I really am hoping so. Gonna take a couple days off work so I can get as much work as I can done to it.
-
Yeh I am pretty sure it is one of them. I have to check the dellow book to see which bellhousing I got. Pics are on the first few pages of this thread. I know for certain it was to suit a celica w series box though.
-
Nah I am using a celica gearbox. It is a w series box. Also I have made this crossmember to be strong yet light. :)

Finally have begun the conversion into my car. I have been doing it lately in a dummy car but due to lucky circumstances I have another car to drive around in for 6 weeks so my car is now off the road. Here is a few pics of what I have done over the weekend. I ripped out the stocka, and placed in the 4age. Looks really nice in there. I also have completed my custom gearbox crossmember. It took a genuine full day of work and a lot of stuffin round but it is now done and I am overly happy with the finished result. What I begun with was cutting 5mm mild steel and drilling the holes to suit the holes in the gearbox mount on the gearbox and the chassis. I then welded on the small RHS Once I done that I bolted the brackets on to their corresponding parts and lettered all the ends. The hardest part was joining the gaps inbetween the brackets. There were all types of angles that I had to cut and it was alot of trial and error. But in the end this is the final product. Tomorrow I will sandblast and powdercoat the crossmember and then I can finally begin on the DIFF. Yippee. :D :( :(

This looks awesome. Did you just mount the engine further forward to clear all the water inlets and stuff. The only thing that that might do is change the balance of your car, now considering that there is more weight over the front of the crossmember. The only way though is to take it for a drive and find out when your finished. Otherwise great conversion, and I really like the colour too. Keep the pics coming ;) ;)

Jeez man that really sucks I feel for you. Anyway, add me on the list too Mick, my girlfriend and I will definitely be there and this time hopefully with some more power up my sleeve. ;)
-
Yeh I can but when is a different matter. Also if you wanted me to do it I would have to have your car to continuosly check clearances etc. I would be happy to do it for you. Are you in a rush.

Finally finished my custom extractors. Boy oh boy it takes time. Anyway here are a couple of pics for all to see. I ended up hand making my own collector and it seems to have worked out well so far. Here is the pipes all joined into one. Here is the collector itself. Here are the extractors complete with a flange welded on. Sandblasted and ready for paint. The finished product.

Thanks heaps. I would be more than happy to help. There is plenty more pics to be going up here soon too.

Thankyou soo much Mick it was a great cruise and I really can't wait for the next one. Hopefully (most definitely) will have the conversion done by then. :) :) :) :)  -

Hey, I have searched everywhere for adjustable (camber and caster) tops to suit a KE55. Haven't found them anywhere. Nolathane, Noltec, Wholesale Suspension, Pedders, King Springs etc. All of them have said that they don't make them anymore. Can anyone help with this problem. Pleeeeaaaase.

Hows it goin Mick? Me and my girlfriend will definitely be there, we will meet you at the Autobarn Villawood. :S :) Only problem, conversion won't be done yet. :) -
OOPS! posted on boyfriends account again. sorry. Yeah thanks, that'll be handy!

It may be a different join. My lines have the plastic sleeve over it too, I don't think that that is abnormal. I am not sure what problem you are having then, unless you fixed it already.
-
First of all I got the braided lines the exact same as the stock ones that came off the Celica, not corolla. The clips and everything else are all stock items. I do recall though that I had to remove the little circlips that are attached to the braided lines at each brass join to slip through the bracket on the strut, then put the circlip back on and then I could push on the stock clip. Hope that helped. Did you buy some too.

This is cool to see. Very interesting EFI set up. Looks like its meant to be. The colour, the car, the whitewalls, the new engine, the ideas. Love it all. Excellent work. Keep up the work, along with the pictures. :) :hmm: ;)

Thanks heaps. I must agree with the custom fabs. It just feels a whole lot better when I can look back at this conversion later on when I am finished and say I made that and that and that etc. As for pre made collectors, I have to make this one offset so that it fits down in the gap to the underbody. I will have a look though and see what they got.

Hey, its been a while since I have posted, but thats because I have been waitng on two flange. One for the exhaust manifold and one for the intake manifold. Still haven't got the intake manifold flange but I did get the exhaust one. So I began making my own custom extractors. Here is some pics. Hope you all like. I started out with the flange itself and then started tacking the pipes on. Cutting the right angles and lengths was great fun!?!?!?!?!?!?! Now they aren't finished yet. I am up to the really hard bit. I am making the 4 into 2 into 1 style so it will be making the collector/reducer that will be challenging. So I will definitely be keeping you guys updated.

It is always fun working on upgrading the brakes. It will be interesting to see what you figure out. I just put the celica RA65 struts into my car and they have worked awesome so far. Not sure on what conversions can be done with the early KE's.

I spotted an orange rolla on Cowpasture Road. Wasn't sure what was done to it but the number plates were HSV and then I forget the numbers, but they reminded me of a V8 cubic inch capacity.
-
I did what you said, and bled it for years (atleast it felt like). All good now, just gotta bed them in. The whole front suspension feels a heap better coz of the new shocks that are celica shocks, which I believe are a bit stiffer than corolla ones. Thanks again dude.

Hey guys a little update on the front struts. I sandblasted and painted the actual hubs and the dust covers for the discs. Hubs and dust covers sanblasted and painted. Struts completely overhauled, this includes, RA65 struts, Pedders superlow springs, new shocks and dustcovers for shocks, fully reconditioned calipers(new seals and slidersetc), brand new rotors, brand new pads, brand new braided brake lines and brand new wheel bearings. I have also finally installed the struts into my car and have discovered that my dragway rims hit the brake caliper which really sucks, so I am getting new rims all round. For the time being I am using 14inch rims which will have to do. Anyway, I ran into a few problems while I was installing them. I put them completely in and began bleeding the brakes and discovered that no matter how much I continued to bleed the brakes the pedal stayed spongy. Turns out I will be needing a larger master cylinder. Would anyone have any suggestions for an easy upgrade? My next problem with replacing the master cylinder is that when I finish this conversion I will have disc brakes all round. I was planning on purchasing a bigger master cylinder to suit the disc brakes all round. The only problem with that is that I am not sure how the drums on the rear will react then. So if anyone knows of a cheap swap, which suits bigger discs on front, drums on rear, please let me know. All problems aside here is a couple pics of the struts in my car.

Yeh, I thought I would start with the brakes and then work back from there. Will be keeping you all updated too. Hopefully will begin my inlet plenum soon.
