We need to make an appointment with a financial advisor. Then we can find out how much we can actually borrow, and which is the best option for us as far as keeping our current place or selling, etc.

The shed will have lights, power, and water. I'm eyeing off some blocks in Humpty Doo for around $260,000-280,000. There are some apparently available for $240,000, which would mean I could get one, with a shed built on it for under $300,000 (I hope). I've just got to prove to the bank that I could afford around $600/week in repayments. Alley and I can afford it, or we could if we were renting space out anyway. Doing a (very) rough cost analysis, it looks like buying a shed and living in it, and selling our unit might be the best option. ;) I really wanted to hang onto that unit too.

Spiders? Not in my f@$king shed!!! I hate spiders. Uh, 9am - 5pm. You bloody pisshead - you're the only one that would assume Andrew meant doing an all-nighter. I will need the spring compressors back so I can put the struts back on the KE70. Although, if the strut tops are still attached it won't be an issue. Do want them back at some point though. I could sell him a very neat KE70 shell for $1,200 (it's even better than the AE71 I sold you Andrew), with AE71 crossmember. For the right price I could sell him the shell with an engine and some other bits. And for the right price I could build it for him, but for a built KE70 with 4A-GE he'd be looking at about $4,000. But it'd be a sweet little car and go like buggery. ;) Hell, I could probably sell him the KE70 rolling shell, with a 4A-GE and T50 for $2,000. Then he'd just have to put it together and get some extra bits (like carpet) and get it registered.

Alley's got that weekend off, so it's not really any good for me. I'm trying to ensure that I don't do things on the few weekends she gets off. And the T-18 diff may not go in as easily as you might think - not sure on this. The KE70 I've bought already has a T-18 diff fitted (apparently). Just needs a custom tailshaft. If you've got the AE71 tailshaft I might be interested in buying it back from you or maybe even swapping it for the T-18 diff on my KE70.

But if we lived in the shed I'd have to put up with the farking noise and people coming around constantly. ;) Although, it might inspire me to get my cars finished if others are working on theirs.

Could probably do it so it's whenever you need access. There would be some rules, but only basic stuff like if you're taking anyone else there, you'd need to tell me first. If it were going to contain fourteen cars or so, I wouldn't want anyone's stuff getting nicked, so I'd only want people I trust going in there. The guy with the Supra has mentioned that he'd want access at funny hours due to his work and he'd be there fairly regularly. I haven't mentioned this idea to him as I don't know how soon it could happen. Alley and I would need to be able to borrow about $350,000 to do it. But Alley wants to live in the shed, which is a farking stupid idea, but I can't seem to talk her out of it. I'd prefer to have the shed built, live in our current unit for another 1-2 years and then have a nice house built on the big block when we can afford it. Then we can move into the nice house and rent our unit out.

Uh, no Suzuki parts here. Would you guys pay $20/week for a car space in a shed? That's $20/week per car space.

LOL, I know the bigport head flows more than the smallport, and has slightly better cams. I was just curious how you were ending up with a spare. I may need it, or maybe not. It depends if Danno buys Shane's bigport or not. If he doesn't, I will, leaving me with a smallport 4A-GZE, two bigport 4A-GE's, and a silvertop 20v. :sob: The father-in-law doesn't mind as much as the mother-in-law. Neither are really happy about the situation, but the mother-in-law is worse. If I could I would buy a block and a BIG shed ASAP and rent space to the five or six people who have already expressed a need for car space. I've got four cars that need to be parked in a shed, Tim has two or three, Gregor has two or three, Shane has the RX7, I presume Andrew would put the AE71 there, and there is the guy building the V12 Supra that needs two spots. That's six people needing room for up to 14 cars by my count. So I just need $280,000 for a block, around $10,000 to connect power & a bore, and about $50,000 to build an 18x30m shed. Can anyone loan a brother some cash? :y: Idiocracy was good - different to what I was expecting. Loved the Time Machine. ;) RollaClub shed FTW!!! Might need to look into renting one between us or something? Although, if I could get $20/week per car space for people to use my shed space, with five people renting ten spaces, that's $200/week extra I can afford to pay off a loan. That adds about $100,000 to the total amount I could borrow. Hmm... :bash:

I can come and have a look with you if you want, but I was planning on going to Hi Tech to discuss something with Dave. I'll give you a call now. EDIT: See you at 5pm. :jamie:

It's even got the wheels I want (although I probably wouldn't have picked them for a KE10).
-
Damn I wish I had the money (and space) for this: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=17770. What a sweet looking KE10!
-
Okay. Might be a busy weekend for me. Turn's out I am buying the KE70 and all the parts. And apparently Alex Newman was meant to pick up the bigport on Danno's behalf. But I presume Danno hasn't even paid you for the motor yet. My mother in law is going to kill me. :jamie: I need a shed DESPERATELY.
-
I'm after a bigport head. Why did you buy a bigport head if you don't need it though? Wreckers might have one.
-
Excellent - it would be very good to have your car along as well Tim. As for the photoshoot, I'm DEFINITELY up for this (once my cars are ready). I would like to make infomation boards for each vehicle to be on display in the show, and having a picture on each of these would be really good. We'll have to organise a time to get together before the show so we can get some group photos done as well, as I'd like to have a RollaClub information board as well. Once the dry season sets in, I'm hoping to paint the KE55, even if it's just a bodgy job. That way it will look half decent for the motorshow.
-
Yeah, might do Stephen. I'll try and remember to SMS you to let you know when I'm around there. You could even come and help! ;)
-
LOL - yep, I liked it. Mine's purdyer though. ;)

KE55E was the sedan. KE55S was the coupe. Toyota suddenly decided that their handy numbering system wasn't good enough anymore. ;)

There's uncertainty which engine was used in the AW11 Group S. There were at least three models built, one transverse MR, one longitudinal MR, one longitudinal mid-engined AWD. The engine may have been the 3S-GTE in one or more of these models, but there is also a very strong chance that it was the 503E or possibly even a 152E or 4T-GTE. The 503E was talked about as being based on the 3S-GTE, but apparently this is untrue and it is far closer to the 3T-GTE! The 152E was apparently similar to the 18R-G, but with a 16v head. I still want an AW11 with 3S-GE (SW11/MR2 Mk1.5). And a Group S replica with 3S-GTE would be sweet too - I wouldn't be able to afford to make it AWD though. :bash:

If there is anything you need you'll be paying a fortune for it. I've got to raise $2,100 to pay for my parts. ;)
-
Yeah. Tonight we'll be doing a bit (I think). Over the weekend we plan on getting the 4A-GE into the KE70, and getting everything we need off the AE82 front so it can be taken away.
-
The GT-Four has a dry plate clutch (apparently). Not sure about the clutch to use with the 4A-GTE and W55. Are you using a standard 4A-GE flywheel? I presume something like an Exedy heavy duty clutch would do the trick.
-
I'm both, bitch.

Flat changing in the GT-Four? I have NEVER done that. Done it in pretty much every other car I've ever had, but DEFINITELY not the GT-Four. Too much grunt and too hard to do gear changes in it. Funny you mention that. I just checked and it only ever won one WRC round. I thought it won the 1994 World Rally Championship, but it was actually the ST185 that did that - I guess because the ST205 wasn't officially homologated until 1995. The ST205 won the 1995 Tour de Corse. In 1995, Toyota was banned from WRC for three years for using an illegal air restrictor (it didn't actually restrict the air under load - VERY sneaky). Then they returned in 1998 with Corolla WRC (an AE112 Corolla 3-door with ST205 running gear) and in 1999 again won the WRC. Here's Toyota's WRC wins: 1989 Rally Australia - ST165 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1990 Rally of Great Britain - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Rally of Finland - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Rally New Zealand - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Acropolis Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Safari Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Bjorn Waldegaard 1991 Rallye Catalunya - ST165 GT-Four - Armin Schwarz 1991 Rally Argentina - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rally New Zealand - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Tour de Corse - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rally de Portugal - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rallye Monte Carlo - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Swedish Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Mats Jonsson 1992 Rally of Great Britain - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Rally Catalunya - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Rally New Zealand - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1993 Rally Australia - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Rally of Finland - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Rally Argentina - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Swedish Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Mats Jonsson 1993 Rallye Monte Carlo - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 San Remo Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Rally Argentina - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Tour de Corse - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Ian Duncan 1994 Rally de Portugal - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1995 Tour de Corse - ST205 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1998 Rally New Zealand - Corolla WRC - Carlos Sainz 1998 Rallye Catalunya - Corolla WRC - Didier Auriol 1998 Rallye Monte Carlo - Corolla WRC - Carlos Sainz World Rally Championship: 1st in 1993, 1994, 1999 2nd in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1998 3rd in 1977 66th in 1995 - lol, cheating is cool :bash: Interesting to note that it appears the Corolla WRC didn't actually win any rounds in 1999, but was consistent enough that it won the Championship for that year. I have that problem too. But with practice and concentration you can make yourself last longer to help your woman enjoy the experience too.
