Spoke to an engineer today, he informed me that for wheel width you can only go 1inch more than the biggest available wheels from factory. anyone got any stories, tips, tricks or ANYTHING! i don't want to be running 16x5's...HAHAHAHA But it has to be legal... cheers fellas

Yeah shouldn't be too hard, engineering is the least of my worries, i still don't have a diff! haha Well the ke20 is on hold at the moment, My daily Daihatsu Charade needs a Clutch, Syncro & Starter... Also putting in a central locking kit to hook up 2 my alarm... i can't wait to be back spinning those front tyres!

haha yeah justification is the hard part about modifying a car... we can always justify costs to ourselves, but not so easy to put into words...haha yeah 3.8-3.9 sounds good to me... must be good on a highway with a 4.33...."need an extra gear anyone?"

Yeah the 3.08 will be a little too highway, but after all the rest is done i'll probably go for a new centre... was thinkin 4.11? anyone got any ideas for a 4agte diff ratio? cheers

I like ur style JC, John Virmitidis? from Consulmotive said he will register a SR20det in it... apparently you can go by the weight of the heaviest variant of the model... But it needs either sump work, or steering work...much more money... HAHA Bodgy Bros....do u have theyr number? jkz... thats it, i want all nice and clean and LEGAL so when i get pulled over in a defect stop i can drive away laughing... Through all of my plans i have been in constant contact with a certain engineer... He seems to think it's not hard to engineer, do it once, do it right... He's always giving me advice on how to do work, what i can and can't engineer, tricks and loopholes... SR20 would be different story, say goodbye to Mr Sump...hahaha

I fukn love this thread! where do i start? 1. Hate cops that pull over innocent P-platers and hold them on the side of the road....my car has been searched 5 times in the last 6 months...all times have been with less than 3 people in the car and away from riots...(one was on the way to work at 6am) Honestly, do they think we're all street racers? If someone is speeding or drivin like a fukwit, OK...but if we're just cruisin or DRIVING HOME FROM WORK!...it's rediculous... Then they try and stir u up to get a reaction, so they can shove u on channel 9 news to say ur abusing police... 2. Cops who pull ova "wogs/lebs" just because they think every1 with a tan is a terrorist...All they see is an Italian/Greek/Lebanese/"Euro" flag hanging up & they think "Jihad"!! 3. Defect stations/checkpoints, fair enuf my fault for breaking the "law"...but still grinds my synchros... But it was mad when the coppa said he couldnt do me for my charade's 5% tints, because the car was made before the laws came in...HAHAHAHA 4. SOME asian drivers....I live in Marrickville, Sydney....we have half of Vietnam in here, and they can't drive...MOSTLY! Except "Turbo Tim" best fukn driver around, Gti-R Pulsar.... 5. Girls from the eastern suburbs of sydney...."Oh my gaaaadd"...fukn talk normally u skanky bitches, we know u got money..we can tell by the M3 u got out front! 6. Daddy's Boys (and girls too i guess)...who drive Daddy's Lexus/BMW/Merc/S2000 on the weekends trying to pick up girls.... GET A REAL CAR! Yeah i was very sceptical about the GT3076r when i heard about it... But like people say, don't say u'll do it, DO IT! and Mick's Motorsport have done it... he reckons he had over 400Hp with that turbo...spools up nice... Yeah i might have to head out and grab some of those crystal lights, they look sick... Hey KE04AG, what suspension you running up front on ur rolla? Twin centre mounted coil-overs sounds good... But how do they mount? isn't that a 4-link? sorry I'm a bit do-do on some topics of modification...

Thanks beerhead, Yeah Matt from HiTech Mods said you can square off the inner guard and get away with 9's... but i want them to fit properly, no chance of scrubbing... Panhard rod is a great idea, thanks mate... I'll deffinately roll the guards, if not get the lips cut out... I'd like to tub it in 1-2 inches each side... Is it true that i should buy my rims before getting a diff? If i'm getting Simmons, aren't they custom made to fit ur car? Is there a legal limit to shortening a diff? cheers

Hi all, Just wanted to throw around a few ideas about diff setups... what i'm looking to run is as follows: -VL Turbo 3.45 Diff (cut and matched to fit) -Mini Tubs, not sure how big... -Want to run 8.5" or 9" wide wheels on rear (maximum) has anyone here minitubbed a ke20? has anyone had expersience with a vl turbo diff? what's the widest rims i can run? If i mini tub, do i have to reposition the leafs or rear shocks? Any input appreciated... KEEP ROLLIN!

Hi there guys, just some progress info... I just got back from the garage, me and a mate had the day off so we took out the motor, gearbox, shaft & diff... Oh, by the way...I will be running a remote Brake booster behind the dash, passenger side... First things first, all wiring and hosing disconnected... and the motor & box came out The car sits so much higher at the front now, we'll soon change that... The Engine bay gremlin....(not bored at all... :) ) Diff out... Thats all for now, Next is Diff setup, then motor & gearbox mounting....coming soon.... Thanks for ur support guys, cya... Marky

Hey guys, I won't be running "atmo" at all....it will be forced from day 1... i beleive the VL Turbo diff is a 3.45 LSD... Hilux is ok, but i want something with disks, and as I'm probably going for Commo front brakes, might aswell keep it in the family... Can anyone explain a remote brake booster? I am thinking about running one, but where can i mount it? Has anyone done this in a KE20 before? cheers, Marky

Hi all, just a bumpy update, Holding off on Rust welding & Paint for now... Motor/Box/Diff will be out on Friday...ANYONE LOOKING FOR A CLEAN 3K WITH 4spd GEARBOX CALL ME 0404 736 158... Diff will soon be sent with a vl turbo diff to be matched & shortened... When the diff is sorted and back in, 4a motor & t50 will go in & be measured for a driveshaft... Also, the firewall will be stepped back... no pics at the moment, will post up this weekend for sure... KEEP ROLLIN!
