  1. Hi Andy,You may have a 3K block with a 4k crank installed ,Making it a "3K stroker".Great for 1200cc class racing. This can be done using lower deck height pistons.Remember he who cheats the most with out getting caught wins. :(
  2. Hi Rollake70,I bought mine from Hardiman spares in millperra,Sydney. They were $212 new approx 18 months ago. They suit KE20 through to KE70.I looked at many brands and suppliers and no one could come close to that price back then.Check my thread "Twenty Historic Racer" for pics.Raleigh......
  3. I just had another thought about your SU issue.Standard fuel pressure for self centering needle type su's is 2.7 psi. have you put a guage on it? Regards,Raleigh....
  4. e the I have had the same issue on a Austin Healey when i fitted ram tubes. The only thing i could put it down to was not enough differential over the bridge/jet area of the carbys to draw the fuel out of the jet.I mention this because when i put back the round ram flo 300cfm filters the light throttle stammer went away and still pulled 8000rpm with out any trendy air box.Another thing to look into is the type of fuel bowls used.Eg are they for level use or inclined ? They are different and this will change the fuel level.Check the part number tags on one the 3 screws on the fuel bowls. We have fitted twin, tripple and single SU carbys to many cars over the years with great results.I only fitted a DCOE weber to my own KE20 because i couldnt get a SU Manifold.Just my 1 cents worth.Regards,Raleigh.....
  5. I have done the same on another one of my race cars.(Non Rolla).I used a LPG saftey cut off switch made by PEEL.The part number is CP30.I found it necessary to use a momentery fuel pump switch to prime the DCOE webers after they had sat for a few months with this set up,This was because the Elec pump will only work when the safety switch senses the IGN Coil firing.I used a reverse current diode as well to not risk blowing up the safety switch.Have a look at the peel web site for more info.
  6. Its a shame to see catalina park In such a state.I competed in the annual VSCCA meetings up untill 2000.The feature race was a Hour and a half long and the demands of this track had your undivided attention, especially in the wet.The local community put a end to the track,I still have a few trophys from these events some where.Back in 1992-3 I was up there watching the V8's doing a trial run.The Winfield and Benson and Hedges sponsored VP Commodores were quite a sight and the sound of the V8's in the valley is unforgetable.Regards,Raleigh...
  7. Sounds quite possible. In my Historic racing circles this has been going on for 30 years and is no revalation.Last year at Wakefield park at shared a pit garage with a 1962 Austin Healey Sprite. It had the "A series" Austin engine @ 1380cc.It put out 156hp on 98 octane pump fuel. For any one interested check out the swift tune site in the UK.They sell spicey things such as titanium valves, retainers, collets and even Carbon fibre push rods! They regulary build 130 hp street engines for mini's, sprites and mg's.Please don't throw away your twin cam engines just yet, this is top shelf gear and comes at a price.Regards,Raleigh.............
  8. Was an absolute beast for its day used to leave old slant 6 Valiants in its wake. I'm Impressed your Old corolla must have been quite rapid in its day.My AP5 Slant 6 Torque flite auto Lays rubber off the line and chirps 2nd gear(single wheeler Diff but stock engine). When Bob young and Max stewert (Gold star Champion and Toyota/Triumph dealer in Orange n.s.w) raced the ke10 at bathurst in 67/68 the slant 6 valiants blew them away every where except down through the esses at Bathurst. :lolcry:
  9. Hi,KE20rolla.Your orginal front bar is 17mm and if you have the orginal "D'' bushes it will have 17 moulded into them.My new 20mm bar was made to order and took less than a Day.It has made a vast difference to body roll and turn in with out been over done.Kmac in sydney made it for me.I use my car for Tarmac rallies and Historic racing, its driven to and from the track. When choosing sway bar diameter bear in mind things like existing front spring rate and tyres used. There is no point putting a super huge Sway bar on it like a 24mm(Which Kmac will make for you) if you only have average rubber on the front. All you will achieve is spectacular under steer FWD Boys would be in envy of.I have also repaired quite a few craked and busted out chassis rail sections due to hero sise over done sway bars in years past, bear this in mind as a early corolla is pretty lite on in sheet metal guage.Kmac do a rear bar also and from memory it is 16mm. This is my 2cents hope it helps.Raleigh.......
  10. Top news for Australian F1 followers. He Has come a long way.I remember watching his race in the yellow pages sponsored Formula ford at Sydney's Amaroo park.True talent will always rise to the top.
  11. Sorry My mistake,The tyres are a Falken ZIEX- ZE912,185/60 13" You will find the tyre companies don't list much on the net in their on line catalogues for 13", ;) but it is a different story at the dealers.
  12. Hi All,I have just fitted Falken Aziens to my KE20 in a 185/60 13" on a 6" Rim.No complaints.Michelin also do the same sise in their XM1 tyre series.Hope this helps. ;)
