what that means the inlet plenum that I made won't fit. I thought it would but the port holes don't line up. I have already scrapped it considering it was aluminium along with some other aluminium parts. So, again I travel the path of making a custom inlet plenum, but like everything the second time round it always turns out better. I have done some research on the intake of a car and have found out that the longer the runners the more torque, the shorter the runners the more revs. So effectively I am aiming for dead on half way in between. This weekend I will be customising my lower control arms. All I gotta do is make the steering lock plate a bit bigger to suit the celica struts. This is not a hard job. I will be getting some brand new pads and rotors for the celica brakes, and then I will get some news pads and rotors for the pintara diff, which mind you will be getting shortened shortly. :drgrim: Anyway, I would like to thank all you guys for all your words of advice and everything. Thanks. Will keep you updated as more happens.
  13. Thanks dude. I will be getting some perspex to make it completely legal but so you can still see them.
  14. I hope it will be done by then. All I gotta do is just knuckle down and get it done. But guess what I won't be able to make it to that cruz which really sux. It is my grandpa's bday on that day. So that means that I will definitely have it done by the next cruz after that. It's awesome to see such good organisation, good on ya mick. :y:
  15. This is awesome dude, it is great to see the work involved in doing such a conversion. Haven't had a chance to get da mag. Can't wait till I have the privelege of a car that I own previewed in a mag. That'll be the day. Congrats again dude. Really happy for you. Just quickly too, just wanted to say thanks heaps for the cruz. I had a ball. :lolcry: :fuzz: :bash: :bash: :bash:
  16. Well all I gotta say is if there is anything you guys need just PM me and we can sort out something. I will need to know a bit of info like the positioning of the certain thing you need. Say you needed an overflow bottle I would need to know the exact location in the engine bay that you would need it and I can fabricate a bracket so it is a simple bolt on procedure. Anyway thanks for all the comments guys, it really appreciated.. As for what I had in me rolla on the cruz it was the stocka. I wanna make sure that I have everything done properly and it all works perfect. I am bit of a perfectionist. Again, thanks for all the comments. During the holidays, will be doing some more work on the conversion. :lolcry:
  17. Thamks dude. All I can say is practice makes perfect and I am still getting better. I would be happy to help you man. Question is how. I am also making a muffler for my car. Here is a previous picture of a stainless steel muffler that I hand fabricated for a mates car.
  18. :lolcry: :fuzz: :bash:
  19. ALRIGHT. Well thanks to Sbox I ahve now been motivated to share a few more things with my conversion. First of all I purchased a set of RA65 Celica struts for $100. They look fully overhauled with new shocks, dust covers for the shocks and KING Springs. It bolted straight onto the corolla lower control arm although that was using the celica arm that went from the bottom of the strut to the sterring arm. It all fit in well but then I discovered that the hole centres of the strut tops were different. After hours of trial and error I discovered that the celica spring was a larger diameter and the corolla spring was a smaller diameter. I played around for a bit and the bottom spring seat was the p[erfect diameter for the corolla spring, I then used the corolla top spring seat and strut top and it all bolts in beautifully. Reason behind this conversion was obviously larger brakes. (these dimensions are when they are bought brand new) The corolla ones are SOLID, 218mm diameter and 12.7mm thickness. The RA65 ones are VENTED, 258mm diameter and 20mm thickness. So quite a satisfactory difference. :lolcry: Here's a pic. Hope you like. Now for the next part of news. I have been working on making a custom inlet plenum and so far so good. I am using the standard runners that go into the head. I simply chopped the standard plenum off before the bend and began fabricating the brand new plenum. I welded the large pipe onto the runners after endless hours of getting the holes cut correctly to suit the runners. I then tapered the pipe towards the back in attempt to even the amount and pressure of air that is going into all cylinders. I am using a six cylinder Ford Explorer throttle body which measures 62mm, which should be more than ample enough for the mighty 4AGE. I made the throttle body come off on an angle to the pipe to clear the alternator and to allow for easy setup of intake pipes to the air filter. Anyway, more pics for you all. Again I hope you like. Plenty more to do so I will keep you posted.
  20. That was truly the BEST experience ever. Well done, bloody well done, to mick and all the organisers. Thank you so much for a great day.
  21. Hey dude, where abouts do you live. I will probably be doing the same. I live in Tahmoor.
  22. Awesome. Thanks heaps dude. I WILL BE THERE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Can't wait for this. I am soooooo excited.
  23. Hey guys. I need like an address or a street name so I can find the place that we intend on meeting at. It will make it easy for me to find on my highly evolved GPS navigation system called an olskool street directory with pages.
  24. This is awesome guys. It is excellent to see so many people interested. Its good to show off theses oldskool rollas. Not many people really appreciate them the way that we do. Can't wait.
