It does already have a 13T, and I've got a 2T-GEU head sitting around, but those motors are SOOO heavy. A 4A-GE is a fairly light motor, even though it's still got an iron block, and there's just a mind-blowing number of different parts available for them. I also REALLY, REALLY like the idea of trying out one of these 2029cc stroker kits (if money permits). The company that manufactures them is checking if they've got a reconditioned 81mm or 83mm kit available for me, and if they do, they could sell it to me reasonably cheaply. The 83mm kit would give a 1711cc capacity with standard pistons. The 2029cc kit costs a fair bit more, plus it uses at least 83mm pistons, possibly 84mm, which wouldn't be cheap. :'(

LOL - not quite. A 3S-GE would be interesting, but apparently there are oiling issues with them. Also, as this is a TA22, it's already setup to take a T50 gearbox, so I can VERY easily drop a 4A-GE in. Plus I'm picking up an AE82 twincam (with original bigport) and a 20v engine this weekend, along with another T50, AE86 coilovers & power steering arms, and various other bits. Basically it makes sense for me to use a 4A-GE. The other thing is, as this is going to be a proper Improved Production (Group 3J) car, it will have to fit into a class, and I prefer under 2L. I could potentially buy a 3S-GTE and drop that in, but I've got no real interest in going in the over 2L class yet. Up here because of our small population and lack of cars, we've only got over or under 2L. I figure I may as well build a 1600cc car initially, then later on when I get more serious, buy a 7A block and a stroker kit from Canada and go to 2029cc and see what can be done with an under 2L car (you can go up to 2040cc and still be under 2L).

My new TA22: Will be getting a 4A-GE - probably a 16v. Although there is the possibility of a worked 20v becoming available within the next twelve months or so...

You did not go for a drive with Adam. You got passed by Adam. You got LAGGED by Adam - BIG time. Just because you happened to be using the same bit of road at the same time as me does NOT mean you went for a drive with me. :'( :hmm:

Please do take the time to fix your mistakes, as people do get a bit sick of trying to translate. Also, rule 1.5.0 of the RollaClub Rules states: Wireless sucks.

You should have seen the NAMSC bbq I did last weekend. All the snags were looking beautiful (even though the person that started cooking them didn't use oil either :'( ), but then I got distracted at one point trying to deal with various people's payment and suddenly when I turned around I had a heap of black sausages. At least 75% of the sausages were still good, but I was extremely shitty about the ones that were killed. Just wait, next time we do a bbq I'm going to cook again - no burnt ones this time.

LOL - he was already talking about it being the coil when he was chatting to me last night before he called you. :'( Twinky would be good to have as well. Now I've just got to convince you to buy my AE82 twinky brake setup so you can fit it to your blue AE82.

Fifty rolls of 100mph tape gives it the ability to do 5,000mph. I suppose I did underestimate it somewhat. According to Star Trek, Warp One is the speed of light, Warp Two is ten times Warp One, Warp Three is ten times Warp Two, etc. Therefore Warp Ten (which is everywhere in the universe at once) is [The Speed of Light]x109. The speed of light (in a vacuum) is approximately 3x108m/s. Therefore Warp Ten is 3x1017m/s, which is 3x1014km/s, which is 83,333,333,333km/h. That's 51,759,834,369mph, so 517,598,344 rolls of 100mph tape should to the trick. :'( I have too much time.

I don't have any pics of your car before you owned it. I never saw it when Steve owned it - I'd heard he had it, then I heard he'd sold it.
-
You mean doing Warp 10 - that's Next Generation Warp 10 of course, not the Original Series. Just contact Q - omnipetence and omnipresence beat going fast anyday!

Did Gregor help you get the 4A-LC running, or you managed on your own? Good news anyway! So will the 4A-FC conversion still go ahead, or you'll just wait until you can do a proper 4A-GE conversion?

Pictures of anything, or are you referring to something in particular?? Random pictures: This what you were chasing???

Don't forget the fifty rolls of 100mph tape to hold the bog in when the rocket's activated. Of course, you guys are being a bit silly - why use a rocket when more performance is available through a mild 2K. Bore it out and use Toyota Formula One pistons and rods, rev it to 27,412rpm (don't go over or under or you'll have issues), shave half a mil off the head to get ะป:1 compression and you'll be set!

I didn't read through all the info - just the title and Vehicle Details table - both of which say auto.
-
What makes you think that? :y: Did you see me at the bus stop waiting to be picked up to go to work? I'll bet you did you bastard. :S They didn't have it outside Hi Tech for long - it was inside there after I'd been waiting at the bus stop for only 5-10 minutes. Then again, I may have been walking from Hi Tech to the bus stop when you went past. No expense spared - except it's an auto. If I were going to do a V8 conversion into a Supra (which would be AWESOME) I'd want to do a manual conversion at the same time. Auto's suck. Turbo's suck. 20-valve's suck.

Everyone can have a ride in the GT-Four, just not all at once. :y: $10 entry fee per person per ride though. Fuel ain't cheap! :S And Tim, I knew what a heli was after I thought about it - I was being a little bit sarcastic - no one gets my appalling sense of humour on Boost. :P
-
Washed the GT-Four last night, then went and got a tank of fuel ($88 = OUCH!) and took her for a bit of a drive. It's so nice driving a car with grunt. The Starlet is fun to drive, as you just strap the ring out of it tell you get up to speed. The GT-Four you just put it in second or third and it'll EASILY do whatever speed you want. Doesn't like doing 60km/h in fourth though, so it's difficult to drive it and obtain good fuel economy.
-
LOL - the GT-Four can chop Anthony's S2000. After today's service it should DESTROY the S2000. :bash: You won't stand a chance for a LONG time, and if ever you look like being able to come close to me at any point, I'll just get a second job, save some money, then drop $5,000-10,000 on the motor and get 400+hp. You'd be truely f@$ked then. :P Yep, THIS Friday, 6pm at Hungry Jack's Casuarina (and all the other shit afterwards). Daven, if you could give a couple of guys a ride, that would be great. Oops, apparently I have somehow over-committed myself. I can only have four passengers in my nice clean car (as of last night). It'd be good if at least one, but preferably a couple of you, get a ride with Daven. Tim, if your car runs, that'd be good. If not, I'm sure someone will give you a ride in their car.
-
That sucks. Look on the bright side - at least now we might all be able to come along and give you a hand. :y:
-
Here's hoping to that. :y:

Gasket kits are available online. Pretty sure all the oil seals are as well. Why? What have you done?
-
That's basically what these ones are, bought them from Bunnings for about $20 - BARGAIN! Used them only once during a partial power loss at Coles. :bash: LOL - you can keep dreaming Daven. I WILL flog the AE92. Scrub that, I'll DESTROY the AE92. :S Sure - I'll bring it in Friday night with me. I think seven is the max - pretty sure that was the last cruise (with the bbq at Nightcliff). We had Tim, Gregor, Rhys, Stephen, Shane, Meg, Daven, and myself. Wait, that's eight cars!!! Woo-hoo!!! What's more there were six Corollas present, also a record! We should be able to beat that in the not-too-distant future, with Tim, Gregor, Stephen, Meg, Daven, Andrew, and me all driving Corollas. And obviously the total number of cars/people involved would be possible to increase too. :(

If there was a 240v power supply nearby I could plug in my ridiculously bright workshop spotlights. :y: We could do a proper photoshoot then. :S
-
That picture looks GREAT. LOVE the colour of the WRX! I thought no lights would be better if we're doing a shoot at twilight/sunset. After that we could proceed to somewhere with lights for more photos like that one. :y:

Thanks again for accepting, Daven. Obviously it will be better when you're back in town permenantly, but this way you can get a feel for your new moderating powers straight away. You don't actually end up getting to do that much more, as we can't delete posts, suspend or ban members, or do anything outside the NT area. But you can edit posts where needed and moderators will always help you if you request it. You may notice that the admin & global moderators come through the NT section regularly to keep an eye on us and help clean up all the spam Stephen generates. They do that for every section, but a little bit more for us due to the unusually high number of posts we seem to generate. :y:
