  1. All fixed. just welded on some extra bits of metal on the hinge part of the pushrod to give me that extra little bit of travel needed. I've used a bolt to allow me to keep the pushrod from the master cylinder inline with the bore (hope that makes sense). Mick.
  2. nah, its creased up around the corner by the tail light. i will be gettin a panel cut-out from a wrecked car at a later date and I'm gonna cut and shut it for now. Find a perfect straight, prime example of another car and use this one for parts when I finally get some work happening here. Bastards! Mick
  3. ****UPDATE**** Ok, well, i had clutch problems. The pushrod on the master cylinder wasnt getting enough travel, so i had to modify the hook part on the end to be longer. Just a word of warning, DO NOT testdrive a car with an unsecured battery cos the positive terminal wire likes to get chopped in the alternator and the radiator likes to melt holes in batteries. Other than that, i gave her a tune and fuel mixture adjustment and she drives pretty sweet. Just got that friggin dent in the back which makes it look ugly. I'll get some pics soon. Mick.
  4. As the topic suggests, i can't get enough travel with the clutch system for my hydraulic clutch conversion to allow me to change gears or even get it into gear. What has everyone else done about this??
  5. Dent is basically from the fuel filler back to the tail light. spans from just below the level of the bootlid to the style line that seperates the lower part of the panel. can't be pulled out either. i'm contemplating whether to fix it or not as i only paid 200 for this car. if i can find a straight example of another corolla later on, i may transplant everything into that. mick.
  6. Some bastard decided to damage my car while I was away in queensland and i now have a flattened l/h rear quarter panel thanks to some dimwit creating a biut of side impact on my parked car. NOT HAPPY!! And i got no money to fix it. On top of that, i still need to finish her off and give her a good service. I'll get pics soon. *mumbles something about revenge and karma* Mick.
  7. Very nice! Makes my car look like crap. haha. i got rust ina few places. mainly rear quarters and fuel filler area, couple of dents on the r/h rear C pillar and a couple of small ones in the roof. Nothing that can't be fixed though. Should have my car back on the road when i get back from QLD, which will be in 2-3 weeks. Until then "take care of yourselves...andddddddd each other" *Mumbles something about Jerry springer being a tool*
  8. Also got my car starting with the key today. split fuel line running from the filter to the pump was causing air to be sucked in and i forgot to plug in a connector for the ignition.
  9. HAHAHA! Still gotta chuck the KE30 doors on. 55 has drive side damage on the driver door, and the top of the wheel arch on the r/h side is pushed in a bit and i got a dent in the back end which shouldnt be hard to knock out.
  10. I fitted the 4AC to my KE55 using the standard cross-member and 4A engine mounts from an AE71 or AE86 I don't know why you guys are using AE71 or AE86 cross-members when its not necessary. Thats my 2c worth. Mick.
  11. My old KE30 came with the 4-AC, sports exhaust etc and i bought it for parts, so i just stripped it down for parts and decided t chuck it in this one. Don't worry, 4AGE is coming at a later date when i actually have a decent job and can afford it. :P Mick.
  12. Cheers But now i feel stupid. It was just pointed out that it should be an AE55 or AE30 :blinks: Oh well. Not to worry. :((
  13. Hey There People I'm new here. Just thought i'd tell you of my project i'm undertaking. I have sucessfully fitted a 4-AC backed with a T-50 gearbox, custom tailshaft, shortened shifter into my KE55 corolla that has a partially completed KE30 exterior. I like to call it my AE35 cos the running gear is out of an AE86 Aus-spec. I still have to mod the clutch pedal to suit the hydraulic system and source a few connectors off an AE82 for the temp sensor, oil light and i also have to relocate the coil as it sits on the wrong side of the engine bay. Only problem i do have at the moment is i can only get the car to start by jumping a wire on the starter motor and the fuel pump has shat itself. Anyone got a 4-AC fuel pump for cheap and are based in adelaide? Regards Mick
