I'm again raising the possibility of a Toyota club for the NT, except this time I'm pushing for it to happen. :lolcry: If you have a Toyota and would be interested in joining a club of fellow Toyota enthusiasts, we will be holding a meeting on Saturday 28 June 2008 - location and time to be advised. We will be getting together to register interest and discuss the formation of an officially recognised club and what this involves. If you wish to attend, please post a reply below stating as such. We would like to get some idea of numbers before the event. If you know of anyone that might be interested that doesn't read these forums, please let them know that they are also welcome to attend. Just so you're all aware, Gregor (Sbox) will no longer be posting or checking RollaClub. This is nothing against anyone in the NT - unfortunately there has been a strong personality clash between Gregor and certain admin members.

The KE55 hasn't been running since 22 July 2007. Duh. First I had the tailshaft issue, then I had to give back the coil I'd borrowed and I still haven't tried Commodore ones out to see if they're suitable. I've got Shane, Stephen and my forms ready for entry. Anyone else before I submit them?

The '55 isn't worth showing. The only problem is if I enter the ZZE, Alley and I will only have one car between us, and she will need to get to work and I'll need to get to the showgrounds.

I can give you a lift - still not sure if I'm entering the ZZE112R or not though. Probably not.

All you actually need to do is submit your entry form. You won't have time to get the SC14 fitted before the show. Just leave the car as is until the show is over.

After attending the NT Motoring Council meeting last night on behalf of RollaClub, I was REALLY keen to have us put a display on. However... I just found out that to replace the clutch on the GT-Four, the whole engine & gearbox need to come out. :y: I love this car so much, yet it has so many things that I hate. :) My next performance car is going to have a longitudinal transmission - no more transverse gearboxes for me. :y: Anyway, long story short, I can still drive the GT-Four to the Extravaganza, just probably won't be able to enter it in the Streetcar Challenge on June 8. So I'll enter the GT-Four, Stephen can enter the AE82, and can I still rely on Shane to enter the AW11?

An engine display would be cool. But I could put that entire display on by myself. And not just a 4A-GE 16v, 4A-GE 20v, and 4A-GZE, but also a 13T, 13T-GEU/13T-GZEU, and until recently a 4K-C. :y: :P :yes: Don't forget BJ's. :yes: It won't arrive - you've been ripped off.

I was thinking that myself. I know there are two KE10's up here, a white one and a red one that looks like it has a lift kit. When Gregor gets the KE30 on the road it will be good. The orange KE55 fastback with white GT stripes looks good, but the guy didn't seem interested in joining RollaClub. It would be REALLY good to get a KE25/TE27 up here, but good luck buying one! :yes:

I'm not sure what to do. I'm a bit concerned about leaving my car at the showgrounds overnight (for two nights), but considering some of the other very nice cars that should be on display, I'm probably worrying for no reason. Obviously if you need your car, then there's no way it can be left overnight. At this stage only Stephen has put in an entry form - yes, I too was surprised that Stephen is the only organised one. :yes: :y: I'm sure we all agree that we only want to put our cars on display if it's to be part of a club display, not as individuals. I am willing to put the GT-Four and black Corolla on display, but am really not fussed if we don't do anything. I had planned on having Alley's TA22 ready to put on display, but have not had the facilities to be able to accomplish this. So realistically the only car I have that's worth looking at is the GT-Four. With the above in mind, am I to assume that RollaClub's entry would be: Stephen's AE82 My GT-Four & possibly ZZE122R Shane's AW11 This would be a decent display, but do we really want to bother? If we do enter, I'll probably also take some loose parts to try and sell, as I think we can swap/sell parts at the extravaganza too.

In light of the fact that cars have to be left overnight on the Friday & Saturday, is anyone still wanting to enter? I've become a bit wary of it, and would think it perfectly fair if everyone wants to pull out.

The first half of the day was awesome. The National Motoring Heritage Day cruise was boring, which is why I left. I just got the shits with putting around and worrying about how much longer the GT-Four's clutch would hold out. Maybe I should have been a bit more restrained at the track, but fark I had some fun. I also probably should have stopped doing handbrake turns and gunning the motor to drift out of the turns, but I also had a shit load of fun doing that. :y: New clutch is going to cost about $600 plus installation time. You really, really suck. You'd told me you were coming, and you backed out of yet another event like the testicle-less little pussy you are. The worst part was that I'd had to give a commitment on how many people were attending, and that was f@$ked up by your absence. :yes: Not happy. LOL - I wondered where you'd disappeared to. You really didn't miss anything in the afternoon. The morning at the track was where the fun was to be had. Still really shitty the clutch was slipping like it was - I got passed by the S2000 as a result. I would have DESTROYED him otherwise, as well as passing your MR2 and probably both WRX's in the first event. :P Can't wait to take it out on track again. :yes: :yes: :yes:

Feel free to enter lapsprints on the day though. And flag marshals are always needed if you wanted free entry to watch the day's racing.

That's what I'm saying. But there's no limit on the minimum. You can enter whatever you want, but I'm suggesting it may be a better idea to just go lapsprinting to start with. If you enter the lapsprinting, and are therefore covered by the insurance on your CAMS licence, you can passenger in cars in other events (not full racing though). So you could potentially ask someone really nicely if you could learn the track by going around in their car as a passenger, then attempting to do the same in your own car in the lapsprints.

The minimum age limit is 14 for a CAMS Level 2S licence (which is what's required for this event). So if you're driving on P plates, it's not an issue. In fact, you don't need a road licence, just a CAMS Level 2S. They cost about $46 for a day licence, or $80 (I think) for a year. HOWEVER, I would strongly recommend that if you don't have a 'performance' car, you start out with just the lapsprints. This Streetcar Challenge, whilst open to new competitors, is more suited to higher performance vehicles. Lapsprints are conducted with the expectation that cars will be slower, and with beginners only. As an example, I have taken the Starlet in the lapsprints, getting a best time of 1:41. At this pace, I got lapped by the faster cars (which start up front) by the third lap, meaning I only got two hot laps. Now the events are better broken up, with slower/beginner cars in lapsprints, and more experienced faster drivers moving up to the Streetcar Shootout and Streetcar Challenges when they are held. Sorry to discourage you, but if we get twelve cars on the track in each race, it could get pretty hairy, and a KE70 with a hot 4K won't cut the grade. I suspect my KE55 would be in the noticeably slower end of the field - it would have been in the previous Streetcar Challenge.

I want to race James Pocock. He and I are both hoping to go sub-1:30 at this event. I am very confident I'll be able to, not sure about if he's done enough mods to achieve it, though I think he's got more power and bigger brakes than previously.
