Bored 3T and t50 will keep it period. Probably the easiest swap as well
-
check out regular 4K from 82,83,84. Most here have lugs under 1& 4 and no, theyre not 4k-u or j.
-
straight swap but need the shifter that goes with the housing
-
Do those diffcodes apply for borg warner as well?
-
Posting your location would help if you want someone to do the swap ; )
-
No idea of your budget but consider a 7ke
Its not 75kw but a 7ke would be a big improvement . Lots more torqe than the 4k
Would make a sweet cruiser and You could keep your autobox wich would save lots of work and $

Yea,thats mine. Its a k40 fork.
Look for a thread called "kp slowly growing up" by Morten on kp61.net
He did a similar mod on a 4ag t50 bell

ta22 t50 bellhousing will need some machining to suit the larger ae7 t50 input bearing
From what Ive seen all 22 spline T50s have larger diameter input bearings than the older 20 spline boxes. Change was around 82`

1800cc 7Ks are easy to find in NZ

shifterhole in ke7 and ae7 should be same pos. but maybe yours has been moved during 2tg mod?
Is your current gearbox a 20 spline ta22 box and the ae71 t50 a 22spline box ?
Easiest way is get a Tseries 22spline t40 or 50 bellhousing and use it on the ae7box. Also use tailshaft from ae7 + possably diff if theyre different
AE7 bellhousing will be worth some $
If you want to swap shifterpos. of the gearboxes that can be done. Ill post a link to a howto I made a while back

In addition to already mentioned, TE got different brakes ,hubs, struts, front springs, diff, tailshaft , engine crossmember, exhaust, hydro clutch , probably more

hey lads while on the question of shocks ke20 to 30, are the 20 and 30 leaf springs of equal distance apart??? any help or info would be tops.
cheers
no, ke3 springs are wider apart

Without the spacer, inputshaft and bearing will be able to move in bellh. and oilseal in bellhousing
will leak oil and contaminate the clutch. Gearbox wont last long. Get a spacer (68x62x10mm from memory) made and
renew the oilseal. Also make sure there`s a guide bearing in the end of the crankshaft
Your clutch can probably be saved by washing with a strong degreaser like brakecleaner.

7k starters are geared , even smaller than 5k ones, and from what Ive read the only ones that will fit a 7K

Tell camgrinders your plans, what you got and what you want. They got heaps of experience. ;)

if it starts when cranking then stops when not, it could be a faulty ballast resistor.

If the struts have decent inserts they can be used in the ke10 struts for slight lowering
Theres a howto by Felix somewhere
Steeringwheel looks the same as a ke35 item
U series diff head fits in the B series ke10 diffhousing
-
No, same size

te3 vs ke3 crossmember http://imageshack.us/f/851/e3crossmember.jpg/

ta 62 diffs are wider than the ke35
Look for a ta12/14 or Celica ta22 diff
Will need to be stripped of old Mounts and welded on some New ones for leaf springs
Engine crossmember and engine mounts wont fit.
Look for ta12/14 or Celica ta22 Mounts
as for crossmember Ill send you some differeces of measurements if you got a email address
Your original ke35 gearbox crossmember can be used, just bolted in further back. Holes are already there
Front part of ta6 tailshaft will need to be cut off and welded onto ke35 tailshaft + balanced
or to save you the trouble , just send me the 3T ;)
ps, struts/ brakes don't fit either and youve probably seen clutch is Hydro on the ta62

If ordering, specify that you want 1985 MR2 NOT supercharged , rear inserts then you should get the thin ones

yea dwell angle is the way to go. 4k : 52+- 6 deg but if using feelergauge,
toyota K manual suggests to adjust to 0.45mm rubbing block gap.
That way pittings and lumps on points doesnt affect the measurement.
Renew if bad tho
