  1. How much does a K50 weigh? The weight limit that Australia Post has for international parcels is 20kg and Aus Post is the method that is easiest for most people. I looked at shipping a 3TGTE head to Sweden and it was just possible by Aus Post but it had to be fully stripped of all excess items ie valves, springs etc to allow for enough weight to construct a crate. I'd imagine that a similar protective crate would be needed for a gearbox. Other option is to see if the internals of the gearbox could be shipped but you'll need to see if the gearbox cases between a k40 and k50 are the same. I expect that they are though. Prices you are looking at depend on shipping method There are companies here is Aus that promote themselves as being able to ship anything to anywhere which could be an option for you to look at. Example company is http://www.packsend.com.au but I have not used them so can't give a first hand view on what they are like. There are other freight companies such as Fedex, DHL etc but these tend to cost more but could be worth looking into as they may have higher weight allowance Hope this is helpful
  2. You do realise that the factory 2tg efi TPS is bascially a Throttle Body Switch (aka on/off) and not a Throttle Body Sensor which outputs a varying signal with opening/closing of the throttle body? The 2TGEU TPS has 3 stages. Idle, normal, >60% throttle. And as you press on the accelerator, little arms in the TPS close different circuits, idle if bottom 2 touch, normal if nothing touches, >60% if top 2 touch. It has a little track which a runner sits in to connect the different arms. Take the cover off one and have a look how it works, very basic. A resistance sensor based one ie 4AGE, 3SGE, etc is different and measures the position of the throttle body plate in all possible movements from fully closed to fully opened but the ECU will need to be able to recognise this. The factory 2tgeu ecu is not designed to work with these type of TPS.
  3. Happened to see a rather rusty rolla on the back of the woolshed rally truck at Gingers Creek Roadhouse over the weekend. Parts beast or spare shell?
  4. Love the 4 plug 3tgte turbo tappet cover. I just bought a spare 2tg cam cover for exactly the same reason. Great minds think alike. Build is looking good.
  5. So this shell can registered? Do you need to go through with the pre 1988 compliance requirements?
