  1. Looking at those pics I wonder why I ever sold that thing. :locked: Nick is pretty much on the ball with the info he gave you, you can get the standard turbos to clear the steering box by having the motor sit on a angle towards the passenger side, you then get issues with it being close to the clutch master, as you can see I opted for a single turbo (GT2871R) because at the end of the day it was legal to do, solved a lot of clearance issues and the performance was like chalk and cheese, although there have been a few changes made to laws since so some engineer clarification would be needed. Regarding the boss kit that was my bad, cheap Autotechnica item so I guess you get what you pay for. I wont hijack your thread anymore but if you want anymore info drop me a line on msn [email protected] Adam
  2. Sorry mate but I owned the car at one stage and installed that drivers seat, that's what makes it my business. You could have at least corrected your comments with your later findings though. As for the rest of the problems with the car, news to me, all that was done after I sold it and I can understand your frustrations. No there wasn't a report to cover the seat conversion, that was going to be done at a later stage all at once with the engine conversion, diff conversion, brake upgrade etc. I had consultation with the engineer regarding the seat conversion and had experience from previous cars I had engineered. Good luck with your future endeavors on the vehicle and I hope it doesn't give you any more issues.
  3. You do realise that those plates that are 'put over' the original rails are WELDED to the stock rail underneath and the steel used was 6mm thick (3 times thicker than the stock rail). That type of installation has passed engineering previously, and do you not think the seat would have rocked about like crazy if it was just put over the stock rail as you say. If it was such a death trap how come the previous owner didn't have an issue with the seat when he was involved in the accident that damaged the rear guard? Post up the full story next time or at least do your investigations before you go shooting your mouth.
  4. W50 are behind celicas as early as ra23, they come on the 18r motors, 2T powered ta22 and ta23 celicas used a 20 spline t50
  5. I'm sure that the uni joints between a celica and a corolla are interchangable, so therefore get ya self the rear section of a celica with a T series and interchange the rear yoke from the celica to the rolla driveshaft.
  6. http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2705 that should help ya out obtain a wiring diagram of your car and a 4age and that should give you the correct colours, if not you can always figure them out with a multimeter
  7. That kit was developed on my ra23 celica, now what they have not told you, is that your required to use a xt130 corona strut due to the fact that the stub axel in celica, and corolla just aint big enough to suit the bearings on the disc they install. I already had these struts in my car when they developed their kit, I told em what strut was in it, perhaps they have forgotten or the person you got in contact with just doesn't know. In a XA23 onwards celica it isnt a problem because the legnth of the XT130 strut is correct, in a TA22 and corolla there presents a problem, and in a corolla you also need to swap the LCA. This is what the setup looks like. Added a pic of the car to, God i miss that thing
  8. I went out and bought a big stereo for the rolla, so when I get these noises, I just drown them out with music and when the part breaks then I will find out what the problem was. Seriously dude its very hard to diagnose a problem like that in person let alone over the internet.
  9. T3 flange on a stock ca manifold i think not. Something aint right
  10. He burnt his clutch on the burnout stage
  11. His clutch wasnt the only thing to break that day LOL
  12. I'm sure thats what i said ealier, but i don't think the ke30 spring sits in the ta22 lower seat properly hence you need to weld the ke30 spring seat on the ta22 strut, but i could be wrong.
  13. Its a shame its hit in the front, means you can't use the radiator and thermos ect
  14. I think you will find that the steering knuckle on the ke wont bolt into the ta22 strut, so that shall have to be changed with the whole lower control arm, i also think that the upper spring seat does not bolt into the ke strut top without some grinding and drilling, so you can either adjust the car to make it fit, or reweld the ke lower spring seat onto the ta22 strut and run a ke spring and upper spring seat.
  15. Nice strong x member, looks piss easy to make guess if i take the ca18det path i might guess i have a x member design lol
  16. LOL, i ment do they exist to buy as a after market part from somewhere, save me making my own
  17. Do these mounts exist at all, does anyone have a photo of how they either made or modified their engine mounts for a 4a in to ke cross member.
  18. id be more inclined to say that a welded diff would be better for drifting than an lsd, due to the nature of the sport and the fact that you will just wear out the lsd, in saying that though be prepared to change axles often
  19. If your looking for power, i wouldn't waste money on a 4age engine conversion, as light as a corolla is 86kw aint ever going to make it that fast, and well can't seem to come across any small ports 4ag's and as for 20v your left with having a car that wont pass epa/engineering as 2 options are given to you due to the fact that the dizzy is on the back of the motor, aftermarket ecu with coil packs or modify the firewall, either of which aint gonna work in your case for it to be legal. Or you can mount the motor further foward and sacrifice handling. But that said a 4ag big port 86 is the cheapest of decent performance engine conversions, still going to be $$$ if you don't do the work yourself.
