Nope - don't think I've got a spare starter motor for one. :dance: I've only got the one that's on Lola, and I'll need that. As for the hard launches, I'll definitely need to be launching hard when racing in IP. If I start breaking gearboxes as a result, then I'll need to upgrade to a W-series gearbox and bigger diff. At least putting a W-series in a TA22 is easy, as I can just use an RA28 gearbox support. The diff will cause a little bit of an issue, as it will require a custom tailshaft, which is what I was hoping to avoid. Plus it'll add a heap of weight, and my whole concept is to keep the car as light and cheap as possible. Which is why I was sticking to a 4A-GE. Hmm, too many decisions to make. :lmao: If I wanted a W-series gearbox and heavier duty drivetrain, I'd also go for a bigger engine. An RA28 with a turbocharged 3RZ-FE would be an awesome, awesome IP car. Then again, for that sort of money I could buy a car from My105 that has already been prepared. Meh, I'll work it all out eventually. :hmm:

Not going to build a car just to lapsprint it. I could take Lola out to do that. :dance: Meh, I'm going to take a close look at the SC12 on Monday to measure the inlet orifice. Might dodgy up my own restrictor until I can afford to build a good engine - either a 4A-GE screamer or a 7A-GZE/7A-GTE torque monster. :lmao:

Or, as stated by Styler, you can get the 2T-C pistons flycut so they don't hit the valves. Personally I'll be using a 13T block, which is the same as a 3T block (different head for emissions though) with a 2T-GEU head & EFI setup & SC12. :dance:

Yeah. It will make it worthwhile if I can do a low 1:30 at Hidden Valley in my first outing in the TA22. Lola has achieved a 1:35, and since then I have learned noticeably better racing lines, plus the TA22 will have semi-slicks and better suspension. I really just need to decide which engine I'm going to use in it. I've got an AE82 bigport, AE101 silvertop, and an AE101 4A-GZE. I have the stock ECU for the bigport, but it doesn't have compression on cylinders three or four. The silvertop doesn't have an ECU. The 4A-GZE has a Microtech MT-8, but I'm uncertain about whether I want to compete in the over-2000cc class, and I don't know if the supercharger will be effective with a 36mm restrictor. I could use the Microtech on the silvertop, but I don't know if Microtech will put a new base map on it and I don't really want to go through getting it retuned again. At this stage I'm leaning towards the 4A-GZE due to the simplicity of getting the car ready. I can always run the car for a couple of years with this engine, and build the 20v on the side. The option of going turbo on the 4A-GZE is available, and I could expect up to 340hp (engine) with a restricted 4A-GTE, but I'm unsure about this too. Meh, time will tell what happens. I had heaps of plans for Lola and looked what happened to those. :dance:

LOL - nah, not eight. Only five. :dance: I've got three AE71/AE86 type T50's and two TA22 type ones (funny that, considering I've got two TA22's). In light of my decision to part out Lola so as to improve my financial and space situation, I'd be willing to consider selling one of the AE71/AE86 type, as the output shaft is incorrect for the TA22 unless I get a custom tailshaft made (which I'm considering). But I am considering keeping them as spares, as I fear the torque and power of the 4A-GZE and the 13T-GZEU will eventually be too much for them.

Adam is a sad panda today. :bash: I have realised that I don't have room or money to keep Lola anymore. I need both of these valuable resources to get my IP car built, so I will be parting out Lola. I'll keep her engine and transmission for the IP car, but swaybars, springs, and various other KE55-specific parts will be sold. I had hoped I'd be able to hang onto her for a play car, but it's just not feasible in my current situation. Not sure what will happen with the shell. It's in pretty good condition, with only some very tiny rust and slight surface corrosion in a couple of places, but trying to sell her or even give her away may prove difficult. So she may end up going to Sims Metal. :yes: Could we all have a moment of silence please?

Daven, we definitely need your car entered now, as the club has made a commitment to enter four cars. Andrew - if there was any doubt about whether or not your car would be available you shouldn't have entered. We have now made a commitment to have four cars entered, and we need to back that commitment.

Didn't get a reply from the "Business Development Manager" at any point. He never replied to an email I sent him last year either. :bash: So I spoke to the General Sales Manager this afternoon instead. He was VERY, VERY helpful and has committed to giving us some Toyota & TRD posters and signage for our display. And we will DEFINITELY have a 2008 Corolla on display with our cars - hopefully a Levin or Ultima if one is available. AND if a TRD Aurion/Hilux is available, we will get one of those AS WELL. :yes: ;) :yes: Adam is very happy. I will be stopping by Hidden Valley tonight to pay our entry fees and mention the additional cars to John Palamountain. Unfortunately we won't know until Friday the 13th if we'll get a TRD or not, but regardless, I'm still VERY happy. :yes:

Do remember that the 4A-GE is a non-interference engine. Timing belt lets go and the valves still won't touch the pistons. :bash:

I still think my plan for Toyota to buy Lotus is the best idea. That way all the Toyota sports cars can be resurrected, model shared with Lotus (with some substantial differences in materials, power, and price), and Lotus's range can be expanded whilst remaining cost effective. WIN!!!

It's just going to depend on if/when we can get a certain location booked. I suppose if we can't have it where I'm thinking, then we'll just go down to the Nightcliff foreshore or something.

The rumours on this vehicle vary between it being a new Sprinter and a new Celica. Toyota Europe have apparently announced that a new Celica will be released in either 2009 or 2010. So it looks like this will be the Celica. It also looks likely that this vehicle will now weigh about 1,300kg, but will be powered by the 2.0L flat four instead of the 1.5L. Power is estimated to be 210ps and 200Nm, naturally aspirated.

Great! Now you just need an engine to go with it. :)

Okay, I've only received entry forms from Shane and Stephen. Do I take it this is all I'm getting? That will be three cars on display, which isn't bad, but it's obviously not going to be huge.
