  1. Nice work Andrew! Just checked it out. :P
  2. Also, I've been thinking about how many cars we could potentially have on display. Cars don't need to be complete - we can show them as works in progress, but I'd prefer to make things as pretty as possible. Here's what I'm thinking: Adam - KE55 (Lola), TA22 (Tamika), ZZE122 (Layla), ST205 (Sally), TA22 (Vanessa) Andrew - AE71 (White) & AE102 (Red) Stephen - AE82 (PURE-SX) Tim - AE82 (ZMIT) Daven (need to ask to borrow it) - AE92 (SIROLLA) Shane - AW11 (MISTR2) Meg - ZZE123 (GEMZU) That makes up to twelve cars, across seven owners. Of those twelve, about eight are already looking pretty good. My KE55 just needs a bit of paint (quick cheapy job) and it's look a LOT better. I could have an engine in Vanessa pretty quickly, but I'd leave the paint (it looks like a race car simply by having a cage). And Tamika looks okay on the outside, but has no trim. It wouldn't be too hard to mock something up. I'm hoping that by June, Andrew has an engine and interior in the AE71. If he can do that, and I can make my three (above) look reasonable, then we've got twelve presentable cars. Would all of you be prepared to put your cars on display? Also, I'm trying to get approval to get some RollaClub shirts made up. If I get this approval, then I will arrange to have them ready for the Extravaganza. I don't know how much they'd cost, but I wouldn't think they'd be more than $40 each. Again, I don't know if they'd be button-up shirts, t-shirts, or polo shirts. I'll wait for approval before getting quotes. Would you all be interested in buying shirts? Would you all come to the Extravaganza and wear them and hang around to represent your club and let people know more about it (and your car)?
  3. Hurry up and update it - I just looked and it wasn't updated yet. :P
  4. If we could recruit four people to the club over the weekend, I'd be stoked!
  5. LOL - at least you're progressing... unlike some others on this site (*cough*Adam*cough*). Damn, it's pretty bad when even I am telling myself off! :P
  6. I went to the NT Motoring Council meeting last night. It now appears that there may be a $5.00 entry fee for anyone that wants to put their car on display at the 2008 Shannons Motoring Extravaganza. Do any of you have any issues with this? If it were $10/car would that put you off? My feeling is that it's pretty cheap, and even at $10/car I'd still want to put four cars in (of my own). Also, if we're going to have RollaClub cars on display, I want someone sitting by them all day on both days of the event. That way if anyone comes to take a closer look at our cars, we can tell them about the club and try and get more people/cars involved. I will provide promotional material, including cards with contact details, flyers, car info boards for each car on display, and of course, each car will have at least one RollaClub sticker. How many of you will make the effort to come and sit with the cars for at least half a day? We'll seat up some chairs and I'll try to arrange a shade structure so we don't fry. :P
  7. 4A-GTE here yet?
  8. Nah, we were just talking about the difference between the regular GT-Four and the Group A/WRC.
  9. No - where the fark would you get that idea? The Group A was just a limited edition of the regular GT-Four with some minor changes (eg. anti-lag, water spray, etc). There's uncertainty about exactly what the changes were. There's some belief that the Group A had a steel turbine in the turbo, but some believe that it's just a ceramic. No one knows much about the ST205 model, aside from it goes harder than any other model.
  10. Australia only got the Group A model, not the regular ST205 GT-Four. We got the regular ST185 model, but that's different to the ST205 (different width, more grunt, etc). CBC don't list the whole shafts. Cesco don't list the whole shafts, but I've just found out they've got the outer CV, and the bloke there reckons it sounds like that's the problem, not the inner. How much do they want? $77 for the outer CV, $15.40 for a new inner CV boot (I may as well service the inner while I'm under the car). f@$kING SCORE!!!
  11. Do you mean the standard front wheel drive Celica CV's? I was told by Toyota that they don't fit.
  12. Email answered - been pretty busy today. Friggin' issues with cars on a wet day.
  13. Using the foot park brake or the 'P' button?
  14. The in-gear acceleration is pretty groovy though. Stomp the accelerator and sit constantly at maximum power. I managed to get it to chirp it's tyres in the wet. It was weird though. I held the brake and accelerator (both on full), then when the lights went green I released the brake. The CVT took a second to think, then I started moving and the revs went up to the max, then it chirped the tyres. It was a really weird sensation. So weird I had to try it again. :P It would be really interesting to try a hybrid with a CVT, but with a V6. I think the Lexus's use a regular auto, and I think it's the same with the Camry and Highlander (Kluger) hybrids that the US get.
  15. Hurry up... :P Just picked up a Toyota Prius. They're... different. I don't see the point with them really. Nice car - definitely wouldn't pay $40,000 for one. EDIT: Just checked Facebook. NICE!!!
  16. Damn - I thought you were posting a link to the photos from Friday night. :P I'd seen the NAMSC ones through the Boost link. Any of Friday's photo's available yet?
  17. Regardless, this TA22 will be getting a 4A-GE, possibly upgraded to a 7A block with stroker kit at a later date. With a 1.6L capacity I should get about 210-220hp, with the 2029cc capacity (if I go that way), I'd be hoping for about 250-260hp. Either way it'll be heaps.
  18. It's absolutely ridiculous, isn't it!
  19. I need to confirm it's a CV joint yet - I didn't get a chance to get the wheel off, as it was too late when I got home (don't want to piss off neighbours) and I wasn't home all Sunday. CV's are $1,100 per side from Bridge Toyota. I'll give CBC a call when I get a chance and see how much less they want to charge. I know on my Galant I paid $800 for a driveshaft from Darwin Mitsubishi, and later paid about $120 for a complete shaft (with CV's) from CBC. Slight difference. :) 18R's are okay. As Andrew said, they get modified HEAPS in the USA. A better option is to get an 18R-G head and put that on for twincam power. Pretty sure the conversion is the same as what I'm going to do with the 13T - remove the pushrods and stock cam, rotate the bearings, put on twincam head & intake system. :P I couldn't find any pics. Only NAMSC motorkhana & racing stuff.
  20. Have you both turned poof? One with chrome wheels (GHEY) and the other coming out of the closet (FINALLY).
  21. http://www.ajps.com.au/preview/aeparts/w5x_bellhousing.asp If you order anything from AJPS, do not do so without talking to me first. There is stuff I need from them. EDIT: http://www.ajps.com.au/preview/aeparts/kel...o_manifolds.asp And for Stephen...
  22. Did you hear my wheels spin? It happened. Damn it's got some grunt. :hmm: :P  $650 is DAMN steep. That's why I want to stick with a T50. I said meet at Hungry Jack's at 6pm-ish, so I'll be around at your place before then. I'll be grabbing Andrew and Shane from there - who else do I need to collect? It's looking pretty gloomy here - Stephen and Tim - are your cars all going to be okay? I know Daven's will be because he doesn't own a box (AE82). :'(
  23. Velika??? Sorry, but that sounds like a fat, ugly Russian chick. Possibly Czech. Either way, no way. She has been named - she cannot be renamed. :hmm: I only came up with the name this morning when I realised I still hadn't named her. I haven't changed wheels. :P I was going to bring the wheels and semi slicks in today to get them done, but then I would have had to have gone home to pick up the GT-Four after work, and I can't be f@$ked. This way I save money and the back end may just be a bit slipperier on Sunday. And I'm happy with half a bar. But I like 1.1 of boost. :'(
  24. I was going to take the GT-Four to Bridge Toyota for a service, but when I called them and they didn't even know what a water-to-air intercooler was, I got more than a bit scared off. I know Dave, I like his work. And yes, there was a mod done. Turbosmart Single Stage In-Cabin boost controller. :'( I've been hinting at it since I booked the car in. Didn't any of you notice my signature with the line: Coming Soon: BOOST? Boost was written in red, so it should have stood out. And this morning I changed my sig to say how much boost it's now making. BTW, even though we cranked the controller up a HEAP, we haven't hit the fuel cut. Which means there's a leak or blockage somewhere in the system. I've told Dave that when I have money again, and the car's due for a service (in 5,000km), I'll book it in with him again and get him to check it all out. So there's possible more potential there. Plus I'll be buying a boost gauge (in psi) so we can calibrate it to get the full 17psi (once the issue is corrected). EDIT: I also added the new TA22 to my sig. I decided to name her Vanessa, because I couldn't think of anything else to rhyme with Celica or Toyota or TA22 (good luck with that one), so I figured I'd use a female name I like. I think Vanessa's a pretty sexy name and the TA22 is a very sexy car.
  25. I'm determined to prove my ability now. It's too bad, you've all got to put up with it again. :'( I'm region leader - I said so.
