Don't try to tell me you'll need to seduce her to get her to join in. :D Damn, I REALLY need to get my act together and fix up a few of my cars. :hmm:
-
It's all good - anything to see another hot Corolla on the roads of Darwin. And I can hook you up with some Borg-Warner diffs if you need (mostly KE55 ones, but the centres can be swapped into KE70/AE71 housings). And I've got HEAPS of 4x114.3 stud pattern wheels if you ever want some.

Gregor has been notified - I'll be returning a 5K to him as soon as I get the ute. :D

LOL @ stupid threat. It will be interesting to see how it idles in light of the apparent issues that 4A-GZE's have with idling. Meh, as long as it revs like buggery it's all good.
-
Not if you set the idle to 1,500+rpm. :D
-
Hi Tech for all your Microtech needs. And the 95mm pulley should give 14psi, plus because it has no clutch it will give boost at all rpm, even from idle. :hmm:
-
Why do you have to take the sc off??? Or is it because it's so tight in the AW11 engine bay?
-
So you didn't get the pulley yesterday in like you were saying you would? Pulley would make it more fun though. :D

How to pull a 4A-GE out of an AE82 with front end damage: Excuse the tiny images - I've got a new phone and hadn't reset the image size yet. We ended up using an angle grinder and cutting through one strut tower and the side of the car so we could pull the radiator and front end away from the exhaust manifold. Next weekend I'll be taking the diff out of my blue KE55 and taking it to Sims. Then I've got to sort through all my loose parts and take excess stuff to the tip.

Same person spammed this thread. :D It's an interesting idea to have a 20v engine in the AE95, but I don't really think a high revving, small torque band motor is what the AE95 needs. A late model 4A-GZE still revs to 7,000-7,500rpm, but has the torque of a 2.0L engine (200Nm) at 4,400rpm. A blacktop has only 160Nm at about 5,500-6,000rpm.

Good to hear from you Daven! GT-Four is still where I left it after that cruise - haven't had the money to buy the CV joint yet. :D I've got about $1,000 in bills to pay by the end of the month. And I'm going on a week's leave to Tassie & Brisbane, so a fair bit of money will probably be spent while away. After that, I will hopefully be able to order the parts and fit them once they arrive. Not looking forward to fitting the bastard things though. :hmm:

Hi Joe, welcome (again). Don't know of any KE70/AE71's for sale at the moment. For a 5K, Gregor (Sbox) is the man to talk to. Andrew knows him, and he occassionally logs in on here to say hello. Give him a try, he might be able to hook you up.

Hi Rod - welcome to RollaClub. Looks like the one on the left is a higher spec model than the one on the right. Presumably a CSi or whatever Corolla 4WD's got called. Pretty certain they had 4A-FE's, although some earlier ones might have just had the 4A-F. Either way, manuals will be available from Supercheap/Repco, etc. If you wanted to drop in a replacement engine, you should chat to Tim (zmit) as he's got an AE92 Corolla Seca for sale with a reconditioned 4A-F. Other engine swaps are possible (and easy to do), like a 4A-GE, either sixteen valve or twenty valve, or a 4A-GZE, which is a supercharged version of the sixteen valve engine. The 7A-FE would also go straight in to give you a 1.8L engine instead of a 1.6L. Probably best just to stick to the stock motor for now though and get it running reliably. Are they both manuals? Cool if they are, not really an issue if they're not - just comes down to personal preference. Plenty of stuff you could do with these cars though. A supercharged engine in an AE95 would be sweet as you'd get torque and power, and the AWD drivetrain should be able to put it to good use.

Welcome Joe. No, you don't actually have to own a Corolla to be a member, just need to have the Corolla love. I'll add you to the list.
-
Good question. One best answered in song, I think.
-
Not bad. It'll still need to be tuned for your engine though. My MT8 doesn't have its hand controller. :sob:

TRD Aurion's farking hammer!!! Doesn't launch very hard though as they wheelspin too much. I drove #236, a silver one - think it was a 3500SL (top of the line).
-
Try looking into parts for speedway cars - I know there's a guy up here (Darwin) that gets complete fibreglass front ends for his KE55 (a clamshell assembly) for about $500. I think bonnets on their own were about $200-300. Slightly less than $3,000 anyway. :sob:

Since when don't emoticons count as words? :sob:

WTF??? :no2: :y: :sob:

Five cars, plus he wants to get rid of that white Falcon wagon they've got up the side of the block. I need to get rid of the AE82 and blue KE55. I'm hoping they'll be patient and put up with Lola and the TA22's until we get a block - seeing a mortgage broker next Saturday.

Meh, haven't felt a need to post anything. Although I did just get a quote on my shed - now 'only' going to be 15x18x3.2m, as 18x30x5.3m was going to cost about six figures to get built. Now I've just got to find a block to put it on and get approved for a loan to do it all. Pulling cars apart this weekend as the in-laws have (understandably) cracked the shits with having so many cars around there.
-
LOL - where's that RL announcement from? [Word Count: 6]

We're outdoors, no limit on room that I know of. It's at the showgrounds, and the more cars are entered, the more space we use. Believe me, there is HEAPS of room for PLENTY more cars at the extravaganza. Other clubs on show include MVEC, Ford Car Club of the NT, Holden Club of the NT, HSV Owners Club, FPV Owners Club, Patriots motorcycle club, Mopar club, and many, many more.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law best show out i got me self the first 2 seasions LOL - I didn't pick up on that quote. Awesome work Andrew!!! By the way, did you get that thing I sent you? You know, that thing? My AE82 bluetop doesn't have compression on cylinder three or four. May need rebuilding including big compression and cams, etc. I'm seriously considering buying a stock 20v ECU and loom and then using the silvertop in my TA22 IP car initially. I'm starting to think there might be some cost advantages to doing it. :hmm: At least then I could use the bigport head on my 4A-GZE when I use it again. And I've replied to your PM - keep it to PM's for now. ;)
