  1. I want a ride too! You'll need to drive it out to Palmerston to run it in. :D
  2. That sounds FAR more reasonable. I thought you must have been kidding. :D
  3. Uh, I was kind of kidding. Sorry. I need them for the TA22, and will need to make them last as long as possible. They cost $300 a tyre to replace. :D My 7M-GTE injectors were cleaned and flow tested before I bought them. Not sure if there's anyone up here that does them. I can check the invoice on my injectors to find who I got them from and maybe you can send yours to the same place.
  4. Really? I would have thought a 14 would have been fairly easy with the MR2. I have four rather new semi-slicks. Maybe you should use two on the back of the MR2 and Stephen should use two on the front of the Levin. :D And I should use my four remaining 17-inch semi slicks on the GT-Four. Shitty ones on the back (hopefully they'll slip a bit) and the better two on the front.
  5. Probably won't affect you guys much, but if you're ever telling anyone about RollaClub, let them know about the new link directly to the NT section: nt.rollaclub.com
  6. You guys may or may not be interested, but when I found the magazine article I attached above, I also found a nice guide from Zoom magazine to modifying the 3S-GTE. It's all on http://www.gtfours.co.uk/. Just go to the 'Stuff' link from the menu on the left, then 'GT4 magazine articles'. The Zoom article is the one at the very bottom. Not sure how accurate the info is, but it makes it sound like the ST205 is VERY easy to get extra power from. It almost makes me want to spend some money on the car and aim for 220-250kW at the wheels. It'd be cool, but I like the idea of keeping the car very close to stock. I was quite surprised that they only estimate 115kW at the wheels on a standard ST205, but by their modifying guide I should be at around 140-150kW at the wheels, remembering that I'm running 1.1bar of boost. This article is the only time I've seen that 1.25-1.3bar is where the fuel cut is meant to come on. Normally I've only seen a figure of 1.1bar, but maybe that only applies to the regular ST205, not the Group A. :D
  7. Can't think of anything local off the top of my head. I'll ask Brenton Taylor tomorrow to see if he knows of anywhere. He may not, as I know he's got a Tilton fully adjustable pedal box. Too much money dammit. :D You were going so well till you estimated your own times. Toyota Australia claimed the GT-Four Group A would do 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds, and a 13.8 quarter mile (according to Motor magazine - http://www.gtfours.co.uk/stuff/articles/6/page3.jpg). The best figure I've heard for a stock ST205 from a magazine is 14.2. So with the higher boost and other slight improvements my car has, I think a 13.5 is a reasonable goal. I assume you are joking about your own times. To get even a 9-sec time out of an AE71 with 4A-GTE, you'd have to do some EXTREME suspension work, run at least a GT30 turbo, and bore and stroke the shit out of the engine. Not going to happen. A realistic goal is a 12-sec quarter, and even that will take a lot of work. My guesses/goals for August 15 would be as follows: ST205: 13.5 AW11: 14.0 AE92: 13.0-13.5 I think the Levin should have the ability to do 12's, but obviously Stephen won't have had time to do practice launches, and I'm assuming it will still be on sports tyres, not slicks or semi-slicks. With 200+kW at the front wheels, with good rubber and practice, I see no reason why a 12-second time is out of the question. But launching a light FWD car with such horsepower is going to take some serious practice. That's why I like the idiot-proofness of the GT-Four. :lovin: Even I can launch it fast. And entry into the lapsprints costs about $100 in total when you include day licence, entry fees and everything.

  9. You bowl regularly too? Cool. :P I desperately need to get a good run of strikes again.
  10. I think you'd be surprised at what could beat you up the straight when circuit racing. A good exit from Turn 14 makes a HUGE difference. I can never get it right, and as a result I've been trounced by a few cars. How about drag meet on August 15, then a lapsprint challenge on September 7? If I get my act together I might have semi-slicks on the front, but I doubt it. I've still got to really get my act together and do the clutch. :P
  11. I suggest August 15th as it should ensure cooler weather to optimise our times somewhat. I'll also work on trying to get Anthony to bring the S2000 down. He's got a friend with a turbo Civic that may be able to attend - it should be ready by then. :S EDIT: A lapsprint meet up would be good too. Drag's will be fun, but circuit racing's better. :no2: Especially with Shane getting as quick as he is, and Stephen having an understeer special. :P
  12. Thursday was the only day I could join a league to fit around work and everything else. It's the Cash Doubles, so we pay $25 a week, $15 of which pays for the three games we play, and $10 goes in a kitty for prizes. We're currently about 6th on the ladder (out of 16), and we're hoping to get a bit higher before the league finishes at the end of the year.
  13. My highest ever score is a 216, which included six strikes in a row. :P Unfortunately it was in a non-league game, interstate, with bumpers up (but I didn't touch them). I think I got over 200 once up here, but it was ages ago (as was the 216). I'd LOVE to crack 200 in a league game this season.
  14. Should I mention that I'm in a league bowling every Thursday...? Probably not - I think my highest score all season was in the 170's, and I still haven't got a turkey. My average is 118, and we've been playing for twenty weeks. :P Then again, my average at the start of the season was 90. :S
  15. Damn - I would but this is Alley's last weekend off for the next six weeks. Can we leave it for a fortnight instead? Can't do it next weekend because of the V8's.
  16. LOL - all classic stuff. :( Meh, I'll just go with my super-duper twincharged twinscrew twincam plan. :P EDIT: Just a thought - if I use the 20v head then I would have VVT as well. :D And a 7A bottom end for more grunt. So it would be a 7A-GZZTE 20v VVT. Hmm, needs more letters. :D
  17. LOL!!! That reminds me of The Colbert Report from the other night. He interviewed the Cookie Monster. Check it out: http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport...?videoId=174545. :P
  18. Adam has low self ESTEEM. :P Adam needs to prove how much quicker he is to be happy. Adam knows TA22 is going to give AW11 a hiding - big time. :D 150rwkw plus instant throttle response = winnah!. :)
  19. ORC clutch is getting fixed. :P If you really think about it, the engine in the Levin will be acting like a bigger engine than the 3S-GTE. It's got bigger injectors (680cc vs. 540cc) so it's putting more fuel in than the 3S-GTE, and it's got a bigger turbo, so it's putting more air in than the 3S-GTE (GT30 thingy vs. CT20b). You've only got a smaller swept volume. The 3S-GTE obviously has a greater power potential by having a greater capacity, but the 4A-GTE has been better worked to take advantage of its potential. Regardless, I agree we should have a get together at some point. Preferably on track for a RollaClub drag off. :D My 4A-GZE should be getting a smaller blower soon. And the TA22 is a race car, not a half-arsed race car wannabe like the MR2. Which isn't even close to a race car in reality.
  20. Your e-wang doesn't compare to my e-wang. It's just yours is more visible in that it's located on your forehead. :D :P Not sure what 1/4 mile time Bilal ran. We didn't drag, it was only when we both lapsprinted at Hidden Valley one time. He had a good lead on me entering the straight, and I over took him. I probably had a slight advantage exiting turn 14 (slightly higher exit speed), but it would have only been 10km/h at most. As for the "OMG..." comment, I was saying that those things could have been done better. When I (finally) get my 4A-GZE/4A-GZTE built, you'll know what I mean. For now you'll just have to assume it's me being egotistical as usual. :)
  21. LOL - not as bad a hiding as you might think. :) I was beating Bilal's Excel with ease when he had 120fwkw and I hadn't modified the GT-Four at all. Now I've got noticeably more grunt. Hell, I might even have a chance of winning. We'll have to wait and see. ;) It's a pity the builder went to the trouble of getting the head ported and polished and then only used HKS cams. The HKS cams for the 4A-GE's suck a fair bit, with crap lift and fairly short duration (relative to many others on the market). Not many people bother with them. As for the Ferrea valves, it would be interesting to know what size they used. I know that bigger ones are available from other companies. Don't know what a Precision SC50 turbo is meant to be - I thought it had a GT30. Or is this a GT30-based turbo? As for 680cc injectors - FARK!!! Anyway: Car A: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...rt=#entry461119 & Car B: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...rt=#entry467772 Please note that Car A has less mods than my GT-Four and still 'only' has 165kW at the wheels. Not only do I have an aftermarket 3" pipe to replace where the catalytic converter normally is (right after the turbo creating MASSIVE back pressure), I've also got a full 3" exhaust system, lightweight flywheel, and increased boost. Car B is quite similar to mine except he's got the Apex'i PowerFC, smaller exhaust, different air filter, and a different type of boost controller. Mine is better in that it's already got an ORC clutch (he was putting one in after the dyno session) and I've got a 3" exhaust system. Car A: 165kW (at wheels) Car B: 254ps (at wheels) = 188kW (at wheels) Let's say mine has the average of the two, at 176kW at the wheels. That's only 30kW less than the Levin, with the advantage of MUCH more grip, but the disadvantage of about 300kg extra weight. :( Worst case scenario: it will be a good race. Best case scenario: I win. :P EDIT: Please note that 165kW at the wheel is the worst/lowest dyno figure I can find on that page. If I could find a lower one, I'd use it so you know I'm not trying to work my own figures up. Regardless only a drag will prove which is quicker. If I lose I'll just focus on my 4A-GZE. :D Just gotta decide if I'll go twincharge or twinscrew. :D
  22. I'm inclined to agree. Once we hit about 50-60km/h the Levin should the lead due to more power and less weight. Of course, the GT-Four has more power potential than the Levin, but I have no intentions of trying to explore it. A GT28RS or a small GT30 would see the GT-Four lay waste to the Levin at all speeds. :P Stephen will have issues when he tries to race the TA22. :D
  23. I get first dibs on racing Stephen. GT-Four vs. Levin. Off the line will be a massacre, but once the Levin gets up to speed it should be interesting. :(
  24. SC14? You haven't got in touch to come and check out my SC12 housing...
  25. Keeping it to email for now - we'll advise if Shane's proposal is accepted. Need more info before saying any more. :lolcry:
