  1. i had a similar thing happen to mine when i did my convo, idled fine but rev it a bit and she'd die in the ass.... turned out to be the actual dizzy was somehow cracked inside or something and sent two signals to the ecu.. so may i suggest you try another distributor if you have one handy.
  2. yeah it sort of is (was) an apex engineering one.. Gilly's not getting them from malaysia anymore as far as I'm aware.. which is where that photo was taken from.. what you could do if your handy with a welder an really want itb's. is to then take off the inlet, trace up some sort of inlet flange, make it out of steel and wahlah. you have itb's  altho seeing as yours is FF.. is there even enough room?? i never looked in the bay of any corolla post 1984..
  3. on a 4age the main gain is (if the motor is left stock) the induction sound, so i guess an FE would be the same.... the down side is it will run rich... to get the most out of this an aftermarket ecu would be needed and also a nice set of cams (not necesary, but why not)... and like every other 16v an adaptor would be needed for the itb's for an FE when i get my 16v in my new keto i shall be making an adaptor, something like this: Richie.
  4. do you mean calipers or rotors?? but I'm pretty sure in both instances they wont.. unless you mod them of course. But why would you want them to anyway.. 86 brakes are bigger to start with and you can always upgrade them to jdm 86 brakes (vented) and you'll have all the brakes you could ever need!!
  5. if you want one, pm Gilly either on here or on ae86dc.. he sells the bottom adaptor. he's in bris..
  6. they look pretty simple t3 mani some dude in malaysia made this..
  7. damn that sounds noice.. any driving vids?? also what gen is the motor??
  8. indeed!!!!!!!!!!! ill be getting a tig soon, so thats one of my first projects... $450!!!! it used to be about $340... daymm
  9. it certainly does...i shall be doing this soon.. you'll need an 20v itb-16v adapter- t3 make this albeit damn expensive a variety of rubber hoses and deff an aftermarket ecu or safc... this will explain it in more detail >>>>>>http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/board/index.php?showtopic=5125 richie..
  10. ok well a bit has changed since last time. the colour for one. went back to grey as i didnt want to go anywhere near the DOT with the rolla in its current state in fear of them having a "closer" look to change colour over. so another trip to bunnings, 20 bucks an half a carton later it was grey again. also got a silver top flywheel and heavy duty button clutch backin up the bigport. revs and grips like a mofo now. t series drum rear end. meh something to attach wheels to. :P sieras in the rear. daymn loooow. exhaust resting on the diff.. under diff it will be. and lastly my fav.. 15x8 -9 challengers and 15x8 0 sportsmax.... man that was fun trying to get these under the guards. got sick of tryin to be neat and got the BFH out. bog should get any imperfections out.. :jamie: i love the smell of new tyres.. Richie
  11. hey peeps. the meshies are only 14x6 +8. not really a great size/offset but they'll do for some skidders till i find something wider. also i got rid of the 86 struts an got me hands on an s13 set up. tein coilies, cusco tops, ca brakes and 9kg springs, way to hard but better than running on bump stops.. and they seen to fit behind the 14's fine. so now she'll stop on a dime. also got a bit more track. the only downside to this is that with the coilovers wound right up the wheel still sits in line with the guard = exhaust sits 80mm off the ground. looks like base adjustables for me. oh well!!! fitment. shall definatly be needing a flare..i also want wider rims than whats on there :bash: got lock!!
  12. hey yall. done a bit to the old girl albeit very slowly. put in some 86 front struts which ill convert to coilovers soon. p/s arms. tercel front bar ssr formula mesh. look nice but need to be widened. and painted her. as i was sick of the 2 different silvers. almond pressure packs ftw. next up. clutch, jdm disks an calipers an coilovers. put in t18 diff with an proper lsd. then have some fun :) also does anyone know how to undo the big nut on top of the strut that holds the shock in? do i just get a big shifter or is there a proper tool? richie
  13. hey guys. i know squat all about the old rollas pre e7's so i thought maybe some one here whos done it before may be able to help me!! yes ive tried looking but i just can't find anything even in the faq's. I'm thinking about pulling apart my ae71 with 4age and all that other shyte and put it into either a ke20 or 55. what i need help on is: will an ae71 x-member fit? if not i have 4ag-to-ke70 steel mounts, is there a difference between 20/55/70 k sreies x/members next is will an ae71 pedal box fit obviously so i can use the T50 or is there a different hydro pedal box that will fit easier?? I'm sure i will think of more questions in the near future so ill add them here but for now any help is much appreciated!! cheers. Richie now i just gotta find a cheap 20/55
  14. hey man. awesome conversion i too am thinking about doing this also but into something a little earlier. just wondering what g/box that is on page 1. W50 or something?? what pedal box will you be running?
  15. shit yeah. those wheels/offsets make it looks tough. so no drama's with the firewall then? richie.
  16. heya. I'm from the sunny coast too. buderim. what you got planned for your automobile?? richie..
  17. hey man. hows it all coming along?
  18. Reckon it'll hold up ok?? haha. spider gears?? what spider gears??? probly added 2 kilos to overall weight of car. Its starting to give me the shits. had it for about 3 weeks. just bumpy and hard to reverse park in. but every time i drive in the rain i have a smile from ear to ear. like this one>> :y: but after christmas new clutch then proper t series. damn cheap tyres, 80kph on highway, 3rd gear, 4000 or so rpm, dampish road tvis kicked in, locker decided to kick the wheels out = me brown undies. richie.
  19. hey all. ive got an 4age engine mount bracket thingy to fit into a ke70 crossmember and was just wondering if a ke55 crossmeber is the same. i mean I'm pretty sure they are as they both had k series motors (obviously) and i tried looking, but i just wanted to be 158.39% sure. or alternatively would an ae71 crossmember fit??? As that will more than likely be my next project.... so is it a :lolcry: or is it a :fuzz: cheers. Richie..
  20. hey all. finnaly after 2 long months, the silver bitch is alive an going, but the clutch is shithouse. it feels like a big sponge when i drop it, but anywho. also got some new skid rims. only 14x6 but i reckon the look pretty cool.. its a bigport but i got a small port valleycover. looks a bit better me thinks. and i put the carpet back in cause the floor was getting too hot and its now nice an cushy under the feet. over.
  21. yeah man i shall be pretty keen. would like to also see your rolla. read the thread. sounds sweet!!
  22. yeah it looks nothing like that but that looks pretty cool how it swigns out an shit . cheers guys
  23. i wouldnt have a clue if it has centrifugal advance or any thing, as far as i know its just came with the motor its got 2 round gears inside it under the rotor i can move it a little say 1-2 mm but yeah its a little hard to check cause the cars is at the mechanics shop. but if it did have centrifugal advance, what would i do about that?? Richie
  24. hey people. I'm still having probs with my 4age in my ae71, but this time it seems to be the ignition/distributor. when i go to start it, it starts at around 20deg advanced and coughs and farts and just generally shit but then when i start it again its all ok, until i try to rev it and thats when the ignition retards its self instead of advancing....apparently. we tried to swap the red and white wire over of the three but it just wont start. so i was just wondering if anyone else had encounterd this strange problem and what the heck i should do!! :lolcry: its just an adm ae82 bigport blue top with tvis still attached ( i think) with all rwd stuff put on with a jdm ae86 loom running a adm ecu (i also have a jdm ecu but it has the same probs). thanks in advance Richie..
  25. heya. also got a pic of these tein positive camber reducing units aswell as some power steering arms. the bloke also gave us some ra40 tie rods and tubes he was running sigma arms but I'm only running xt130 lca's, does anyone know if they'll be too long for the rack ends or should i just wind em' right in?? i want to use these as they are alot newer than mine!! later dayz. richie
