I count four - me, Shane, Andrew, Stephen. Although I suppose Tim needs a ride too... I can only have four people in the car including driver. :( Hmm, call shotgun then insult the car. There's a good way NOT to get a ride in the GT-Four. :bash: You may call my car a GT-Bore, but then I might call your mum a GT-Whore. Or say that you're as thick as a GT-Door. Or just punch you in the GT-Jaw. :S Damn, I'm SOOO funny. :y: Cesco - 55 Coonawarra Rd, Winnellie. You said that the night shots from the first night motorkhana weren't turning out that great and they were f@$kING AWESOME!!! I thought there'd be too many buildings around Cullen Bay that would ruin the shots. Nightcliff or Casuarina foreshore would be good. Bunnings car park might be okay. Never been there at night. I'll try and arrange to have it reset - I had wondered why she hadn't been on in so long.

Sounds like this is turning into a cruise in one car. :P Stephen, you can jump in the GT-Four as well if it's raining. I'll pick you up as well. How about we meet at Hungry Jacks Casuarina at 6-6:30pm? We can grab some food, hang around and chat for a bit, then drive around town for a bit. If we start at 6pm we might be able to have some food then stop somewhere for some twilight & sunset photos. :y: I'm hoping for a cool night without any rain. :S

You're both pussies. Shane, if you can find a way into Casuarina, you can jump in the GT-Four and cruise around with me. Andrew, because you're nearby, I can pick you up if you'd like.

:y: Not sure if/what changes Redwarf has made, but I'm certain we're being watched. Let's try and keep it car event related plese folks. :S I'm DEFINITELY up for a cruise on Friday night. I will have the GT-Four back from Hi Tech and will be keen to try it out. I'll probably drive it to work on Friday, so I might just bring a change of clothes to work, stay back a little while, then we can meet in Casuarina or something. Sound good?

When is the AW11 going to be driveable again?
-
Server issues? I haven't noticed any of late. It's been pretty damn good actually. Maybe I'm not on here as often as certain others... It sucks when there's work to be done. |blink|
-
Good point. So can you all try and attend the motorkhana 30 March? It would be good to have you all there, preferably competing, but watching is fun too. |blink|
-
At least my AE86 coilovers and RX7 brakes should still bolt in as easily as they would into the KE55. |blink|
-
Was that Alex Tate's???

Killswitch and I should be doing a compression test tonight, so unless that doesn't work we should be okay. Thanks though Gregor. |blink|

Nice work! |blink| I'd love to go 4WD-ing sometime. In fact, I'll be doing a 2-day 4WD course soon - hopefully in a V8 78-series, but probably not. ;) We get to get ourselves bogged then get ourselves out, so it should be fun. :)

You really can be a f@$king idiot Stephen. My goals for RollaClub in the NT were, and still are: - Get more members This has happened, but I would have liked to have seen about twenty active members by this time. At this stage we've got about five active. - Hold regular events Events haven't been as regular as I would have liked, and I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for trying to organise another after last time. That's all I wanted. I don't think it's a big ask, it just hasn't happened. There are heaps of nice Corollas around, whose owners are not members of RollaClub. I try and encourage such types to join when I see/meet them, but haven't had a huge amount of luck. Hopefully at the Motoring Extravaganza in June we'll attract some more members, so that's a good start. Events are a tad pointless when we don't have that many members, although things are slowly improving. The main reason for making Daven a Region Leader is to bring in some more enthusiasm.
-
Nope - still Region Leader as well. I just wanted someone to help out as it's grown a bit hard to maintain my enthusiasm after three years of getting nowhere in the position.
-
Hopefully it won't be half-arsed. That's exactly what I want to avoid doing with this car, unlike some of the mistakes I made with Lola (like cutting the front to fit a VN radiator).
-
Some of you may or may not have noticed that Daven (sirolla) now has a new title in his member profile. This is because I have asked the moderators to make him a Region Leader for the NT section. I am still Region Leader as well, but I wanted someone to help grow the club and improve it in the NT in 2008. I have selected Daven because he has been in RollaClub almost as long as I have, and has always been a great member. When he returns to Darwin full time in mid 2008, he will be able to contribute greatly to the NT section once again. Congratulations to Daven on this promotion of sorts - I hope you all make him feel welcome in this new role, and support him in improving RollaClub in the NT.

With the slightly dodgy compression test we got about 125-150 on Cylinder 1, 100-125 on Cylinder 2, and nothing on Cylinder 3 or 4. |blink|

Sorry - didn't see your post until just now Tim. Motorkhana was good - waiting in the rain at Hughes for an hour and a half for no one to turn up sucked a bit. Was FREEZING in the Corolla's aircon on the way from Hughes to Hidden Valley. Couldn't turn it off as I had ice in the back of the car that I didn't want melting through the car. CAMS officials seemed happy enough with the way things went. John Newman's Ferrari lasted the event - sounded AWESOME!!! Simon Bulasch & Zane Baldwin's Skyline Tank was kick arse - seemed to do a lot more circle work than each map specified. :) Would have been good to have had more people there - the rain wasn't too bad and it made the surface nice and slippery. No surprises to see Stephen turn up and pussy out ASAP. Didn't enter any events and made excuses about not being able to use Alison's car - even though she stood there and said she'd told him he could use it. :hmm: And he didn't even hang around long enough to buy a sausage!!! ;) Hopefully I'll see you all at the next khana on 30 March. |blink|

Please excuse the lack of updates, but since 22 July not a lot has been happening. I have now sold the S13 discs that I bought, as I've decided to use AE86 struts with the RX7 caliper conversion as shown on Toymods & AE86 Driving Club. The new brackets would already be ready for me, but the guy making them had run out of 8mm thick steel, so he's got to wait for more to come in. Considering I only gave him the CAD diagrams last week, I'm EXTREMELY happy. Even more so considering they're not costing me anything. At all. Except I will buy him a carton or something as a thank you. I have been doing some wheeling and dealing, and this weekend I should be picking up a set of AE86 D2 coilovers and power steering arms at a very low price. Will also include a 20v engine - and possibly a KE70 shell, AE82 TwinCam parts car (with engine), AE71 crossmember, and T50 gearbox with 4A-GE bellhousing. Depends on what I can arrange with some other people. More importantly, I'm STRONGLY considering purchasing a CAMS log booked TA22 Celica. It needs a bit of work to be finished, but is otherwise pretty good. EXCEPT, it's got a 13T motor, which is farken useless. This is the same as what I've got in the other TA22 I bought (from the same guy), except I've only got one 2T-G head, and I want to use it on the road TA22 (along with an SC12 & 2T-GEU EFI setup I've got here). Therefore, if all goes to plan on the weekend, I'll get the T50 with bellhousing and the silvertop engine. So I'm thinking that I could drop both of those into the CAMS approved TA22 and keep the 13T and it's T50 as spares for the road car. This would give me an under-1600 racecar that would be FAR safer than Lola. I would NOT use the supercharged engine for a race car as I'd have to restrict it, thereby losing any advantage it might have. So what would happen with Lola & her engine? Well, the plan is to buy a big block with a shed in the next six to twelve months, so I wouldn't have to do anything with her until I'd fully made up my mind about my preferred option. I also won't be racing this year, as I've made a conscious decision to do some official duties to help the local racing club (NAMSC) and save some money at the same time. That way when I do go racing in 2009, I won't feel as guilty about not being able to help out as a flag marshall (or whatever) plus I should have an appropriately prepared car to race in. I may take Lola out every now and then for a play so that I don't lose interest in actually building a good car. But the likelyhood is that if I build a TA22 racecar, I wouldn't need Lola. And as she can't be registered (not that shell anyway), I'd most likely buy a DIY Clubman kit (or a half assembled one) and drop the 4A-GZE in that. I could then sell off the good KE55 suspension bits I've acquired over time. There's no certainty about any of this at the moment anyway, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Nope. Never needed to try a compression test - hope I don't have to either.

Ke70/ae71/te72/ae86 Similarities & Differences
ancullen replied to ancullen's topic in KE70 Technical Articles
Pretty certain that they're not a simple bolt on affair - haven't tried myself though. -
Oops - if that's the case then I'll cancel my booking for getting the GT-Four serviced by you then. Damn, I can't believe I fell for that. :)
-
Well if it wasn't a genuine offer, it was so Daven could drive it for a while... Sounded genuine to me - no smiley faces or poking tongues emoticons. :)
-
LOL - we're constantly looking at purchasing new test tracks. I can't give you an exact number on current ownership, but let me tell you - there's a few! I believe the Great Ocean Rd is one of ours.

On one of the cruises we stopped at a set of lights next to each other, then when they went green we raced slightly up hill as we turned left onto the Daly Street bridge (private test track). I wheelspun, you got ahead.
