  1. Looking good. Can you do something with that strip across the bumper? Ruins it for me
  2. Have a cry why don't ya
  3. I put a ST 20v into my AE95. Dunno how different the blacktops are but I didn't have any of the problems you're describing. Aircon came with the halfcut, just get a 4age compressor. I run no difflock though have seen someone that was able to fit it.
  4. You don't really need to spend money on a Gregory's manual. The 4age manual is floating around online, won't cost you a cent :D
  5. If you can put it back together and it still runs I can do a compression test for you if you come to me (Penrith)
  6. Good night, first time I'd been through the Natio in a while, even if I did get stuck behind a coupla 5k powered nuggets :D
  7. Nice work man. Did you do any tunnel or firewall mods to fit it?
  8. What time the meetup there Kev?
  9. Anyone know what 4ages are supposed to sit at? I recently rebuilt my bigport and had some hassles with wiring the thermo back up so have left it off for now. Sits at 1/4 when moving, up to half when stopped and on hot days. Going to put an aftermarket gauge in soon but it seems to be running ok..
  10. Greatest thread on RC ever! :D :D :bash: If that really is your missus you certainly are lucky :( :)
  11. From what you've said there then the 16v is your best choice but you don't know what you're talking about if you prefer the 16v sound over the sound of a 20vs quads on song. :D Explain to me why the 16v is more work to put in?
  12. You need to add up other factors than just the motor. I've got an AE71 with a 4age that I bought already converted. Spun a bearing and decided to rebuild it myself mainly for the learning experiencing and with machining and all the parts that came in at just under a grand :D I will be converting to SR20DET at some stage. Primarily for the fact they are the best bang for buck, and have cheap gearboxes to match. If you want to start chasing power and you probably will the T50 is not going to play nice. Factor in the cost of a W5x or some other gearbox conversion and it starts to add up. There's a white KE70 on Youtube SR20 with stock turbo, zorst, cooler, and ECU running 11.6 quarters without a hassle. That pretty much sold me on the idea.
  13. Pics of girlfriend needed plz :D
  14. Better yet do your own research instead of constantly posting threads. Others have to do the leg work to gain knowledge so don't expect someone to hand it to you on a silver platter. Try the other forums as well. The reason you need to remove the diff lock on a 20v is the vacuum setup doesn't clear the quads although I have heard of someone that was able to pull it off. Easy enough to rig up some other form of actuation though. I've created a pictoral guide for you :D Take out old motor K frame has to come out first Insert 20v Beep beep, you're a motorist!
  15. School holidays again already? :D The 20Vs are a great motor. Aren't any huge powerhouse in an AE95 as the 4WD saps a bit and they don't have much torque. Once you get some revs into it though they are a fun little engine. It all comes down to cost really. You should be able to find a v.cheap local 4AGE complete for less than $500 if you know where to look. 20Vs with everything you need to run them are getting up more towards the $1000 mark. I got my AE101 halfcut for $1250 which was a really good price. Before that I was watching them go for up to $2.5K I wouldn't waste my time putting a big/smallport 4AGE in an AE95. They're a common motor and not that much of a step up over the stock 4AFE. 20V/GZE are your best two options and GZEs are pricey and hard to find.
  16. Steve Penrith Freshly rebuilt 4age AE71 with a few other mods (fun/project) and 20v AE95 wagon (daily - at least it was until the clutch went now sitting till I cbf fixing it :P )
  17. Woohoo not working that night so I'm in. Most likely in the 71, been going strong since the rebuild and after the wagon decided to give up the clutch she's been on daily duties until I can be bothered changing it.
  18. Damn missed this, was at Future anyway. Next year Gadget...
  19. Haha you and your damn aircon :( Great day out and good to catch up with everyone :) My car looked crap without it's plates but is running really well after the rebuild. Will start doing some more mods in the new year ;)
  20. Good to see this one still kicking. I've got a ST in mine :D 2 tone + dark tints. Do it!
  21. Another +1 for 8.9 ceramic coated GZE pistons. $400 from MrToyota brand new can't go wrong.
  22. Why all the hating? Nice gilmer drive Puzzleman. Tried to join your facebook group a while back but was denied :) Met you on the Warragamba cruise a while back.
  23. Given the amount of posts you've made asking the same question 3 differnet ways just give it up mate. If you can't even be bothered to do the research yourself you have no hope of being able to complete a conversion. You've been pointed in the direction of KEB11N already who's selling a complete engine/ecu/drivetrain 4agze for $3k. Don't think you will find a better deal for your money than that and if that's not for you then sell the car and buy something else already complete with your "hefty budget". I put a 20v in mine so I know it's not easy. I got a halfcut for $1250 which influenced my decision and I did all the work myself. Expect to pay thousands for a drive in drive out conversion (not including motor to begin with). Toyota quote 12 hours labour just to change a clutch so do the maths. It's not really the best engine choice due to the lack of torque.
  24. Not necessarily. I had to grind mine.
  25. Sweet pic. Can you shed any light on the RB vs SR decision?
