  4. just use vs commodore air and water temp sensors and it will work fine
  5. i run 195x50x15 goodyear eagle F1's on my 20 and they stick very well, also a tight arse alternative to buying a new front swaybar for a ke20 is by putting a TA22 celica bar on, its a straight fit and is approx 3mm thicker.

  7. it has big ports the same as em30. i can't believe you can still get the em30, i tried everyone and i work for repco and they said it is now a deleted line, I'm glad though cause the toyota gasket is awesome and i never would have found out about it if i could still get the em30. i just found the part no. its: TO1717213050, i hope this helps
  8. ok, part no. em30 is no longer available and i had 1 on there and it still burnt out, BUT i'll let you in on a little secret, and that is the genuine toyota head gasket and ex/inlet manifold gasket are the shit, the head gasket is graphite and weighs about twice as much as a monotorque piece of shit and the ex/inlet gasket is a work of art, it's a 1 piece pressed stainless with another piece of stainless around the exhaust ports and pressed carbon steel around the inlet ports, the best thing about it is you can keep on re using it and it will never burn out and it cost me $36
  9. simon the turbo is a s15 bb t28 with steel wheel not ceramic and it's in very good condition, I'm interested in a swap though, wait till i get a new gas converter and get my mixtures correct, not at 15 on boost!!!! and 20 at idle which is stupid lean. also the hotbox/j-pipe gasket is copper and seals sweet as.

Nah no pics of exhaust mani out of the car but it is a std ke70 manifold with the "j" coming from the hot box section, yeah its a t28 and i want a t25 because the lag is getting annoying, the oil feed is on top i just spun the core around. its been ALOT of work but i was worth it, i've had it upto 16psi at 7500 rpm and it flew. i was originally going to leave it EFI but fuel prices suck and i love gas because its so easy and runs very well with boost all you need to do is run the balance line from the converter to the mixer and as soon as boost hits it opens up the converter and pumps more gas in.
  11. The time has finally come, my lil rolla now has a snail hangin off the side and is running straight gas (because I'm a tight arse) and goes pretty damn well but not without its fair share of problems. i have pics if someone is willing to host them cheers.
  12. well spotted TAZ, that was originally an sr20det mani and the ports matched pretty much perfectly, i know this because it used to be a mates, a top mount would be much better because the starter gets very close to the ex housing from memory

  14. Just look at the big picture, and think how good it will look once done not to mention the personal satisfaction. The best way to get it done as fast as you can is to spend every spare minute on it and ALOT of late nights until its done, well thats what i did. GOOD LUCK

I only went high comp for when its NA, i have a 3k bigport head to go on when i turbo it, the conversion wil take a bit of time but i'm keen. this will be the third NA car i have turboed, the first was a mazda 1300 running a 1400 with ea falcon throttle body injection and a skyline t3 turbo. Second was my 85 mazda 323 pano with a dedicated LPG 12a turbo. So hopefully i have enough experience to get this one right aswell although being non crossflow makes it a bitch. As for the watanabes, i found them at a local wrecker and got them for $100 for the set only because they didn't know what they had and i had to paint them.

  17. Hey people, i have already done the conversion some time ago but was just wondering how much power they can take before they go bang. I plan on bolting a s14 T28 to the side of my freshly worked 5k and possibly running it in the local hillclimb, will the diff and gearbox handle it without too many hard launches or burnouts? any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
  18. just an update, i have now given the old 5k in my shed a full rebuild which includes, 20thou bore with higher comp acl (less dish) pistons, 10 thou shaved 5k head with double valve springs and new stem seals, decked block, wade 242a cam, double row timing chain, new rings and bearings. i've only done about 40km and already notice a massive power and torque increase compared to the old original tired 3k it had, and i havent even reved it past 3000rpm. next will be a turbo upgrade within about 6 months. also i have given it a much needed brake upgrade which consists of tm magna rotors and calipers and now it stops HEAPS better. cheers Sash

  22. i reckon the cannon looks tuff, if cannons weren't on cheesy lancers and hondas they would be perceived very differently by old schoolers, but as i live in the bush there are f@$k all cheesy cars around so i don't care. anyway it will be regoed in the next couple of weeks then the 5k goes in after i put a new set of rings in and a wade 242 cam, can anyone tell me how much better a slightly cammed 5k will go compared to a stock 3k?
